Ever go back and replay an entire scene because of one dialogue choice?
And usually, a dialogue choice that you know doesn't even matter at all. For example, maybe you had Bigby say something that came out wrong and Snow didn't have a good reaction, even though it wasn't a "Snow will remember that" event.
I was tempted last night to replay a scene toward the end of "A Crooked Mile" just because I accidentally clicked a dialogue option that made Bigby sound like a bad detective. I probably would have done it had I not been so close to the climax.

I just stick with my choices, like a pimp!
Story of my life i always make the wrong choises
Too frequently...example: i had to do the whole Georgie club scene in ep.2 from the beginning because i felt bad for shouting at Nerissa about everyone always saying to me 'these lips are sealed'. and such. Well more playtime for me i guess ;P
I usually just stick with them if I make a choice I end up regretting. I view TWAU and TWD in the sense of "situation simulator" basically putting you in positions, and asking what you would do if you were actually there. And if I was actually there and I messed up I wouldn't be able to go back and fix it. So if I f#@& up, I view it as my own fault and try to "live" with it you could say.
Well, kinda. In this episode, when the little girl was like "can I see your scar??" I figured sure, whatever, weird kid and clicked the "okay" option. Then Bigby went on this super creepy spiel about demonstrating the story of the big bad wolf to her and implying he'd freaking eating her or something. It was a pretty lolwhut moment, and when Snow gave me that look I was like "dude I don't know what he's doing either!"
I almost replayed episode 2 because I thought I didn't promise Holly the body...Thank god Snow interupted 5 seconds later and said I didn't throw Lilly's body down the Witching well.
Only if the tone is completely different than I intended, whether it be the emotion or the words themselves. Not based on a characters reaction though, I like facing the consequences of my genuine choices.
I've done that several times
That's what I was getting at: it's usually because the way I imagined something being said based off of the response selector just wasn't what actually came out of the character's mouth. Maybe because I misinterpreted what that conversation stub was actually trying to condense.
If my character is just being dickish for whatever reason, because I feel my character should be dickish in that moment, I'll live with it.
I haven't. I prefer to just play through my choices, good or bad. It's more fun that way, to me at least.
I prefer not to. It feels more natural to stick with the dialogue that I chose in the spur of the moment, as it is with real life. However, sometimes I got so distracted by the timer, or I would not have enough time to read up on all the dialogue choices (I can be quite the slow reader), and I would end up making choices that I so wouldn't have chosen if I had more time to choose. That's when I would return and make the proper choice.
I did it once in the first episode (the infamous "glass him") and once in this third episode.
Both times I didn't understand the dialogue option or it was misleading (at least to me, non-native speaker).
If the other character's reactions are not what I hoped for, that's a different matter, I stick with my choice. I live with the consequences of my choices but they have to be my choices, not a misinterpretation.
I haven't done yet, I don't recall ever misinterpreting what they meant so far.
I always have one cold playthrough where I play spoiler free and my choices are my choices, for better or worse. I save the going back for my second and third playthroughs.
Lots of times
Yeah exactly. I actually replayed Crane's apartment just because when I tried to put my ear to the bedroom door, Bigby rammed his gunshot wounded shoulder into it instead. It was too stupid for me to deal with, but that was more my fault for playing the episode on a smaller TV and assuming it was an ear icon.
I like to have three different playthroughs: 1.) What I would do if I were in the given situation 2.) Nice Bigby, and 3.) Dickby, or "The Douche Among Us" as others call it. Only the last two I replay if I make a mistake that didn't live up to the niceness/doucheyness that particular Bigby adheres to.
I do that all the time in the game. I have one saved file where I make my initial choice, one save file where I make all the violent choices, and two extras for a large array of choices.
The only time I go back is when I miss something that I had intentions of doing. Like when you select something and it automatically triggers the next scene so I have no way of looking at the other things in the area.
Yah because of the trophies. My main playthrough on latest episode I never went up to Crain's office. Interesting how that worked out. lol
I am very picky with my choices.
There's always one or two things but I try to stick to what I decided to do in the moment.
Right now I'm deciding whether or not to go back to the part where you burn that tree...
Generally, I only do it if I misinterpret what my choice is or if Bigby gives the answer in a different way than I intended. For example, [Glass Him]. It's not like, in a real scenario, I'm going to accidentally smash someone in the face with a glass when I want to pour him a drink or whatever. I feel justified in doing that over.
I will admit, however, that I redid the final scene in Episode 3 because I immediately regretted killing Dum. I don't feel too terrible about going back. There's also probably some minor choices I re-do for the sake of dialogue.
I d. Like with the arm ripping scene. I felt so bad about it even though he (guy at bar) tried to kill Bigby. So I redid part of the fight to cancel that choice. Felt excessive.
on my first play through i'll stick to my original choices unless it was a big deal (like if the scene played out completely different than how i thought it would or i mis-clicked or waited too long), and then i'll replay scenes and probably the whole episode (right now i've got a save for my original choices and a save file for a violent, badass, murderous bigby >:D)
This is exactly what I do with most of these games, and the Mass Effect games too. My first playthrough is always just making my own choices regardless of moral alignment, and seeing where it takes me.
Then I do a "Bigby is a Jerk" playthrough where I'm always violent if possible, or failing that really horrible, or failing that just keeping silent.
Then I do a "Bigby is a nicey nice guy" playthrough where I summon up vast stores of willpower to not punch Georgie Porgie around and try to be calm and polite with everybody.
Oh, yeah--that bugs the heck out of me. That happened to me in the last episode. There were a few other items with which I could interact, but I didn't get to, because I picked up the trigger item. Always feel like I'm trying to game the exploration parts of TWAU (and TWD) to try to figure out what the developers want me to pick up, so that I can save that one for last.
Well I have done so in the Walking Dead. Not in The Wolf Among Us, so far. As Walter said " Listen dialogue choices are like any machine. You don't go and change them for a new one. You get your hand dirty and grease the wheels." Walter exact words.
I did it once or twice.
lol u make it sound like ur an unlucky person. nah im messing with ya I sometimes make bad choices too. when time runs out I pick something really bad and mess things up and need to start that scene over again.
I don't go about changing options when I get a negative reaction, I do do it however, when Bigby says something I didn't intend to say- the headings on dialogue choices are sometimes misleading and Bigby ends up being too soft/mean/whatever than I feel he should be in that particular instance, then I have to go back and replay it because it doesn't sit well with my roleplay. Also, there's the infamous "glass him" from the first episode. Had to go back and change that one too.
Nope, never. My first choice is the canon choice and I never changed it.
Not on my original playthrough. My original playthrough is the first and best one, and i always stick with my choices. But, on alternate playthroughs, yeah, i change things a bit. I try every option. But my original playthrough remains the same and unaltered.
Whenever i didn't hit Jack in EP3. I think i might've a few other times.
