Honestly, I feel like the show is better than it ever has been. I really really enjoy it right now. It's not as good as some really truly dramatic shows, such as Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Oz, or Game of Thrones, but it's still verrrry enjoyable.
As for the Christian audience thing (your only criticism that I really have any response to), they just found a priest. Of course there's going to be some religious thought in the near future. What does it matter?
Yes, the show SUCKS SO MUCH NOW. The season started off great with The Hunters, but it went down hill with the Beth Hospital Storyline and this season has just suckkeeeeeddd.
I don't think it is a poor representation of what TWD is supposed to be about. The show does a good job IMO (not as good as the comics) of depicting people losing their humanity and their struggle to regain it during this world.
It was never particularity great to start with.
It is a very poor representation of what TWD is supposed to be about and I think it does … morethe comics a creative disservice. Also, I feel as if the show is nothing more than a corporate cash-cow and when Darabont got the boot all creative vision was permanently blinded in favor of falling into a pit of cash.
I love the TV series, and still watch it. I'm also the most non jaded person ever though. Most people who got bored of the show seems like the type who like non stop action and very short story. They need to realize Walking Dead is about survivors living in the apocalypse, and the writers are trying to make it seem sorta realistic. That's why some episodes are slow and focused on character development, so that the viewer feels the tragedy and emotion when something crazy occurs. The show would be pointless and boring if it were constant action and little story, there just wouldn't be any feels man... It's a post-apocalyptic film, how could one not enjoy that?
Actually, I think the show has been getting better and better since the beginning of Season 4. I loved Season 4, even if the second half seemed a bit slow, and I've loved almost all of Season 5 so far. The parts I found to drag were Season 2 and 3. I nearly stopped watching then, but I'm glad I stuck around.

Eh, I wasn't a big fan of the hospital story line either but with last week's episode I'm convinced its heading in the right direction.
