Safest Stronghold
Ok between all the places we were at in TWD games (both season 1&2) what place was the safest from zombies and allowed you to keep an eye out for humans, and would serve as a good place to hold up for survival. (try and consider the place itself, the layout, the building of it, vantage points, etc)
- Hershels Farm
- the Drug store
- The motor inn
- The St. John Dairy (minus the saint johns)
- Staying on the train
- The mansion
- Crawford
- The 400 days gas station
- the cabin
- the lodge
- Howes
- Parkers Run
- The deck where rebecca had the baby (my personal choice bc its elevated so no surprises from walkers or humans and there is shelter from the rain)
- The house we're at when clem gets shot

The moonshine shed. Let's get drunk!
Seriously I think Kenny's Ski Lodge would have been perfect. I think it was elevated or at the very least a steep climb to keep herds away (I guess). That wind turbine was a cool idea. Crows like that place, so theirs food right there lol jk. Establish a good defensive perimeter around the area and they would have been in business.
The Lodge or the observation deck.
The Lodge would be a good place because the ski lifts are perfect for a look out. The place was a decent size, good for a medium sized group. They had power, noisy power but they still had it. It also has a lake (as Carlos defined it) close so water wouldn't be hard to come by. The only bad part about it is the windows, find a lot of wood and it should be ok but otherwise that would be a problem.
The observation deck is another good place because well, the deck is gone for a start. The only way someone can get up there is by the stairs which can be sealed off. It's a good area with a river nearby and has an open space around it making it clear if there's any danger.
The Train.
Close the doors the walkers will never get in.
Howe's was good too, if it weren't for a group of shitbirds.
Howe's.
From the list: either Howe's or the lodge
Me personally: Wellington.
Flying Island.
The mansion.
Demolish the stairs so no walkers can get up to the second floor should they happen to get into the house. Do the same with the neighbouring buildings after breaking through the walls.
The rooftops are great to get around town, and to escape trouble.
I was going to include that but we haven't seen inside yet.
How do you know Wellington is the best?
Walls like that, it seems pretty secure. And if they're able to hand out supplies to people, then it's not like they're running necessarily low on them. The only big problem is the possible overpopulation.
flying island? Did I miss something?
Are you saying you didn't get the Flying Island bonus ending? The one with Luke living.
I second that. The lodge was perfect and they fucked it all up.
no....is that some sort of joke?
As always, I find Howe's Hardware extremely valuable. Solar panels for electricity, green house for fresh produce, many more can be included on the expansion. Plus, all that space, more for any kind of supplies, and other survivors. And the fortifications can be improved upon, such as some machine gun sentries on the roof or automatic grenade launchers.
Make a barricade around the parking lot with assorted automobiles. Plus the other smaller buildings can be put to constructive use. Play your cards right and that place can stand for a good long while.
Sure, Howe's may have a bad reputation for housing Carver's community, but the former occupants have left for parts unknown, so why not keep it and run it the right way, the more humane way?
Yup lol apparently a really bad one, sorry.
