The voodoo lady didnt quite work. Having no clue of whats going on, she is completely demystified while talking about her former lovers. There are other things I didnt like. I voted 'decent'.
After a few hours I voted very good and now after finishing the game it still stands. Some of my minor issues are:
* A bit too easy... Gybrush could not help himself giving away hints though I set it to 0
* "Dragging" around Gybrush (give me point-n-click)
* Inventory...to many steps to combine and investigate(magnifying glas could be replaced by right-click ie)
I thought the game was outstanding, but I voted for very good. I got a bit picky over the wording of the poll. If you put "I wouldn't change a thing" I would have taken it as a figure of speech, but since it said "one", I took it the poster meant it literally. There is always something you would change with a game, even if you made it yourself. There are several things I would do different, but that doesn't stop it from being an outstanding game.
I voted "Very Good" ...it's a great game, I'd only change the cameraworks, beacuse sometimes it's difficult to see some objects or paths (for example in the jungle when we have to follow the maps)....anyway, I'd love to see more games like this:p
'Very Good'. The only thing that disappointed me was that Michael Land's new monkey island theme felt like it was done on a small budget. Too many synthesised sounds, not nearly enough embelishments of CMI's opening theme. From the Sam and Max music I know they have the resources and potential to make game soundtracks with real instruments and Jared helped out with the voice recording. Maybe he should lend a hand with Michael on the music.
Great start in a new era of Monkey Island Adventures
Grapics are ok, and really good Animations... the Story is exactly
what we want see in an MI - Game... awesome!
But perhaps a few things you can make better for the next Episodes?!?
1. Controlls are ok, but in Sam&Max we can see that Point`n Click
will run with you Engine, so please realize that, its perfekt for PC
and Wii Adventure - Gaming !!!
2. A little bit more Details at the Graphic would be great... some more
Textures... a little more Variety... more living in the Towns - at Example
i think it would have been nice when the third trip in the Jungle
has been at Night in the Moonlight ... thats the point to bring the
the atmospaere back to the begin of the series
I liked this game, but as I feared it was too easy, I completed it without having to really think about any of the puzzles twice, I think they just need an option to make the game more difficult like they did in MI3 thats the best way round this problem cos tbh thats one of the most important things to me, I dont want to figure it out straight away I want to get stuck a bit. Also the controls seemed off a bit and difficult to use, the same method would be fine but there was defo something off that needs sorting out for the next game. I'm not to bothered that there werent any old charaters in yet cos its only the 1st part of a 5 part game.
After a few hours I voted very good and now after finishing the game it still stands. Some of my minor issues are:
* A bit too easy... Gybrush could not help himself giving away hints though I set it to 0
yeah i noticed that as well, yet on wallis and gromit it didnt give any hints at all when set at zero. Its not just that though it was too easy without guybrush hinting.
Somewhere between good and very good, overall very nice episode, the map quest(s) was little vaque, and Im not sure if I even understand the logic behind it, without the "right & wrong" sound I would have been stuck there for a long time.
Other minus comes from the audio quality.
Other stuff was good though, dialogue, jokes, puzzles, and even though the graphics are simple, they fit the theme nicely.
I loved Chapter 1 and am looking forward to the next ones. Feels really "Monkey Island-y" and if I didn't know better, I would say that it was made by LucasArts. The controls are still a little awkward, because I can't quite decide, whether to move Guybrush with the mouse or with the keyboard (I prefer keyboard movement though for it being more accurate). But I guess through the next few chapters I'll get the hang of it.
Even after the first chapter I can already say, that I will definitely preorder the (hopefully coming) second season as soon as possible.
Great game, telltale should just continue like that with the other episodes.
Although I would have prefered an updated MI3-like style of graphics with a beautifully drawn 2d environment. Take a look at some "The Whispered World" screenshots.. well don't mind the butt-ugly protagonist, but that kind of graphics would have been awesome. Anyhow, I know that would probably be far beyond telltale's budget and they certainly have done the best with their limited resources. Telltale - if you ever get rich, promise me to make another ultra-expensive-graphics-and-music-budget-MI with your sense of humor
I'm completely new to PC gaming. A guy I worked with was really excited about this and I kind of got caught up in his enthusiasm. It was so much fun, though I did struggle with the keyboard controls at first. The gameplay is awesome. It was fun figuring out the puzzles. I can't wait for the next episode. You guys should tell me what the next best game these guys put out is.
Outstanding has my vote, though I will admit I would have preferred Point and Click navigation, I don't think the game suffered from the new movement controls and my enthusiasm remains as strong as it was before I played the new episode.
Plus another new element for me with Taletale is the fantastic community and communication here in these message boards.
I voted Very Good because this really felt like the opening chapter of a full game. I reckon the best parts of the series is yet to come and that’s when it should (hopefully) enter Outstanding territory. My only complaint is the 180mb download size. I wish they didn’t feel they needed to compress the audio so much. The game however was fantastic and it’s great to be playing a new MI game again!
extremely disappointed with the dialogue system at times and also not too happy about the controls and camera... but the game is so perfect in every other way that I voted "very good".
Very good. Apart from the controls which were a little awkward. I much preferred the Sam & Max control scheme. Otherwise, Telltale did a fantastic job!
Loved it for many reasons (I may write up a review on the details) - this is a very good first episode. I felt the humour department is slightly lacking - there are some very good gags in there, but I'd expect more of them. I hope this will ramp up as the season advances - I voted the second best option for now.
just played the demo. i kinda dont like the fact that is 3d(and i am a 3d artist). i miss the 2d toon look from the third game. Also, it seems that the game lacks of production values...
aside that its good to be back for more Swashbuckling.
First of all, i think the game was good (if you didnt expect the best MI ever) and i voted for option 2 (i would have voted something between option 2-3, if something like that would exist ).
Pros:
I have to say i feeled MI when i played ToMI. Eventhough some will disagree, i just think it was a good enough game and earned the "Monkey Island" in "ToMI".
I also like the cinematics and look of ToMI and cant wait for the next one.
I really didnt expect an extraordinary perfect story (as far as the first episode goes), but i have to say that for now the story is very good imho.
I´m normally not a person that laugh out loud, even if i am really amused by something especially not if im alone and playing a game, but i had at least 3-4 moments where i did
Cons:
Please get point-and-click back as an option, i really expected ToMI to be point-and-click after MI4. I think many people agree with me at this point. I got used to it, and wont be to disappointed if the other episodes will stay like this, even if i would prefer point-and-click because its just the best option for advantures.
I know it´s "just one episode" but i still thought it was pretty short and/or too easy, that leads me to my last point ->
AfaIR you could chat much more in the "old" MI. For example: You just talked to someone and you want something from him. So you go ask other people and talk about him. Eventually you will get some info that will help you in some sort, like black mailing him. You now can go back and talk again to him and you´ll get somehow what you want. This is what i missed most and this would also improve the game length and difficulty of ToMI.
edit: I forgot to say that AfaIR you could also talk about more things with nearly all people around. Like in ToMI at the beginning were u could get Elaine to shout at you . I knida miss this, i would prefer if there would be even more chatting, and not only -> "Okay i have to do this, and i will only do this and i already know how to do it before i even asked somebody for help, or i find random items or triggers that will help.. "
Still the game was good, even if i wrote many "cons", but only because i want the game to be as good as it can be.
I hope someone from telltale will read my post and/or the next episodes will include more chatting and things i mentioned above.

You`re on the right way! Thx Telltale !!!
I'm totally satisfied and want to thank all of those people at telltale and most of the original cast and everyone else who worked hard on this game.
Hopefully more adventures to come after this one!
