Murray and Stan are overrated!
What's with everyone's infatuation with these two characters? There are countless other characters I'd rather see return in TOMI than either of them.

I wouldn't mind Murray returning but only if:
- He has an important role to play in the game rather than a background cameo you can choose to avoid.
- The graphic artists don't just resort to a sphere on a spike. Make him have eye expressions like Manny Calavera.
- Denny Delk does the voice. Having said that though I have every confidence the guys will find equally comparable voice talent to Delk if they have someone else playing him.

"Ohhhh Cabannna Boy"
"That oil is solely for the fry station technician"
"That beach is for members only"
"Those towels are for members of the beach club only"
How can you beat this guy ? ......You cant!
Stan, while a far more plausible character, is a parody of cliché high pressure salesmen. Coupled with high hyperactivity and his outrageous demands for items that a pirate may be unlikely to consider buying (aside from used ships) to begin with... To be honest I don't know what's funny about him, specifically, but rest assured the rest of us do. Don't rain on our parade!
UH? more like the complete opposite of what you just sed! Stan and Murray were only cool up until CMI... in EMI murray and stan were forced in and Stan had a stupid voice... bring back Pat Pinney!
Murray wasn't even in SMI or MI2. His debut was in CMI.
everyone in this forum has played all 4 games, shit like this goes without saying!!
But it still stands...how can one think Murray was cool in SMI and MI2 if he wasn't even credited?
I like to believe that too
Stan…I don't know. I've always found him the same way I find all persistent, gabby salesmen - annoying as all hell. But he is a necessary annoyance and it just wouldn't be the same without that mosquito in your ear trying to sell used crap you inevitably need to get anywhere in the adventure.
Murray is relaxing.
+1
I allways thought that Murray joined LeChuck's crew before CMI.
I want that both of them will come back, but if I could chose one of them then I would stick to Stan, because he was here from the start, even though his part in EMI was terrible.
Let's be friends .
I'd rather not see at all them than only see them in a fan-pleasing cameo, unless it was the best fan pleasing cameo in the world.
Agreed, get out.
Stan isn't all that great, really, he's funny but...People you want to see back more than Murray? WHO? The only thing cooler than Murray is GUYBRUSH!
This.
I want Stan back more than Murray as Stan has been a complete constant (and is like the fifth main character). Murray has been a half-constant just like the Men of Low Moral Fiber, and Wally has been a constant in appearance and by the mention of his name.
But every GOOD Monkey Island game was able to introduce new memorable characters that everyone grew to love deeply. And I'm sure Telltale will be bringing many interesting and memorable ones to the fold this time around as well. And don't let even the first episode be the main indication. Sometimes the most memorable characters weren't met until the last half of the game. I can't wait to see what they'll come up with.
I felt a little bit sorry for him when Guybrush turned Murray down for the anchor. He seemed... sad. So if Murray wasn't in TOMI, I would be dissapointed.
While I love Stan, since he's a really interesting and entertaining character, I do prefer having Murray instead of him on TOMI. Though both would be best.
As for Stan.. It's a bit weird, i think he got worse and worse by every episode... The basic idea of having him in all games selling you different crap each time is a good one (kind of what telltale did with bosco in the same and max games, although it grew old faster due to the higher number of episodes).
But yeah, stan was just GREAT in SMI. Seeing him again in LeChuck's revenge was cool, and the coffin joke was gold. Then... Having him step out of the coffin in CMI sure was awesome, but the charcacter started to get boring after that (i dont know why, but somehow i never liked the fact he was selling life insurances, yeah i get the joke, i just don't think it's fun). And finally in EMI, he was just annoying and lousy (i don't even remember what he was selling then but it was something lame).
So reusing him again ? Why not, but it has to be really well done.
All this to say that even if i don't really agree with the first post, i'll join the team who basically doesn't want them back.
