Anyone else ??

edited January 2015 in The Walking Dead

Guys the walking dead season 2 has finished a while ago and I loved it , just like I loved Season 1 , But i get a bad feeling out of loving them , i feel like i can't wait at all for season 3 , I keep thinking about the walking , replaying episodes , scenes , ... etc .... I can't stop , usually this happens after I play a great game , such as Bioshoock infinite and L.A noire , but it usually ends after 3 days of playing it , with the walking dead it didn't end after a couple of months !! I wish I could just lose my memory for 24 hours and replay them both , I really do , so anyone else feels this way ??

  • If you're having a hard time I would recommend some of Telltale's other games such as The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands, and Game of Thrones. Playing these, especially the last two, will help ease the wait and help get your mind off of The Walking Dead, who knows, you might end up liking them more.

Played them all bro , And yes I did like them all but still , I have a lot of free time and have a huge passion for gaming , in times like this when i don't find any game to get it into i start getting nostalgic and looking and back and well , looking back at the walking dead , I just want more of this gold , a lot more .

  • You're not alone SK_23. I'm somewhat of a fitness freak, so the Walking Dead is right up my alley. Its like a damn drug, searching the forums for a quick fix. I've played no games like it.

  • I feel the exact opposite, when S2 was over i felt like, welp thats over. I have no attachment to Clementine, or any other characters at this point in the game. If they delayed it, another year i wouldn't care at this point. FFS we have minecraft announced.

  • Can you explain Why you thought season 2 was Bad enough to make you feel this way ?? and btw wtf would I be excited about minecraft ?? how will they make a narrative out of it ??

  • Yeah, I do the same replaying the good emotional scenes from time to time from S1 and S2, reminding myself why I love this game so damn much. I also would like to forget about the really good games I've played just so could re-live the memory yet again (like Dark Souls, Bastion, TWAU, or TWD).

  • I don't want to make this into a hate thread or derail your post, but. I personally felt this game was average. I wasn't really interested in playing Clementine, but i gave it a chance, and the season felt like a cheap and predictable ever since Kenny came back in episode 2-2. I'm not trying to say i hate Kenny, or he shouldn't of been in the story, however the way it all ended felt like a complete ripoff of Season 1.

Other characters were a complete let down. I was hoping that it would of been Nick and CLementine or Sarah and CLementine for S3. Nope. Nope, why give a broken character a chance for character development when its easier to just kill them off, for the cheap emotionless death.

I found Alvin's character to be pointless, and the first time i played S2, i didn't know his name till he was already dead.

    Whatever.

How the group, slowly gets killed off, until Clementine is the only one left. The plot holes like, Clementine kicking down a door, asked to solve everyone's problems. It broke emersion every time. No one would do that. No one. If your life is in danger are you going to trust your faith to a teenage girl you knew for maybe a two weeks?

    No, of course not.

  • You're not alone, friend ;)

  • That's a shame man, I can not tell you how much I've enjoyed the series so far. If you ever do purchase season three, I hope you can enjoy that as much as I have been enjoying the first two.

  • I'm feeling this way too!

  • I will buy it, S2 was good enjoyable experience on its own. Don't get me wrong, i'm not one of these people who are like, ITS THE WHORST IN ALL TIME. Its not, it had problems in my opinion, hopefully they can rally and fix the issues people had with S2. I really hope they will stop killing off characters like Nick/Sarah, or just stop making them.

Why give us a character to care about, just to off it at the end of the Season, its predictable.

  • well , although i don't agree , i upvoted , it's a sensible and respectable opinion.

  • I want to see less deaths and more character development.

  • Haha, I'm the same way. I replay it all the time. That's also why i'm on the discussion boards a lot. The next best thing is talking about the game

  • I like the fact that there's a lot of death. Showing us how survivors, especially Clem, are becoming immune to so much loss like its just a normal occurance. I mean it is an apocalypse.

But I also see other players problems with it all. I really liked Molly's character from season one, so when she just upped and left I was a little disappointed. And little girls kicking down doors? It is quite plausible. I've seen younger kids break bigger things. What bothered me the most was Clem without any gloves in that snow. Temperature is a big fucking threat, anywhere in the world. But I love Clem so I got over that.

  • im the same ive replayed s1 5 times i think i thought it would stop but it hasnt at least its not a bad game to be stuck on so i dont mind :p

Not me, excessive character deaths to me feel pointless. When characters like Alvin died, i was pretty much like "who cares LOL." I liked Walter more than Alvin.

Clem, are becoming immune to so much loss like its just a normal occurrence. I mean it is an apocalypse.

Well when i lost my family, the loss effected me for years. To me, her cavalier attitude isn't realistic imo.

. I really liked Molly's character from season one, so when she just upped and left I was a little disappointed

I did as well, i thought it was something i could see her doing. She started to get attached to Lee and the others, and she got scared and left. She was much more well written than Jane imo.

What bothered me the most was Clem without any gloves in that snow

I live in Ohio, where Clementine was walking to "Wellington." The weather can be either really mild here or really bad. Like earlier this month our temperature was -30, now its back up to 50 degrees, and all the snow is melting.

  • I live in South London, winter temperatures will go down -10C, usually without snow just a lot of ice. It rains all year round. I'm not very close to my family so I can't comment on that man, sorry.

Personally my main enjoyment I get from the game is Clementine's journey. I mean, what is yours? Developing characters and their personalities seems strenuous in a game where death is quite literally the foundation. May be I'm slightly selfish that I'm content with just Clem's story.

I enjoy meeting new characters, but I also enjoy watching them die. I think that probably puts me in the not very nice category. Like Carver smh

  • Perrsonally my main enjoyment I get from the game is Clementine's journey. I mean, what is yours?

I think mine was the relationship between Clementine and a older character that takes care of her like Lee did. In this season imo, there wasn't one character that put her needs above their own. It just wasn't there. Clementine felt like a different character from S1- S2.

May be I'm slightly selfish that I'm content with just Clem's story

Personally i like duality, like they had in TLOU. Two main protagonists, that take care of each other throughout the game. Clementine makes relationships with people, but then are killed off, to me makes it feel cheap/pointless.
