Is there going to be a second season for TWAU?

Has anyone gathered some information about a second season coming?

Nothing concrete so far. In the past few weeks, it's just been false hope, rumors, and fake gameplay videos to throw us dedicated TWAU fans off-track.

  • TellTale have said nothing, and like Dragon said, it's all been red herrings and false hopes so far...

Although, it has neither been confirmed nor denied as to whether a Season 2 is coming, so I'm still hoping :)

  • Holy shit, good bye soul it was nice knowing you.

  • second season coming?

  • I'm not sure if I want a season 2. The ending was perfect for the series and what would even season 2 be about. I can't figure out anything that I would like. But if telltales making it they will find a way to make it good.

  • It could continue the cliffhanger of Season 1 could it not? :/

  • Thread: So.... Why isn't Telltale Making a Wolf Among Us Season 2?

To be honest I kind of like this game better than the comics it acts as a prequel to, its my second favourite Telltale game after its Walking Dead series. But had Telltale lost the licensing rights to Fables? I mean with how amazing the game was, and with how it was critically acclaimed I don't understand why Telltale won't even consider a DLC.

I'm afraid, have they just forgotten and outright shelved the Wolf Among Us, in favour of other franchises? Is there any hope of Telltale renewing their interest in time? Or was the Wolf Among Us simply a one-shot, never again to be explored or expanded upon unless you start reading the comics?

    Season 2....:'(

  • Same here, except TWAU is in fact my favourite TTG game (if not favourite game of all time). To answer the question... I think they just lost their minds to be honest, if I had to choose between TWAU, GOT, TWD, TFTB, Minecraft (ugh...), and this whole SuperShow crap, I'd choose TWAU without even thinking about it. As always I have a hopeful theory about the future of TWAU, but I guess it would be pointless to share it, since mentioning second season brings more pain than joy...

  • I heard that TellTale only signed a 1 Season contract with Vertigo, probably to see if the Season did well or not. Turns out it did extremely well!

They're probably negotiating a new contract, or they're thinking of a good enough story, or this that and the other :P

In any case, the game is clearly prepared to be a one-shot given the comic teaser at the end of Ep.5. I don't read comics normally, but Fables is truly something amazing, and I am glad to say this game got me into them :)

TWAU has been so 'forgotten' that I've actually lost interest in it... But I still hope that we get more of it

Chances are it was because they only signed for a single title with Vertigo. With Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, they signed on for "multi-titles" with Skybound and HBO, which gives them the right to punch out multiple seasons. Wolf Among Us, sadly, didn't get this deal.

I think that's the best answer TBH, because there it's not like there is a shortage of stories or characters. Also, the game sold well and has gotten a ton of great reviews and awards.

So yeah, that's probably why. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a DLC, but don't expect a Season 2 because I know I'm not :(

  • To torture us....... Realistically, it probably has something to do with Contracts.

  • And given Willingham's contract with Vertigo, they aren't easy to deal with :P

  • Still, they could work on obtaining a new contract in the meanwhile... It's not like they have to make another season right away, I'm still in hope they're going to try at some point in the future (I can see that there's always a "primary/viral" game and "secondary/niche" game in development at the same time, for ex. TWD and TWAU, GOT and TFTB, Minecrap and something we probably don't know about yet, so once TFTB S1 is going to be finished, why not at least consider a sequel to TWAU? They could easily create a bi or tri-yearly schedule following this manner)

  • Don't TellTale have a new IP coming out? They partnered up with Lionsgate remember...

  • Because they hate us.

  • Yep, but we still don't know what is it, so it's hard to tell if it's going to take the viral or niche spot of the development cycle. I'm still in hope to see Season 2 at some point in the future... or maybe TWD is going to end with S3 and possibly TWAU might take it's slot (fingers crossed)

  • Ugh why does TWD need a Season 3?

I finished Season 2 feeling absolutely fine with every ending I chose, cuz in the end I didn't care anymore :/

I was fine with the cliffhanger endings...

But back on track I would love to see a Season 2 of TWAU XD

  • I agree, TWAU has much more potential than TWD, and Season 2 ending was satisfying enough to end the series at this point. But nope, we're Telltale, our destiny is to annoy the heck out of the fans...

  • We're TellTale?...

    Wishes for more TWAU...

    Yeah nothing happened :P

I finished Season 2 first with Clem on her own (I shot Kenny, never understood why the game always gives you the option to kill him, and abandoned Jane cuz I thought she was crazy) Clem and AJ walking into the herd was enough for me to say "Ok there's more to come..."

But I was in so much shock at having to choose between Kenny, a guy we know and love, or Jane, a badass woman. So I replayed the Episode to get each ending. In the end I decided they were all perfect ends that don't need to be explored :/

  • I voted HELL YES! cuz I feel that more is necessary...

TWAU has been gone for so long that I've lost a lot of interest in it, but I would still like more, especially now that Fables is ending in July :'(

  • edited March 2015

I'd love more of TWAU or at least a DLC. To be honest, though, I don't see it happening any time soon; maybe in a year or two IF they decide to pull forward with it. I'm just looking forward to the ending of FABLES at the moment.

  • HELL YES, Season 2 is a must!

  • TTG seeing our pleas for a 2nd season

  • Do I want one? Hell fucking yes

    Will we get one? No

  • The game sold really well actually. Maybe not as well as Walking Dead, but certainly well.

The game probably didn't sell enough to be considered financially successful enough to warrant a sequel.
