Series becoming a bit formulaic?

Although I love both Seasons 1 and Season 2, there is something that has been bothering me. Walking Dead is becoming a bit predictable. I don't know if you will agree with me, but I wish that determinant characters never existed at all. Although Carley's death was a surprise in Chapter 3 I cannot say the same thing about the deaths of Nick, or Sarah. Even if they are saved they simply become a background character that doesn't say or do much.

Both seasons involve, meeting a new group of survivors whom usually end up dead before the end of the season. And these survivors usually look for a safe haven that turns out to be not so safe. As I said I had fun with both seasons but I hope that Telltale breaks the mold a bit in Season 3.

I am glad that they are taking their time with the franchise, and I hope that they will surprise us with the third season.

I am simply afraid that they exhausted all the possible plot points and interesting twists with Season 1 and Season 2. We had people robbing each other, cannibals, people betraying their group, people shooting their teammates, survivors that could blend in with the zombies...

I don't read the comics so I am not sure if there are any interesting twists or turns that are not covered in the game yet. I read somewhere that there was a group of people that allied themselves with the zombies in comics. I am not sure if this is true or not but it could be an interesting twist. if there are any comic book readers here, please enlighten me.

There is also a dilemma about Wellington. If it is truly a safe place, then Clem's journey is over. If Wellington is not safe then, I don't think she will ever be safe and it will be strange to end the game with just three seasons. The finale wouldn't feel conclusive enough. Unless they choose to kill of Clem at the end of the series. This could create another problem. Everything Lee did would be pointless.

How do you think the series will end, and how do you want it to end?

  • I think part of the issue was that S2 got put on the back burner to the new project TT decided to take on. It just seemed like there wasn't as much love. There are inconsistencies in S1, but there are also a lot of little things that tie the episodes together that somehow overshadow those inconsistencies.

Another thing is, this type of game is not meant to be played over and over again. Now that the cats outta the bag, we know what to expect. The things is, TT did nothing improve on this issue in S2 and in turn, made it even more painfully obvious that are choices don't really matter. TT could've made it so several characters survive into S3, but instead reinforced the precedent that every character that PC will ever meet will end up dead or unknown by the season's end

But, having said that, I still enjoyed S2 and really liked playing as Clementine. I really hope they continue on with her story as the PC. I hope TWDG doesn't end for long time, but I don't think they have to kill Clementine to end it, although to would certainly and permanently end Clementine's story. I think the way they should end it is after a few more season and end it with Clementine becoming the leader of a colony or starting her own colony with a group of survivors that have survived with her to the end
