How I think TWD should end
It wouldn't end with a cure, but humanity basically adapting to the virus like humanity adapted to the common cold. Eventually, the walkers have all been defeated, but in the end, humanity destroys itself because of the people. All the walkers are dead, there is no threat of infection, but like any Government, the fight for who's in charge would just cause more damage and bloodbath. In the end, the walkers didn't destroy humanity, humanity destroyed itself. And yes, eventually someone would be in charge, but that someone could be like Carver, Negan, The Governor, or Crawford. People who care about themselves and survival above all. There would still be wars and new hurdles we would overcome. Eventually, maybe 50 years post outbreak, humanity would return to like it is today. But just like before, we destroy ourselves in the end. We are worse than the walkers, in the end, like Rick said, We are The Walking Dead, not the walkers.
