Walking Dead and Walker Stalker SDCC
First off, I am a really big fan of Season 1 and 2. I noticed my post on the main blog for the SDCC event was deleted and the thread closed.
For anyone that attended the Walker Stalker event at this year's San Diego Comic Con you may have noticed a distinct separation between Comic Con and the events happening at Petco Park. There was no relationship between the two( I confirmed with SDCC Staff) - unlike the plethora of offsite events who welcome Comic Con attendees and offer free/discounted admission to their events with a badge.
Why am I bringing this up? The gentlemen behind Walker Stalker created the SDCC event with the sole purpose of siphoning off the main event's business. SDCC attendees were not recognized as special guests, despite their overwhelming presence and the main reason why a Walker Stalker event could even be held there. You take away Comic Con you have no Walker Stalker, you have no reenactment.
Why am I posting this here? My son and I wanted to see the voice only reenactment of the Walking Dead video game. You have to pay for the entire Walker Stalker event: $30 for adults, $10 for kids. Doesn't seem like a lot until you factor in the cost of your SDCC excursion: hotel for a week ($1,100), gas from San Francisco to San Diego ($140), food ($150), tickets to SDCC ($225), parking ($85), and those are the expenses you can't get around.
$40 is not earth-shattering, but its the principle behind the pricing scheme which led to a high number of Walking Dead fans not attending the Petco Park event. Many outside the gate asked the Walker Stalker staff why they didn't offer guest privileges or a discount to SDCC badgeholders.
We missed an incredible opportunity to see the cast of our beloved game because a few men refused to consider the SDCC populace in their pricing scheme. Before you continue business with this firm, please consider the fans attending the site. Thank you.
