i guess i just come from a forum where the trolls are more talented and less retardo

it's hard to troll people when everything you type is garbled and incoherent, and it ends up just making the troll look really stupid

Okay... I've been called a "troll" before. So, with THAT grain of salt, I ask you:

Do you admit to playing a Telltale game without a walkthrough? I will admit that I am biased of your kind (and you fully reveal yourself with every post) and will gamble good money that you are lazy, like all of your GenY ilk, and resort to a walkthrough, on occasion.

Deny it, if you dare to lie.

who needs a walkthrough for TT games? they're pretty easy if you just keep chipping away at them.

are you that bad at games?

I haven't played ANY TellTale games. So therefore I have not used a walkthrough on any of them. I will admit to using a walkthrough for the Monkey Island games, granted I was like 7 when I started playing them. However, using a walkthrough has nothing to do with waiting for a game. It's simple psychology. If we had to wait 3 years for this game, people would be reacting the same way when it was only 14 days away. We've been waiting 9 years for this game so there is no point in saying that people who "can't wait" for this game are "geeks" and "losers." No one is saying they're going to go burn down a building because they actually can't take the two weeks. So please forgive these people for actually being excited about a game that they've waited 9 YEARS FOR. Also, please get off your pedestal about never having used a walkthrough, you're not better than anyone else for that fact. A video game is made for fun. So what I didn't think to use the monkey on the waterfall pump and looked it up, excuse me. I still beat the game and extremely enjoyed it. Which is what video games are for anyway ENJOYMENT. Now, can we PLEASE get back to discussing the fact that GUYBRUSH THREEPWOOD RETURNS IN 13 DAYS!

Gotta say, pining over a mere fortnight is akin to the impatience of using a walkthrough so your admonishment is unfounded if directed at me, lil' boy. I am talking directly "on topic" to those who "can't wait" a mere 14 days -- Those who invariably use a walkthrough to complete their games.

Hmm. Then explain why you MUST be so condescending.

At least be civil if you are going to speak your mind. Your uncivility and rudeness is the reason people are arguing with you and attacking you in the first place.

Yeah, awesome. Your hair-splitting deconstruction of my post doesn't take away from the fact that you've taken it upon yourself to tank this thread. Dedicating the lion's share of your posts to talking trash about the people posting in this thread is not the way to participate in this forum, whether you're "on topic" or not. You side-stepped the part where you (and others) were advised not to attack other forum members, so you've earned my ire.

Take it easy or take it elsewhere.

Clearly, you don't know how to differentiate excitement and impatience. We are all excited, we as adventure gamers are happy that one of our favorite adventure game series' of all time is making a comeback by one of our favorite adventure game developers. We are not angry at Telltale for not giving it to us right now. That would be impatience. Now, could you please stop posting here so that we could speculate and be happy instead of relentlessly arguing? Thanks.

Anyway, to stay on topic... Will everybody be able to play ToMI as it is released? Because - guess what - I won't. I will be away from home (and I own no laptop) till july 11th, to study. I really don't know what I'll do to fight my growing impatience. Isn't there anyone else in my condition?

Well, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to, I currently have no plans for the 7th, but I think that it will be released later than the 7th in Europe.

What lil' David has yet to explore is the power I have over him. Frankly, he might be too young to learn. However, I will explain it to him and you.

I have paid $35 (approx) to Telltale for "TMI." I could just as easily downloaded it for free. David is now going to bend down and lick my asshole, nice and slow, and respectful-like, because the worst he can do is cancel my order. All that means is I download the game for free. So lil David will now bend down and lick my anus nice and respectful-like, or I will pirate all of his future games with impunity.

This is the power you have as consumers, boys and girls. Don't accept "try it, you'll like it." Tell them in DOLLARS how much you like it. This is a small company and can be brought down easily. All they have to do for their supper is kiss your ass once in a while.

I'm really looking forward to the release of Tales. So much so I've already replayed all the previous games (also replayed Grim Fandango) and now I'm at a loss as to what to do to pass the time.

Here's a little bit of shameless self promotion: Why not play some of the games I created years ago Before coming to Telltale!

I will be abroad with no internet access until the 17th :(

So I'm having it downloaded and posted to me on a disk by a friend. Then I just have to get them to email telltale the game code so i can unlock my game. Anyone know if telltale respond quickly to activation requests?

I'm going to be in York for a week from 4 July, so I'm going to be missing the premiere. Darn, because this is one I want to play immediately, as opposed to the Wallace and Gromit ones which for some reason I don't play until a few weeks after release.

I'll just have to drown myself in Yorkshire ales, pretend its grog and go pillage a farming community near Sheffield to make up for the lack of piracy. I'd wouldn't mind going to sack Philadelphia on 4 July instead, but we have to make some sacrifices.

What makes you say that? Being digital download, the game is released worldwide simultaneously. The only way for it not to be released on the 7th in Europe is if TTG releases it late enough that it technically is the 8th on the other side of the Atlantic.

    * Play Johnny Rocketfingers 2 (free online)
    * Go to ScummVMs site and download a few games there.
    * Play Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2.

Looking for some classic gaming nostalgia?

I recommend GOG.com (Good Old Games). I've found their service to be excellent and their games are very attractively priced (there's even a bunch of free ones!). Best part: NO DRM! Yay! At least some people "get it".
  • edited June 2009
I've still got a fair amount of ScummVM compatible games (as well as others) that I haven't beaten yet. But the wife and I are currently tackling MI2 (which neither of us have actually beaten).

    what about a wiiware countdown
  • edited June 2009
Now it's 10 days left, and only one day until the countdown is in the single digits.....what? I'm not obsessing, really.

There's very few ScummVM games I haven't completed, so I've been spending my time playing all sorts of various games, point-and-click adventures and otherwise. Right now I'm playing Robin Hood: Legend of Sherwood.. not to be confused with Conquest of the Longbow, although that's an awesome adventure game.

Most likely it is a more recent screenshot than the E3 ones, so they've had more chance to work on the lighing/shaders/over all visual polish. We can probably expect the whole game to look as good as this or better once it is released, and I suspect it'll look even better in motion.

Wow! Yeah, 10 days. I check the site everyday just to check the countdown. And the forum as well of course.

I haven't played an adventure game in a while since Sam an Max Season 2. I'm mantaining all my adventure hunger for TOMI! And SOMI SE surely.

Yes, I think people over reacted when they critized the graphics so much. This is really a game you need to see in motion to apreciate its art style.
