What Telltale can take from Season 1 and Season 2 to make Season 3 the best

I actually like Season 2 more. I LOVE Season 1 to death, but something about Season 2 just makes me like it more. Season 2 definitely had its issues, but I believe that with the past 2 seasons behind them, Telltale can take the best of Season 1 and 2 and make Season 3 the best.

The Best of Both:
Amazing Characters
Amazing Stories

The best of Season 1:

A More Focused Story- Season 2 at times felt like it didn't know what story it wanted to tell. At first it wanted to tell the story of Clementine surviving in a world without. Lee. Than it wanted to tell a villain storyline. Then it wanted to tell a story about getting to Wellington. Now, I'm cool with all that, but the ultimate goal amidst the chaos should have always been to get to Wellington. Wellington seemed like a major factor in the first two episodes with it all but disappearing in a Episode 3 and most of 4 until 5 where it was the center again. A more structured organized story in Season 3 would garner a much better response.

Character Development- For as much as I love all of Season 2's characters, they were not developed or they were killed before they could be. Pete dies almost immediately after you meet him. Nick and Sarah are both poorly killed off in arguably one of the weakest moments in the entire series. Luke's death felt rushed and unplanned. Carlos's death would have been fine if they hadn't killed of Sarah right after and used his death as a gateway to begin a new arc for Sarah. Rebecca and Alvin's deaths were fine though. So, no, I didn't feel the same feeling I did when Carley or Larry died in Season 1 when Nick or Sarah died in Season 2 because they felt cheap.

Long Episodes- Pretty self explanatory

Puzzles- "Does anyone know how to do this(Looks at Clem)"

Hubs- How many hubs were there in Season 2? I guess the Pen and some of Parker's Run could be considered a hub, but besides that nothing. Season 1 had some amazing hubs! The Pharmacy, The Dairy, The Motor Inn, The Train, The Train Station, The Mansion, River Street, and Crawford. They offered us chances to learn awesome things about these characters. Season 2 really needed a Cabin Hub:(

The Best of Season 2:

The Pacing- Everything was always fast paced. There could still be peaceful moments, but I always came out of the episode with sweaty hands and my heart racing.

Clementine as the PC- Nuff said

A great Villain- Carver

Multiple Endings- It really added some umph to the finale.

What would you take or leave to make Season 3 the best?

  • I agree with alot of this. Season 2 did feel like they went from, world without lee, villain, Wellington, I hope season 3 has a more directed plot

I think in season 3 more of Clementine's group should survive into further seasons. I don't wanna play each season knowing that by the end of it all the NPCs are going to die or become "Status Unknown"....enough with the intriguing one episode characters

Getting more chances to converse with characters would be nice. Howes was a missed opportunity in that respect. We barely had any contact with the 400 Days characters....Our time at Carver's could have had us talking with all the 400 Days Characters, finding out more about Carver's and how things are run there and how they fit into it....and maybe we could've recruited some of them to help us take down Carver....sorry...a little rant...but yes, better character development.

I kinda liked how it jumped around. Sometimes there is no direct plan and life in the apocalypse, you just take it as it comes.
