One thing I wish it had was...

TWD opening theme? I love that the GoT series has it. Makes it feel authentic. Why don't they use it in TWD?

  • Sorry, double post.

You see, it makes sense for Game of Thrones to have the title music of the TV show because it's based on the TV show. If it was based on the books then it likely wouldn't have the title music, and the characters would look different than they do on TV. TV Tyrion is way too handsome to be book Tyrion. The Walking Dead game inhabits the universe of the comic book series. The comic books and games are completely separate from the tv show. (word of god) So it wouldn't make sense for it to have the same music as the tv show.

  • I may disagree. I love the "opening" of TWD S1. The sound of buzzing flies is strangely chilling, and the music opening up to season two sounds almost nostalgic in a way. Then again, I haven't played game of thrones or seen it's theme, so my opinion might be different had I.

  • You mean like "The Walking Dead - AMC" and "The Wolf Among Us" or just a soundtrack

    S1 has buzzing flies theme

S2 has...well 5 different themes (one for each episode)

I personally prefer the simple title card splash that they do. I feel the lack of flashiness actually works in the game's favor. Take for example, the opening of All That Remains. Just having the "THE WALKING DEAD" flash up on the screen after the death of Omid feels a lot more fitting and impactful than having a title sequence show up. At least in my opinion.

Or those slow-burn openings that Telltale loves to do, where they open up with something happening in the background, building up to a final stinger as the logo comes up, like in Amid The Ruins with Sarita screaming her head off as the logo shows up, No Going Back with a distorted hail of gunfire and breathing, or In Harm's Way with them closing the door to the truck as Kenny's yelling at them.
