Top 3 writers for the game.

The Walking Dead Game has had a total of 9 writers over the course of 10 episodes and one DLC. Those writers are:

  1. Sean Vanaman: head writer of Season 1, wrote episodes 1, 3, and 5, had a writing credit on 400 Days, and an additional writing credit on All That Remains
  2. Mark Darin: wrote Starved for Help, wrote Shel's story in 400 Days, and had an additional writing credit on Amid the Ruins (he was also the designer for No Time Left, All That Remains, and Amid the Ruins, and designers also have a big role in the writing of an episode)
  3. Gary Whitta: called in as a narrative consultant for Season 1, wrote Around Every Corner, had a writing credit on 400 Days
  4. Sean Ainsworth: had a writing credit on 400 Days, designed No Time Left and In Harms Way
  5. Nick Breckon: had a writing credit on 400 Days, was Season 2's head writer, wrote A House Divided, co-wrote All That Remains and No Going Back, had an additional writing credit on Amid the Ruins
  6. Andrew Grant: co-wrote All That Remains
  7. Pierre Shorette: wrote In Harms Way, co-wrote No Going Back, had additional writing credits on No Time Left, All That Remains, and Amid the Ruins
  8. Eric Stirpe: designer throughout Season 2, co-wrote Amid the Ruins
  9. J.T Petty: co-wrote Amid the Ruins

With that in mind, what are your top 3 writers from the game. Mine would be:

  1. Sean Vanaman
  2. Nick Breckon
  3. Pierre Shorette

Note: please don't use this thread to attack Season 2 or its writers, all I'm asking for is a simple opinion, no need to start lambasting Season 2

  • Mark Darin.

  • Do you have two others, I asked for top 3.

Sean Vanaman. Really I liked all the episodes I don't really hate any of the writers but Sean is the one who essentially started the story of Lee and Clem.

But, but I've got a really good Tommy Wiseau joke! You can't do this to me! T_T nuuuuuu!

And I guess my top fav writers for TWDG would be: Sean Vanaman, Nick Breckon and Gary Whitta.

  • Thank you for holding back

  • You're welcome, although...I don't have anything bad to say about them anyway o_o

    Thank you for holding back

  • Even though Breckon co-wrote No Going Back, you're "favorite" episode of all time.

    1) Sean Vanaman - it's a shame that he left Telltale but what can we do, it was his choice :(

    2) Nick Breckon - I love every episode that he wrote. <3

    3) Mark Darin - Starved for Help was a very good episode but I like all the other works that he did too (Shel's story etc.)

  • If you hadn't heard, Vanaman is releasing a new game at some point in 2015 called Firewatch, developed by Campo Santo (which he formed with Jake Rodkin).

I heard, watched and liked it (I'm thinking even about buying it) but still - it's a shame that he left Telltale. Maybe Season 2 would be better. I still like Season 2, it was great but... you know, Season 1 is unmatched so far.

  • That's the material, not the writers ;_; besides, he wrote the two episodes and I loved those...
