It could be a new beginning for humanity if it was to overcome the outbreak. To start fresh and establish true socities. But as you've already mentioned, It'd be a difficult life to live.

I used to want it to happen, but only for one reason - I thought in apocalypse time 'everything is easier'. It's easier to understand who's your friend and who's not, in critical situation people tend to show their true intentions. Without everyday routine human's soul is like.. more clear? I'm much of a spectator, so it's interesting to me. I mean, people and their motives and actions.

But, mostly playing TWDG, I realised that sometimes things get even more complicated than in real life. And I'm also not sure that I would like what I would've become in apocalypse world.

  • 100% Agreed

  • No, I need the internet

  • I honestly don't want it to happen. I mean who would want to willingly trade everything they have today for nothing? As much as I tell myself it would be cool, it would be literal Hell-on-earth. And also I have Crohn's disease so I wouldn't make it very long without medicine. I'll just leave the apocalypse to the video games and movies.

  • Lord of the flies man. A lot more evil kids then good kids, same with adults more sociopaths then good people. "No laws, no rules, ain't nothing that make us men."-Nate-400 days. For every Walt there is a Carver. For every Matthew there is a stranger. For every camp of good people there is a farm of cannibals. I just don't trust society that much.

  • I dont know if it would be a fresh start. Society is what it is. It would all just start again only on a smaller scale.

    No!
Having to see all your friends die.
    Living in constant danger.
    Why would anyone want that?

For some, if the answer is yes, and the reason for them is cause they don't have an exciting life, I've got some advice for them.
"Turn off the computer/ game console. Get out of the chair. Get out of the house. And have an adventure in the real-world."
Like going to a rock concert, going hiking, off-roading, bowling, or perhaps taking a road trip,( if you can afford it).
And mind you, doing these thing with others regularly, for in that way, you not only cultivate and strengthen your social skills, you also build friendships.

And also, improving on one's knowledge, not just social knowledge, but also on one's academic knowledge.
Reading, even though you may not like it at first, is such a rewarding endeavor.
Not only does it make you smarter, but can also enliven your conversation.
Provided what your reading is actually educational, and not comic books.

    Videogames can be fun.
However, if you are spending so much time on them, that they are keeping you from developing social skills, relationships with others, and enjoying other fun activities, then they are no good.
And if you allow videogames to continue to take control of your life, instead of you taking control in your life, they will eventually ruin your life.

It's so vitally important to go out, have fun, make friendships with others, gain experience, and make memories.
Cause at the end of the day, memories are all a person has left.
And having memories of nothing but playing videogames, would be nothing a person could look back on in their old age, and smile about.
Life is to short, and to precious, for anyone to allow that to happen to them.

So don't let it happen to you.
Get out, improve in your knowledge, and social life, and good things will happen.
Don't let fear hold you back!
There is a bigger, much more rewarding world to experience, than one that exists in a videogame.

  • Never.

Virtual Reality Zombie Apocalypse without real-life death though? Count me in.

  • Amen brother. Lol

Here's a quote from brilliant Shantaram.

The tendency towards complexity has carried the universe from almost perfect simplicity to the kind of complexity that we see around us, everywhere we look. The universe is always doing this. It is always moving from the simple to the complex.

In five billion, in ten billion - it is always getting more complex. It is moving toward ... something. It is moving toward some kind of ultimate complexity. We might not get there. An atom of hydrogen might not get there, or a leaf, or a man, or a planet might not get there, to that ultimate complexity. But we are all moving towards it- everything in the universe is moving towards it. And that final complexity, that thing we are all moving to, is what I choose to call God. If you don't like that word, God, call it the Ultimate Complexity. Whatever you call it, the whole universe is moving toward it.

Anything that enhances, promotes, or accelerates this movement toward the Ultimate Complexity is good.

Anything that inhibits, impedes, or prevents this movement toward the Ultimate Complexity is evil. The wonderful thing about this definition of good and evil is that it is both objective and universally acceptable.

From this point of view, apocalypse wouldn't make anything better.

Agreed. That line was brilliant, Society is now very corrupt and filled with sterotypes, The ZA would be a fresh start, An eye-opener to humanity as a whole.

  • Well, i have another point of view that I've never really discussed with anyone, It'd cause unnecessary arguments. But I agree with him about the concept of the "Ultimate Complexity".

  • So True......

Not at all. The world is already f8cked up as it is.

  • Of course there would have to be new ways to deal with this new situation but human behavior dictates that the same ills we have today would continue. Id like to think that people can change for the better but Im far too cynical.

Creative Chaos creates new socities. The ZA is the chaos that dissolves old rules in order to leave it open for new creativity.

  • To each his own. There probably are better examples, this is a book that high school kids read, so it can't be that complicated.

  • My idea is different, Society's restrictions limit creativity, Removing the shackles would result into too much creativity, Neutrality wouldn't result into a bi-polar society all over again. You'd have the good, The bad, And the neutral. Basically, because of limited prescriptive of the good or the bad, The Neutral would rise over both of them.

I dunno, I think my mom's zombie impression was enough for me. And after all the nightmares I've had of zombies trying to break in or running from the things, I think the real deal would scare me to death. Seriously who wants to keep killing smelly rotten corpses that want to eat you alive by tearing you to pieces? Not to mention a lot of people would be assholes in that world too.

In a video game I'll take them anyday but not real life, no thanks.

  • Nothing gets people hot and bothered like flesh-eating monstrosities, brutally traumatic losses, and the downfall of human society :P

Sure, The best place to date is the ZA.

  • I consider the neutral being Nate, he doesn't try to hurt you when you first meet him and he says he would kill you only if you wrong him. He only killed that one guy in the gas station because he wronged Nate. He is okay with you as long as you haven't done anything deserve anything worse. If society was filled with people like him, that would be great. The reason I find The Lord of the Flies a good example is because of the beast in it, that would be equal to the walkers in The Walking Dead. Those "Bad kids" probably aren't bad, they're just afraid of the beast and follow a leader that they believe is best for their safety, example Carver. Basically like Crawford doing bad things, but it's for their safety. In a world without walkers would be true Anarchy, I would like to see how that would pan out, since that would rely on people actually being good to another to work out. Society has always been run on some sort of government, example Religion and Government. To see society take a drastic change would be interesting, hopefully it would end up being Neutral.
