whoops I woke up this morining all excited it would be there but forgot that 7th is probably in the US not over here. ohh well 1 day to go again then :P
I don't think that I will DL tommorow because I rather have a copy that I can keep to myself FOREVER ... DL copies are so easy to loose copies of and it's not reliable. I did that with S&M and I lost most the games...until I bought them on a season release DVD ...

Dont we get the DVD and the download version with pre orders?
I won't be able to play till after work, will properly get the email saying its available which will make me want work to finish early as possible. At least I have next week off so can play MI:SE as soon as its up on Steam.
Hours minutes seconds countdown was really needed, especially with the number of international gamers here. I'm from AUS, and it seems that I'll have to wait until the 8th. It's a bit annoying, as it will be released at like 2am on the 8th for me, and it never states anywhere it will be released the 7th American Time.

It's pretty obvious considering it's a US site that the times refer to US dates.
They do not do a 'minutes, hours, seconds' countdown, because they can't guarantee that sort of release accuracy. And then all hell would break loose if there was a hiccup and the timer hit zero and no game was available. Also, it takes time for the notification mailout, so some people get their notifications earlier than others.
A global simultaneous release is just that, not midnight in one's own timezone. Imagine that logistical nightmare that would be, not to mention the unfair hours on the support team.
It's been 10 years of waiting, another few hours won't kill you, and you will have waited the exact same amount of time (email delivery variation notwithstanding) as EVERYBODY ELSE...

Well there's already a review out on shacknews. I'm not gonna link to it because its less than favorable, but they seem to be criticizing what the game is not instead of reviewing what the game is. So can't take it seriously, the fact they went early with their review makes it even more annoying.

I think I'd prefer to see a review by someone who hasn't played the old games. It's too easy to twist games you played years ago and loved into an ideal that's impossible to live up to.
Why was the shacknews reveiwer complaining about Guybrush's design? He looks like a combination of how he looks is LeChuck's Revenge and Curse of Monkey Island.

I've never played any MI game so i'm gonna ignore the review really. A Adventure game with comedy is a good game compared to most others being released not naming any.
Thats why we in 2009 have a feature created that is called preload Telltale could use that as well as steam
Pre-loading might be a fine solution for games that have already had discs "go missing" from the production factories, but when the games premier is digital distribution only, pre-loading just gives the game to software pirates before the paying customers. I think I prefer no timer to pre-loading.

Don't most Steam preloads not download a couple of critical files? i.e. in the case of Half Life games, they'd download all of the textures and sound files etc. in advance, but the main (and quite small) executable wouldn't be available until the game was released.

I'm not sure how Steam pre-loads work, but if that is the case, then this method increases the complexity of the setup, therefor increases production costs. It also increases the number of things that can go wrong when downloading and installing the game, potentially increasing support costs.

I hope there's a lot of jokes, monkeys, insult fighting, and pirates in this game !

Gah.
I will have to play it at 2am in the morning. Which sucks. So that's another few hours I have to wait until the reasonable hours of the morning.
So we are waiting longer.
thanks for the replies guys!!
really excited about this now!

Because he grew older...
Well, I know I haven't!:D

Surely 1201 PST is a universal embargo time, which would be in 7 hours?
