No Clementine in S3 Would be an Absolute Disaster

  • I've never seen True Detective, but heard it was good.

And I hope TellTale does what's right and treats the narrative with the up most respect. Whether that means she's in another game or whether that means her story ends (which would probably be for the best at this point in her narrative).

I'm just a bit concerned that TellTale will compromise Clementine's story with this ridiculous "epic trilogy" bullshit everybody without any creativity wants.

Exactly. Look at true detective for example. An amazing show as most people would agree, but also a show that has a new story with different

  • That does sound interesting, but it's still a switch in protagonists which I'm advocating. Whilst my main gripe is people thinking that TWD is Clementine and that she should be the protagonist in Season 3. Although I'm still of the firm belief that if we had random protagonists each season that it would still work. Vince, Wyatt, Russel, Bonnie, Shell worked. Technically they were connected by the thinnest strings of a narrative and a location, but I still count it.

    Forget this comment ;_;

  • It's time to get rid of Clem. The fanbase has become tainted and shameful in their need for fanservice.

  • Time for a reboot. This year just has not done it for me.

  • I would say if Clem dies I won't buy Season 3, but knowing myself I'd be lying.

  • Fair enough, I can see you clearly have a strong attachment to Clementine.

Although we have to remember that Telltale created these characters in the first place, who's to say they won't create an extremely interesting protagonist in Season 3. Remember I am not saying Clem's story arc should finish come Season 2, I am saying leave her story ambiguously and begin a new story in Season 3 with someone else.

It'd create huge buzz about speculation over what has happened to Clementine for future episodes or Seasons whilst at the same time gives the writers a chance to create a new great protagonist.

I WOULD 100% agree with you, if it were not The Walking Dead we are talking about. The thing with this game is that it gets you engaged.

  • No. Lee is the face of TWD game.

Clem is basically "the face" of Telltale´s TWD video game series. Just like Rick for the TWD TV show. They would be stupid to kill their trademark characters off. Make Clem a 17 year old teen in S3 or something like that.

  • The comics are about as canon as you can get

Thirteen IS actually teenager: thirTEEN. But aren't the comics non-canon?

  • TellTale has stated that the game takes place in the comics canon. They treat the show as non-canon.

  • nah i doubt that'll happen, it would be too much of a risk.... i mean come on... killing off clementine??? if they REALLY want to kill protagonist off they should wait at least till season 4/5

  • The reason I'm against Clementine dying is (not just because I'm a Clementine fan) but MAINLY because I can't play another game all the way thru and regardless of what I did, my guy dies. Since video games were invented the point was NOT to lose lives. You don't want your guy to die. Lee died. It was emotional and awesome. But...seriously, I love the story and all that, but ultimately it is a video game...and it's hard to feel like you've won if you died.

I think they should follow Clem for at least another season as an older teenager just to give her some closure OR have it end so that we're uncertain about her well being and she cameo's in the next season doing just fine. I wouldn't mind playing as someone else...EVENTUALLY...but the whole point of season one was to ensure Clementine's safety. If she dies in this season it makes it all pointless. We need to see Clem to safety before we can move on from her story.

Also, I can't shake the image Jane gave of a future Clem in her bad@ss leather jacket.

I won't say NoClemNoBuy...but I will say Clem better NOT die. Doesn't anyone else play games for a sense of winning? It's a beautiful story but....who doesn't want to win??

  • but its not exactly the same..

No it wouldn't be. It'd be it's own story. That's like saying Reservior Dogs was pointless cause the main cast were killed by the end of the film. Stories, believe it or not, can be unique self contained plots.

  • this comments are exactly why theres need to be downvotes. and the one below

  • Also,
I've really enjoyed all of season two. I'm surprised to read a lot of people say they haven't.
There's a lot more action game play than season one. I've hated less people in this season. Season one I hated DUCK and I hated BEN. I also kinda hated Christa and Omid and only liked them in Season two because they took care of Clem. But, yeah, most of the people in this season were ok. My only criticisms I guess, would be the death of Sara and the death of Rebecca. I didn't like Sara...pretty much the whole time. I dealt with her but she annoyed me. I just think regardless of how I felt the death should have affected Clementine more. There was little to NO response or reaction. No one talked about it with her after? Nothing. Also....what? Rebecca? Why? Needless death. She dies whether you take the medicine or not. Dumb. Other than that, I've enjoyed the game play of season two better than the first.

I think as Clementine morphs from innocent child to tough Lara Croft type, people might not be so eager for a different perspective.
