No Clementine in S3 Would be an Absolute Disaster

Actually think about this.
How would you actually feel if Clem died after all of this character development, the past 9 episodes of teaching her survival skills, and having the main character die yet again. Despite all the character development, Clem still has so much potential. That's the beauty of having a child protagonist, it can last almost forever. I want you to actually think about this, what would TT do, who would it be and what are they like? This is literally perfect to be completely honest. And this might just make you hate me to all the pretentious jack asses who think they can't be a little girl, but you need to stop fucking relishing your ego and let go. I guarantee the reason you don't like having to be a little girl is because of it.

Clem dying in 205 would mean Lee's death meant absolutely nothing. Pretending TT does kill her, S1 and S2 would have no replayability after you realize that, and by extension becoming attached to any of these characters also means it would be damn near impossible. This series has seriously done the best job out of any I have ever played of making you become attached to the characters.

Seriously, if they drop Clem in S3 I guarantee TWD loses almost their entire fucking fanbase. Just food for thought.

  • as long as they add an interesting character that is fleshed out I'm all in. But that would suck if Clem was not in it.

  • I want to play as teenaged Clementine.

No. Sadly, as in life, her childhood cannot last forever. I think what is (was?) crucial is to take advantage of what a coming of age story in her context means. I saw her slowly but surely grow up in a satisfactory manner all throughout S1, and have experienced glimpses of more gradual growth in the... chaos (in many senses of the word) of S2.

I guarantee the reason you don't like having to be a little girl is because of it.

Eh... it's not who I am playing as but how well that role is executed. S2 leaves lots of room for improvement on that, and I foolishly hope that instead of throwing away the whole thing, like they seem to have done to plenty of elements of what this game was, they do not throw her away. She deserves more, in my opinion. The argument that I actually agree with, is that if the story demands the departure of Clementine - in any way, even dying - then so be it. However, if No Going Back is her definitive endgame, it is my humble opinion that the setup and journey behind that conclusion have not been enough to warrant such a definitive ending to our girl and her story. The episode is not here yet, however, and so I still can't judge the big picture completely, but I provide as always my opinion based on what we currently have and express my skepticism to the possibility of the finale radically altering my overall view on thaangs.

If TTG doesn't want to make her protagonist again I understand, though I hope she is protagonist for Season 3. But put her in it no matter what, (Also making her 13 or 14 would be amazing)

If they went to some new character no one even cares about what would all we went through in season one and two mean?

"This is just sad. Just like nobody would buy season 2 if Lee died? I'm sure everyone will do the same if Clem dies. -rolls eyes- I'm almost getting to the point that I hope she does die and I hate to say that it's people like this pushing me in that direction. I know Telltale can tell a good story with a new cast, new protagonist and all of that. Go ahead and crucify me but I'm completely fine with whatever they do to this lady."

He perfectly summed up how I'm starting to feel. Now let me make myself clear. I don't hate Clem but people saying noclemnobuy and if Clem dies we riot are really making me dislike her.

  • If Telltale will kill her in season finale I'll be very sad and... it'll bring so much tears. :C But I guess I'll still play season 3. Although I'd love to see Clementine alive and as protagonist but I could still play this game without her. It just wouldn't be the same in my opinion.

  • Nah im just telling you to get some fresh air, Just some friendly advice :) And BTW whoever posted that comment was an idiot. The whole point of season one was to protect Clementine and keep her safe as Lee. And now in season 2 we are playing as Clementine trying to make the best decisions for her. Whether you know it or not The Walking Dead game has ALWAYS been centered around Clementine..So killing her off is foolish.

    No need to be childish

Dude, if it is about the quote, quotes are great. :D I will proceed to quote a kid on quoting.

  • jesus christ it's not that hard. Basically he's saying that Clem's death or closure this season would be stupid because she hasn't gone through some major character defining epic journey to save the world or whatever.

    See it like this

Season 1 = "oh yeah we got Lee through some epic journey of redemption trying to save Clementine and blah blah blah"

Season 2 = "oh yeah the little girl we worked our asses off protecting just got killed as she gets to Wellington after hanging out for a week with a bunch of idiotic and useless Cabin dwellers " <---- Not the treatment Clementine deserves as a main character.

So your allowed to have your opinion of telling us that we are childish for expressing our views and wanting Clem in season 3.. But we aren't allowed our opinion of wanting Clem in season 3 and get called childish for it.

How does this have anything to do with ego and jokes?

  • AND MIKE. I LOVE THAT HILARIOUS BASTARD.

    WE #WANT #BONNIE #IN #SEASON3

  • We are going to be Clem next season. It wouldn't make sense to be anyone else. We have the story. Why change it? Bringing in a new group of characters and completely getting rid of the previous ones is going to be pointless. What will that achieve? Nothing.

We have Clem, it makes sense to be Clem, it doesn't make sense to get rid of Clem. Lee taught her how to survive and what to do in season 1 and now in season 2 we are her, don't forget that Jane taught Clem a few tricks, why do that in episode 4, if they are not going to continue longer with it? Especially when she planted the idea of being a lone wolf in her head. Feels like the Lee thing again. Teaching her skills towards the end of the season. That usually means she'll put it into practice more or think about it.

We have all this information and character development and a huge space to go even further with it. Change the characters send its like starting from scratch again and it just wouldn't fit in. The point of the story is to be able to play it in season order. Do a drastic change like what people are suggesting and it wont feel like part of the series.

  • That's the beauty of having a child protagonist, it can last almost forever.

That's the beauty in milking a franchise, it'll be deader than the zombies it carries in its title by the end of it, because stagnation never improved ANYTHING. Spider-Man is about Spider-Man, Thor is about Thor, The Walking Dead isn't about Clementine and Crossed isn't about Shakey.

Seriously, if they drop Clem in S3 I guarantee TWD loses almost their entire fucking fanbase.

No it doesn't. There's losers who masturbate over Rick's every spoken word, and they make up more than 50% of the fanbase.
