Thoughts On How Season 3 Should Be If Clementine Isn't Protagonist

edited January 2015 in The Walking Dead

I have diffferent opinions on Clem being the PC in season 3, Personally I want her to be the protagonist because I care so much about her and I have loved her from the start and she was the reason I started playing TWD in the first place, but on another hand if Clem wasn't protagonist I would like someone completely random in sort of like a 400 day type of thing where in the end they meet Clem in the fifth episode of season 3..

What I mean by 'the 400 days type of thing' is in 400 days each story starts at a certain amount of days ie. Vince starts at day 1 or 3 or something like that. If they did that in season 3, they kind of had like a backtrack I guess to in between those 24 months between season 1 and season 2, i don't want the new chacters to be the family you see in Janes ending that would be terrible because I don't like them that much but if it was someone completely irrelevant to the main story - none of the 400 days characters none of the season 1/2 story characters. Someone fresh and on their own.

Maybe they start on like 100-150 days in so it's not long after Lee and Clementine parted their ways in the world, I don't know where they would be located but somewhere around Savanna maybe or by Atlanta or somewhere like that, I don't know I'm from New Zealand not America. That would be the first episode or something then second episode would be maybe a year in or sometime close to that.. Then 3rd episode etc etc, you understand what I mean?

I also have a second theory on what it should be like and that is every episode of season 3 should change the protagonist, and I know reading that sounds like a horrible idea even if I were to read that I would throw up in my mouth, what I mean by that is change the protagonist between the new one we'll call them Keara (yes it is going to be a girl) and Clementine, say episode 1 we start as Clementine like we normally do with our ending from the previous episode, but instead of throwing it away in the first 15 minutes they expand, I saw this on something or heard it in a video but say for example if you didn't kill Kenny but you didn't stay at Wellington then say he'll be mad at you for not staying at Wellington and ruining the chances for AJ having a safe lifestyle for a while, I think that's a great idea and I would love to see that, just minor anger though not a lot like Kenny was when Sarita died but like how Christa was in the first episode, if you say "Omid was going to teach me" she'll cut you off and say "I know what Omid was going to do" or something a long those lines.. Kenny'll just snap at you at certain times and sometimes you have to choose right dialogue for him to man up and say he's sorry or if you choose the wrong dialogue then he'll get more mad at you and have a little rant at about how you destroyed AJs growing years as a baby.

Then the second episode rolls around and it's Keara, no one expects it except for us because we're smart cunts.. and it'll start out really tesne in the start maybe her running away from someone or her killing off a walker and there's quick qtes' that occur once in a while like normal TWD fashion, then she meets up with other survivors and she has to tell them about herself which is also telling you about her, you don't choose the dialogue that she says to the strangers to try and escape safely she says it because Telltale want you to get to know her and have a little backround history on what has happened to her during the past however long it has been, whether she had family (not a sister please Telltale, we've already had two of them) and they got lost to the herd and it got her stronger, etc.

By episode 3 Keara is heading towards a certain destination and by episode 4 Clem is heading to the same destination but not knowing, if Clem was with Kenny/Jane/The Family with Jane. then they got separated. Kenny died halfway through episode 4 by getting shot by a bandit but being able to survive and have a last stand like Lee did unlike with Luke he kind of just died, that's it. With Jane by herself they (Clem and Jane) were separated by a walker herd and couldn't find eachother and had to head off in other directions to get away safely, With Jane and The Family the little boy gets bit and turns to the mother and she gets bit and dies, Randy (The father) has to kill them before going into the walker herd that I mentioned before when it was just Clem and Jane and the same thing happens as the previous one I listed. With Clem and AJ in Wellington I don't know how that would go down... I really don't maybe a walker outbreak happened inside of the walls and they all had to ditch Wellington and Clem and AJ run in a certain direction and get to the certain destination that Keara is going to.. And with Clem being on her own it's kind of easy, she just walks in a certain direction and finds By episode 5 they have both met and are at gunpoint telling eachother about themselves and what they had went through, but, I don't know if you'll be able to understand this but say when Clem says something like "I had a man named Lee take care of me for about 3 months but he got bit in Savanna and that's where he still is." then you would start controlling Keara and have a response for that like "I had something like that too but with my father etc etc." Do you understand me here? Basically you say something as one character then it switches you to the opposite character for the response kind of thing. yeah. At the end of the day they become friends and they decide to stick together and lookout for eachother because they are friends.

Sorry for this being so long but I kind of just wanted to say my thoughts on this and yeah hopefully Telltale can try and add this in, or consider some of the things I said in this.. If you read all of that then I wanna hug you right now for being so into it and actually reading my opinions. Thank you so much if you did and, Have a nice day :)

  • interesting thoughts. I had some similar ideas that I posted about how the DLC would play into season 3. Having more than one playable character could go over well as long as Clementine remains the main PC. I think they should use the DLC to coalesce the endings from season 2. Depending on what you chose will determine which DLC storyline the player exerpiences, but no matter what the DLC brings everyone to the same page for season 3. Or the DLC could focus on Christa so that we know how her story ended and if she ends up with Clem at the start of seaon 3.
