Um I'm not really excited about Season 3
I think the series should end really. I mean Season 2 was just... wow and I don't want TWD subjected to any further bad writing. I had a thread asking if we would get anything as good as S1 and some of the responses were that my expectations were to high. Well I knew S1's brilliance could never be matched but I expected something above mediocrity. Now with S3 coming around I'm scared for Telltale. I enjoyed TWD but S2 got worse more and more. Now S3 with Mike and Arvo? Esssh! Not for me, TWAU would be a far more progressive step IMO

Who said anything about them coming back? Personally I hope they don't show up so I can pretend they're alive for the rest of my natural life.
i personally would love to play as either of them as main protags, Arvo pref.
And I'm not really excited about the future of this subforum, you seem to make new threads constantly that include trash talking season 2. We get it, you think it was bad.
Do I really have to?
Nah not trash talk more about my doubts about S3. Don't be an "apologist"
Do I really have to?
Arvo was a very interesting villain. You didn't like how he manipulated Mike/Bonnie to get out of there? How he picked a fight with Kenny to show how unstable he was, when the group was already at its breaking point.
Then he says his soft spoken Thank you...
I laughed my ass off, and saw mike falling for it, right then and there.
You thought he was a villain?
Im excited but this time I might honestly wait till after the first ep to come out to find out if the endings really make a major impact
Well its Season 3's most recent predecessor. Needless to say I'm just not confident on S3 on it's own and more in fa or of the TWAU
He was a villain, he manipulated the group from the start.
It was his idea to go across the ice, to be honest, i never believed he crossed that ice before, i mean not with the other guys, there would been cracks all up and down the ice. There weren't any. He used the ice situation as a chance to escape, capitalized on it, because Luke dies (bon det.),
in Arvo's mind, he is a prisioner, so he is taking whatever steps he can to escape. He gets caught, and see's that people have sympathy for him, so he uses that as a weapon, a few nice words here, "please, thank you for helping me," anyone could see what was happening from a mile away.
I was watching it happen and just laughing to myself.
Alright that's your opinion. For me, I can't wait until Season 3. I loved Season 2, yes it had it's flaws (Amid the Ruins specifically, that was the only episode I felt had really bad writing), but it was still a great season and I have no doubt that Season 3 will be great as well. All I ask is that the writing staff be smaller (1-3 writers, preferably Breckon, Shorette, and Darin, not 5 like we had this season) and make sure all the writers are on the same page.
I think he got off with a pat on the back but a villain seems more villainous at worst he was a scumbag spoiled brat
To be honest, I'm pretty sure I would have done the same thing in his position. I don't think that it's making me a villain.
I can´t wait till Season 3, to be honest. It´s Minecraft I´m not excited about and hope it doesn´t delay S3 (I don´t think it will but there´s always doubt).
I'm a little too excited, tbh. Considering we still have awhile before the release.
My excitement for Season 3 is high, only way for me to be at 100% excitement is for Clem to be officially announced as protagonist.
Popping Champagne on that day. Might also have a minor cardiac episode, from too much excitement.
you're seriously not excited for season 3?? Or has your opinion changed on what other people have been saying in your posts?
I'm on this forum daily and you should tell from my posts that I am passionate about The Walking Dead, so personally i am excited for season 3, will it be as good as season 1? No, and I'll give you one damned reason why.. I saw a post and the title of it was "One of the things Season 3 HAS to get right to succeed." and it was posted by Lilacsbloom and it was an amazing post, it was a post saying that nothing will be as good as season 1 for the simple reason of, the relationship between Lee and Clementine just isn't there, they tried that in season 2 with Luke and Kenny but did it work? No! It didn't and you damn well know it if you want to read the entire artcle then here -->>> https://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/89858/one-of-the-things-season-3-has-to-get-right-to-succeed <<<--
It is an amazing thread and I really hope you do have the time to read it as it inspired me and I found out why I loved season 1 just as much as anyone else.. I encourage you too look at that thread and then ask yourself the question I asked before. Are you generally not looking forward to season 3? Or is it the posts/comments you've seen on season 1 being the best and season 2 not being as good and you think season 3 is going to be worse? Have a nice day .
Please read the thread https://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/89858/one-of-the-things-season-3-has-to-get-right-to-succeed
stop.
bro.
You're not really that hyped in the beginning, but as it gets closer and closer, everyone is just like
I'm laughing my ass off at these gifs because they're so fucking accurate.
Looking at some of the hate this game has got you would have thought you accidentally visited the "Walking Dead: Survival Instinct" forum. Did this season screw some things up? Yes, majorly. Most notably Clem's (lack of) development, occasional poor writing, killing off too many characters, not making the supporting cast as relatable and human-like as season 1, the episodes were too short, yada yada yada. But at the end of the day, I still had a shitload of fun playing this game and it's as an immersive experience as any game can deliver. I personally liked it just as much as season 2, despite its flaws. I think TellTale's Walking Dead's worst still beats most games' best, and I think season 2 is as bad as it's going to get. I'm expecting season 3 to make a major comeback. I think TellTale knows they fucked some things up and they're going to learn from their mistakes.
I understand a lot of people on this forum loved this season but there's also a lot who hated it. It's worth noting that the majority of people outside this community loved this game and for the most part it still got pretty damn good reviews. I don't think season 2 is the train wreck that some make it out to be.
So yes, I am extremely excited for season 3.
That is what makes him a great character, its all about perspective.
A devious person is much more dangerous than a Kenny Crazy, you can see Kenny Crazy, but this guy, he hides it and uses people to his advantage, and that is what i call some straight cold killer shit.
Same tbh.
I'm not excited for season 3 at all, I was too disappointed with how season 2 turned out. I'm not going to hype season 3 so I can save myself the grief when it falls short of my expectations, because it probably will at some point. Maybe they'll do better with the next season, but I highly doubt it. I know that I won't be spending my sibling's money on season 3, so whatever.
If you thought season 2 was that bad then season 3 can only be better because they probably have taken note of all the criticism they've received (which is plenty) and they should try to make things better in the future. So if I were you, I'd try to give it a chance and leave any expectations behind. We should judge the game based on what it is not how we wished it would be. I personally really can't wait to play season 3 because I didn't have any major issue with season 2.
You can't say it's going to fall short when we are nowhere close to it being released. I understand you didn't like Season 2 and you not feeling hyped for Season 3, but saying that it will automatically fail before it's even released, that's definitely uncalled for. You can't make a sound judgment on something when we don't even know what it's about yet. I was acting the same way when Telltale announced Minecraft, and you know what, I realized I was being an immature child about the whole thing because I wasn't even giving it the benefit of the doubt. So before you completely write off Season 3, how about we at least get some episodes released and then you can make a judgment call.
Fair enough then.
I'm hesitant about my level of excitement until I see a trailer. I just don't know what they're planning to do with the story, how they're going to tie all the different season 2 endings together believably, and I honestly don't really want to play as Clem again.
I'm not excited mainly because of how much I'm loving Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones and because I wasn't a big fan of Season 2. At the same time, I still think they should be making a S3 (unlike you) because Telltale has proven what good storytellers they are. So yeah, I'm not excited but at the same time I don't want them to completely abandon it.
I liked Season 2, It wasn't as good as Season 1, but I still think it was pretty good. I'm still thinking about that final decision and I beat the game a week ago. I'm excited to see what happens with Season 3.
The prospects of season 3 might appear rather bleak after season 2's wrap up, but I'd like to hope that these people have learned from their past mistakes and improve to make season 3 superior to season 2 and nearly on par with season 1 even though this would be impossible without at least Sean Vannaman and Gary Whitta returning to helm season 3. Also season 3 needs either 6 episodes like Game of Thrones or 3 hour long episodes if they plan to stick to the usual 5 episode season. If season 3 is worse than season 2 and they continue to repeat the same dumb mistakes as the prior season then I'd agree they might want to throw in the towel after next season.
Okay, Nick and Sarah's second deaths were poorly written. Nick's was actually well written, it just should have happened on screen. But I mean other than those things, I really don't see what was wrong with the writing of the season. There weren't hubs and you were forced to talk to Kenny and stuff, but those aren't problems with writing, they're problems with execution. From a narrative standpoint, it made perfect sense for you to talk to Kenny. No matter how much the player doesn't like Kenny, that doesn't mean Clementine can't like him. I think everyone is just stuck thinking that they are clementine, when in reality, Clementine is Clementine, you just control her actions. And yes, maybe the choices all led to quite similar outcomes, but did you not like where they went? The narrative is perfectly fine. I personally think the choice between Kenny and Jane at the end was one of the best things the game has ever done. I get that everyone is concerned that choices don't matter as much as they would have liked, but I frankly don't care. I like the outcome no matter what.
Also, stop saying the term lazy writing please. These people are not lazy. The average length of one episode is two movie scripts. If every single choice had a major outcome, the length of the script would grow exponentially. You would have months...years...between episodes. You wouldn't want that.
Yeah, I'm excited for season 3.
Yes but come on, the Can I go with you option? Help Christa? Help Sarah? Go to Luke or Save AJ? These were all major choices and had the same exact fucking outcome. I wouldn't mind them if they weren't the main choices for the episodes but they are. That is lazy
Being an overall fan of TWD, yes. S2's a little shoddy in some areas and I'll admit that, but it's still one of my favorite mediums, and one of the best handled mediums. Even in it's bad moments, it still fares better than most of the comic's and show's low points.
Season 2 didn't disappoint me. There were a few weak spots, sure, but I still have full confidence that it'll get better for Season 3. I think S2 was a small hiccup in an otherwise good track record. Telltale's hit a few low points before, but they've made up for those moments in the past.
