Should I?

I love the TT GoT games and I'm currently playing through TWD Season 1 and enjoying it. How does TWAU compare?

  • TWAU is my all-time favorite game series by TTG. It has changed my life so much....

For a start, it is a fantasy series that serves as a prequel to a comic called Fables (definitely check out Fables and it's spin-offs!) You play as The Big Bad Wolf, one of the toughest and most awesome protagonists used/created by TellTale to date!

The objective of the series is to solve a murder. TWAU does use fairytale characters and myths as the main cast, that is the point of the series; but they are all mature and interesting to an adult audience.

Fables and TWAU have their share of swearing, violence and nudity. The game has intense action scenes, a deep plot, awesome characters, and if the ending didn't get you into the comics like it did me, then I'll be surprised :P

Anything else you wanna know? :)

  • Thanks! I'm definitely going to check it out.

  • TWAU is a fantastic game, not as good as TWD Season 1, but it has a very interesting story with some awesome characters (the greatest of which makes her first appearance in Episode 3). You should definitely check it out, and once you're done with that, you should start playing Tales From the Borderlands and Game of Thrones.

  • I've played the GoT games waiting for the finale episode :)

    Good man!

    I guarantee you won't be disappointed! :D

I initially wasn't going to play TWAU because the premise of fairytale characters didn't appeal to me in the slightest... But I gave it a try after months of avoiding it, and then kicked myself for not starting it sooner!

TWAU and Fables turned me into a fanfiction writer AND brought me to this forum! XP

I like Game of Thrones and Walking Dead Season 1 more personally, but Wolf Among Us is still fucking great and worth playing. If you enjoy the universe and characters, you can then read the Fables comic series, which are amazing too.

  • You have no idea how upset I am that I didn't start Wolf Among Us sooner and been on the forums for it from Ep1. Last summer was a good fucking time with Ep4 and 5 and how a bunch of people (including myself) were getting into the comics, but it would have been even better to be here for it from the beginning ;(

  • I agree man. I started reading Fables in late September...

I started playing TWAU on the day that Ep.3 came out! XD

  • I started Wolf Among Us practically around the same time strangely enough. I was looking on Telltale's Twitter for Walking Dead news but I saw that they were getting ready to launch Wolf Ep3 so I decided to give it a shot and it all just took off from there.

I started reading Fables like a couple days after Episode 5 ended.

  • I was actually looking for TWD S2 news on PSN and I came across the reveal for Ep.3. So I decided to give the free trial a go...

I played that trial 5 times over cuz it was so good, and then I bought the Season Pass :D

I CONSIDERED buying Fables for a while... Then gave in :P

  • Well it's a rainy day here so I'm going to finish TWD Season 1 (on Episode 4 now) and then check out the first episode of TWAU!

  • Ah, in that case never mind.

  • Damn you're in for a good (and emotional, considering you're wrapping up Walking Dead) day. Have fun m8

  • I found The Wolf Among Us to be a lot more relaxing and captivating than GoT and TWD. TWD is my favorite show, and I really like the game, and I also really like GoT, so nothing against them, but there's something about TWAU that I can't explain. Definitely worth playing.

Even though you're already playing might as well add my two cents. It's definitely my second favorite Telltale game, just behind Tales from the Borderlands.

  • Well. It's awesome! there are fight scenes in each episodes and you play as a badass progotanist :D

  • I agree with you on that one.

TWAU just drew me in and never let me go, and I was so tense for all the time leading up to the releases of new Episodes!

  • Yes there are fights in every episode, but that may not necessarily be a good thing. I feel the fight between Bigby and Beast in Episode 2 felt really forced and was simply put in just so there could be a fight in the episode, since their hadn't been that much action in that episode at all.

Great game, you should definitely check it out. It's my second favorite telltale game

    1. The Walking Dead Season One
    2. The Wolf Among Us
    3. The Walking Dead Season Two
    4. Game Of Thrones
    5. Tales From The Borderlands
  • But... but... Shubba! :(

  • Though you're playing, I'm gonna put in my thoughts.

It is one of the greatest Telltale games there is. I felt connected to Bigby the entire time, even the other characters.

I loved the fighting, the dialogue, and the choices.

    Awesome game.

  • TWAU was very beautifully crafted, and a very faithful adaptation/prequel to the Fables comics.

I always described it as like... fantastic dark twists on classic fairy tales, with sort of an eighties-era detective film noir flavor. That's how I describe it quickly to get people to want to play it. :)
