Best of Telltale

edited September 2015 in The Walking Dead

TWD is undoubtedly the best of telltale games. The story is emotionally rivetting and I am far more attached tk the characters of TWD than any other telltale game. So what gives? This is the game that put telltale on the map- they should be making it priority to finish it up. The day this game came out on the app store I happened across it by accident and it was life chaging. This is where more telltale fans started. I think they owe it to us to finish this before starting new projects and delaying any further.

  • Finish this? Last time I checked all seasons are completed.

  • Personally I think Tales from the Borderlands is their best project. Just because TWD is the series that put them on the map to a lot of people doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to start other series, especially when those other series are really good (and sometimes even better). They don't have to make it their priority especially since the series isn't currently going.

Who says they "owe" people? Personally, I think that Telltale broadening their palette is a good thing. If they always listened to their current fan base and had been complacent instead of being bold and trying new things, we'd never have gotten games like Walking Dead in the first place. Besides, it's not exactly as if Walking Dead is being neglected by Telltale in any way. Ever since 2012, they've given Walking Dead fans content every year so far, and will very likely do so in the foreseeable future until at least 2016 or 2017. It's not a "delay" if they make the conscious choice to work on other things before working on Walking Dead again.

    • 2012 - Walking Dead: Season 1
    • 2013 - Walking Dead: 400 Days and Premiere of Season 2
    • 2014 - Episodes 2-5 of Season 2
    • 2015 - Premiere of Michonne Mini Series (premieres "late fall" - aka November or December)
    • 2016 - Continuation of Michonne Mini Series, (Likely) Premiere of Season 3
    • 2017 - (Possibly continuation of Season 3 depending on when it starts in 2016)

This is the game that put telltale on the map

I'd disagree with you on that. It wasn't much of the game that put them on the map, rather, it was more the formula they happened to test out on this game that put them on the map. I'm sure you could take TWD out of the equation and Telltale would be just as afloat as ever, as shown right now, since TWD isn't on their list of games ongoing at the moment, yet TFTBL and GoT have found huge success.

There also came TWAU,Borderlands, and GoT fans.

  • I came from The Wolf Among Us and believe it is slightly better than The Walking Dead, although they are both amazing. But what is this post about exactly? Finish what?

  • Sadly Money Talks. Can't fault growing the company, GOT and TFB have both been great. To others on the forum I'll try to clarify this posts question. The multiple endings in season 2 TWD. They are all cliff hangers. Yes I know all media has done this. (How many Unforgivens do we need) I'm looking at you Metallica! But questions will linger about Clems fate until TT graces us with the answer. I think this is whats not complete.

  • He means that he wants all the walking dead seasons before any other game to come out.

The Walking Dead was the pinnacle of their game roster I would have to say. In spite of possibly making the greatest profit off of the first walking dead game it probably is wiser for them to expand into other universes to seize a broader market audience for profit motivation. They no doubt feel why just have Walking Dead money come in when they can have included Game Of Thrones, Borderlands, Wolf Among Us, and soon Mine-Craft profits coming in.

Their other games are at times o.k. at best but the majority seem to pale in comparison to the TTG walking dead series and I've attempted to play the other two (borderlands and thrones) and I'm not all that impressed. Wolf was sort of decent yet highly weird at times too. But I'm only interested in their dead series and the ultimate fate of Clementine since we had closure with Lee. Accepting that she is just forever with either Jane, Kenny, Wellington or alone with a baby is just unsatisfactory and would feel too open ended as their is still plenty room for further tales to be told from who else other than Telltale. But if they decided to not make anymore Borderlands, Wolf Among us or Game Of Thrones then I'd be just copasetically fine with that. Since the TV series is leagues beyond Telltale's version anyhow and I never felt much into borderlands sometimes the usual in game comedy is just lame or corny to me but possibly right up Telltales alley. And Wolf Among Us was cool sometime but kind of like borderlands, I just didn't care much for it.

But to be fair to each audience and for the sake of profit again. They will always need to make these other titles. So be it if lame/boring or not.

  • Ahh ok. Thanks.
