How could someone be obsessed with Fivel?

Could someone please explain this to me..... It doesn't make sense to me. How could someone like a character if they don't know what that character was like? He could have been a mean little shit or he could have been good boy.

So I came across a person on facebook who really likes Fivel the character who appears as a walker in "Around Every Corner" from season 1. His profile pic is Fivel. His account is loaded with pics of this character, his family and his dog.

Well we all have something that draws us to certain characters. Perhaps he likes the mystery surrounding Five'll and his family.

I usually find myself cheering for the underdogs for instance.

Here's a simple rule: no matter what kind of character you create, someone will either hate or love them. If you make a character that is literally the nicest most loyal and trustworthy character ever, someone somewhere will still hate them. Likewise, if you make the most reprehensible and horrible character that has absolutely no redeeming traits of any sort, someone somewhere will still love them and consider them their favorite character.

Hell, you could make a character that is literally just a blade of grass, and someone somewhere would legitimately and un-ironically love that character.

Bottom line: people are incredibly weird, and what some people like/hate just doesn't make any sense at all, and there is no explaining it. Like, at all.

  • This obsession is one of the more disturbing things I've heard..

  • He was probably moved by his story and what happened to him and his family, and felt sorry for him. Maybe he wants to "honor" him somehow.

  • I guess some people are intrigued by mystery. I was going on about Crawford for a while because I didn't know a lot about it

  • He's probably just joking like people do with chet

    I love Fivel.

To much bad things happened with poor little boy...

  • I don't know. I can understand the sympathy but that's it.

  • sounds like they're joking

  • It doesn't matter if he was a little shit or not. Nobody should suffer a fate like his.

  • Maybe he sees himself, or someone he knows as that character. People make connections for all sorts of reasons.

  • I remember about a year ago, me and one other guy was the only person who liked Nate. You should search for some of these hate threads on Nate.

  • What I think of when I hear "Fivel"

  • I myself prefer the Howe's Characters and some bandits from season 1 over lots of characters
Not to the point i will replace all my stuff w/it

  • idk like back in episode 1 of season 2 when I had my doubts about Luke being so nice, and that maybe he was gonna turn on us or something, I still liked him a lot. so yeah idk :/

  • Opinions, people just like characters, heck, I'm one of those people who often loves and prefers minor characters over major ones lol

  • Perhaps the concept of the character and what he potentially went through? The boy was all alone when the whole zombie thing happened, his parents never came home and he had to bury his dog who probably starved to death too. He died all alone.

It could be from that he's just created his own version of what Fivel was like in his imagination, like how people create headcanons for characters.

  • Heh, I was obsessed with Sarita for a while. I don't even know why, she was so bland but for some reason I can never hate the women in media. I don't know why but my mind does not allow it.

  • It sounds like that person is a necrophiliac.
