I've deduced the probable world location of Howe's

It's been on my mind for a while, the location of Howe's Hardware from Season 2. From the Walking Dead wiki, it's said to be in Tennessee. And thus, if the ski lodge is in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, I've been doing research, amongst Google maps, and wikipedia pages, I've concluded that Howe's location is not in fact a Lowe's site but rather a Wal-Mart site in Huntingdon, Tennessee. Since Parker's Run real world counterpart is Parker's Cross Roads which is also in Tennessee, searching via Google maps, I've concluded my findings.

I feel satisfied with the results of my findings, unless someone says otherwise.

  • Holy crap, I just looked at Google Maps, it does look pretty similar, the developers just added the "expansion" part to it like the comic store and shoe store.

  • Really? Wow.

    Also...there was a shoe store?

  • Alright people let's pack up our things and head out there. Maybe we'll find Clem, AJ, and Jane there. Lets gooooo!

  • Well my Clem's with Kenny up in Ohio, so there's no point in me going.

I mean hell it's got nearly all the same features

Large and spacious parking lot? Check.

    Open-roof garden center? Check.

Lots of trees/foliage surrounding it? Check.

  • Like i said, the only thing missing from it is the expansion stores that they were working on, I assume that's just something the developers added though.

  • Just a reminder that Luke apparently ran from Virginia to Tennessee in one day.

  • Plus, I believe the truck had to make a few stops i.e. the beginning of Ep 3 where Sarah had to make a pitstop and probably for others, giving Luke more time to catch up.

    That's my theory.

  • Also, remember in Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers, where Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli chased after the Uruk-hai that had kidnapped Merry and Pippin. They chased them for three days and nights with no food and no rest. So, it would stand to reason, a man like Luke's determination will push the pains of hunger and sleep, in order to save his friends. Any lurkers he'd come across he'd ignore because they're lurkers.

This was just for more clarity.

  • Hello all. I believe I found a Lowe's location that would be more realistic than my previous choice. Parker's Run could be anywhere the imagination sets it.

So, after even more research, I've concluded that Howe's real world location is in Newport, Tennessee. As from South Toe, North Carolina where the Blue Ridge Mountains are 81 miles. 400 miles I don't believe Luke would even still be alive.

So it is a Lowe's or a Wal-Mart, I don't know. What do any of you believe?

  • I would think it's a Lowe's considering Howes is the same type of hardware store

  • Howes is Lowes, the logo is similiar, even if the car park/buildings are different, and it has a garden centre to the left, been researching the locations for ever lol http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/89708/walking-dead-real-life-locations-part-4-updated

  • I know I thought I had it before but it is a Lowe's in Newport TN.
Going with my gut. Plus, 81 miles from South Toe, NC to Newport sounds more plausible than 400 mile trek on foot. Seriously, I'm surprised I didn't realize it sooner. Newport makes more sense doesn't it?

  • yeah sometimes the actual physical locations don't match the game ones,so most of the time i go for the look,as it was used for the inspiration of the place.:)
