Your favorite pure voice acting moment from S2

I'm ready to argue this series has probably some of the best VA in video game history, and there are more than a few performances in S2 that only prove it. Melissa Hutchison and Gavin Hammon are amazing, as always, but the most memorable scene of S2, IMO, belonged to one of the smaller characters.

As a character, Carlos tends to get a lot of flak from the fans, but when he screamed "Rebecca, don't look! Oh my God!!" after Kenny's attempt to kill Carver goes awry, it was astonishing to see this formerly stern, stoic man lose control. Andrew Chaikin deserves major kudos for that performance.

  • "You should probably think about being nicer to me."

The moment where I knew... No matter what stupid shit might happen in S2... That Clementine is one of my favorite characters in anything ever.

  • Gavin Hammon in the Kenny endings is probably one of the best performances, it really shows what a great character Kenny is. I know there are a lot of people who don't like him, and I can understand why they do, but Kenny has always been someone who looked out for his family as well as the people he considers family, and I do believe he considers both Clementine and AJ as family. He is willing to do anything to ensure his family's safety, which is why he begs the people of Wellington to let those two in, and his performance really shows just how much Kenny does care for Clementine and AJ's well being. How he pleads with not only Edith but also Clem and AJ to go into Wellington makes the scene as emotional as it is.

    • Kenny's stupor. "...Clementine?"

    • After Walter discovers the knife and Clementine got to talk with him outside. The tension... Hearing Walter moving on from a calm, cold confession "I've always liked this knife" to the voice full of grief and anger. Nick's apology was also very well done.

    • Reggie trying to explain himself to Carver. "Bill, I- Shut up, shut up, shut the fuck up." I know a lot of people find Reggies voice annoying, but I think it suited perfectly to the character he represented.

    • Camfire scene. They just talked, but it felt cosy, peaceful and warm. Everything was damn perfect.

    • The frozen lake. Again, the tension; Luke's voice full of panic yet still stubborn and worried, Bonnie's "Hurry up, Clem!", everyone screaming. My brain overheated, my heart was pounding like a frickin' jungle drum.

    • Kenny screaming in pain after Jane sticked her fingers in his wounded eye. It was so real it hurted, I couldn't listen to this, and it made me immediately pull her off him.

Also, I really enjoyed Mr Madsen's acting. I love listening to Carver's voice.

  • Christa after Omid is shot as the beginning of S2.. When she sit's down with him and cries and ask's if he can hear her.. That scene, those emotions, to this day still get to me.

  • Kenny: "...Clementine?"

and of course Lee has to be in every single one of my posts because I love him so much

Lee: "Oh I wouldn't do that.... I promise."

    Have a good one :)

  • Not just one of the best VAs in a video game, but also one of the best soundtracks ever.

Luke losing his temper towards the end of episode 4 (when he's trying to justify his fun time with Jane)

Luke during the campfire sequence, and when he's on the ice ("just go back, just go back...")

Practically all of Kenny's scenes (whether you like Kenny or not, you really can't deny that Gavin does a fantastic job)

Practically all of Sarah's scenes (if there's a performance that is vastly underrated, it'd be Louisa Mackintosh as Sarah. Lots of range, and her panic attacks/screams of despair are incredibly convincing)

Most of Arvo's scenes (again, like him or not, Michael Ark did one hell of a job voicing him)

Practically all of Carver's scenes, because Michael Madsen

Most of Nick's scenes, particularly his scenes in the moonshine shed and the confrontation with Walter

Pete's final moments at the beginning of episode 2

    Lee during the flashback sequence

  • You gotta think fuggen skull Kenneth shoulda put you outta your misery right then now look at you you're a mess. (Funniest part was that it was such a serious deadly line while having a loaded gun at his side)

Gotta be the Kenny endings. Both Gavin and Melissa really did a fantastic job there.

  • I can't believe that no one has said "Luke, he's becoming a danger to the group"

  • Man everyone did a fantastic job voice acting. I could go on forever with this list.

    Luke & Clem dinner scene

Nick's depressing thoughts inside the Moonshine shed.

    Pete's final moments.

Kenny missing Duck & Katjaa at the campfire scene.

  • Oh my god. That makes me sad thinking about it.

  • “Listen. Okay? Listen. This is your chance. For you, and this boy. I don't trust myself to keep you two safe...not anymore. Please...I'm begging you, please stay here...stay here where it's safe. Where you two'll have a chance.”

“No. No. No. Why are you doing this?”

“Because it’s the only way...for both of you. Think about Alvie here....please, Clem, just do as I’m askin'...this one last time. You’ll meet people...you'll make friends...people better than me...good people...that don’t have to look at you...and feel ashamed at what they've put you through...please, Clem, please...where you won't have to sleep with a gun next to you every night...where you can be a kid for a while...”

“No! We’re leaving! All of us. Together.”

“Clem, please. It's safe here. You need to think about the--”

“Stop! Stop, okay? We're not staying, so just stop.”

    [...]

“You're as stubborn as a damn mule.”

“Yeah? Wonder where I got that from?”
