On the show, the group had 3 questions for assessing newcomers. They were:
How many walkers have you killed?(I like how this question came to be in there. In S2 Hershel still had it in his mind that the walkers were just sick. He asks Rick how many he's killed. Rick responds with: "Too many to keep count." And Hershel says: "Can you stop?" Thought that was a powerful question.)
How many people have you killed?
Why?
Never seen anyone fail the 3 question test, but thought it was smart to ask them.

How?
How you lose the people you're close to sorta shapes who you are in this world. We've seen it with Stranger, Nick, and Jane, to name a few.

I dont think anyone can fail the test it just sets them up to be assessed by the group. The ideal reaction is they're unsure on the number of walkers, know the exact number of people and why they did it. Of course at this point rick kind of admits he's fail at this point

----to me, more pertinent than who or how many, is why.....I assume that everyone has killed or at least tried to kill Walkers...and typically, no one survives unless they've killed at least one other living person, regardless of intent
