    In season 1, the officer escorting Lee to the prison talks about Thomas Richards, a murderer who was caught red handed cutting up his wife but still insisted he was innocent. He is one of the survivors Rick Grimes finds in the prison alive in the comics.

    I know its a dead theory. But I'd love to see a "what if" Lee didn't crash on the highway and actually reach the prison to survive long enough for Rick Grimes arrival. Just to see how different Rick and Lee's story could be.
