Would you have preferred the Kenny/Jane choice to have been implemented like this?

Based on who you agree with/are more friendly too, Clem saves that person, so in the moment the player has no choice. This would show that little things change how Clem thinks about people, and who deserves to live more. It would show choices matter, even ones from previous episodes.

Edit- I do think the choice between Luke and Kenny would've been a better way of doing this.

  • Yes that would have been better although we had a lot more air time to agree with Kenny more on things. It should have been Luke or Kenny choice which is what it was originally going to be before TT realised lots of people worked out the pizza/ice cream choice so they put Jane in the mix.

In Season 3, big things need to change. Every choice needs to matter and not end with the same outcome as it always has. The problem is, TT won't do this unless they are willing to take a lot longer making the games. I hope when Season 3 comes round that this is the only game they make for that year so all the work will go into that and not multiple games. Season 2 was badly affected and rushed most of the time because they were working on TWAU at the same time.

  • Nice touch, would've been a cool thing to have if the player failed to make up their mind and the game just calculated it and made the decisionn instead . But Kenny vs Luke would've been a lifetimes more better.

  • I'm glad you didn't have to choose between Luke and Kenny like that, because it was expected. Luke dying, no matter what you do, was completey unexpected. That's the kind of the thing that can happen in that situation, sometimes good people die and there is nothing that you can do about it. If the games took the safe route and did what everyone wanted, they'd be boring.

  • Just meant in the scenario I described in the OP it'd have been better, as we had more change to agree/be friendly with Luke.

That's definitely interesting to think about, it's like if you stay silent as Lee when he's about to die and Clem decides to leave him or kill him based on your choices. However, since Kenny was around longer than Jane was, I don't think there would have been enough choices for the game to calculate something like that. If they were introduced around the same time in Season 2, then yes that would have been great, but since we had more choices when it came to Kenny, it doesn't really balance out.

  • I would've preferred that Jane hadn't been implemented at all.

What you've suggested is an interesting concept, though. I wonder what my Clem would have done considering I wasn't really friendly with either of them. She probably would've let Jane die though.

  • I would rather Luke or Kenny, Kenny or Christa, Luke or Christa.

The biggest problem was Telltale changed something that had been established and while expected, would have been a tough decision.

But they choose shock value over something established.

  • I woulda preferred that Kenny have been Christa in S2

  • If we didn't have a choice in the moment and it all depended on previous actions, that wouldn't be fair. I thought I siided with Kenny a lot in Season 1 but according to him, that wasn't the case. I guess the choices that apparently mattered most, just happened to be some of the few times when I didn't side with Kenny, so at some time near the end I remember him pointing out that I hadn't bee taking his side, or something like that. I was actually pretty hurt by that, because I thought we were pretty close friends, we just had the occasional disagreement. But he acted like I was always against him, even though that wasn't the case.
So if Chlem shot or didn't shoot Kenny depending on your previous choices, that would really suck. The developers don't really know how we're feeling about things, or when our minds will change. That's why they can't afford to not give us choices during important moments like that. Even when Luke dies and you cant save him, we still have choices and that's important.
