  • You know, not every human on earth who isn't a badass but a whiny kiddo is automatically disabled. Get your facts straight.

I totally agree with you... People just hate handicaps, in real life they may not show it, but its in games that people show their true feel

  • Thank you so much for this comment

I come here to avoid stupid shit like this. Tumblr is cancer to the internet, I can't believe it made it here too.

  • Where is it said that Sarah is disabled? because as far as I'm concerned that's just an assumption a lot of people on these forums jumped to because she was different/odd or 'not normal'. In case you didn't notice during your play throughs, Sarah is a teenager (I'm assuming she's 13 or there abouts, I can't remember off the top of my head) who has lost her mother (presumably during the ZA, again I don't remember it being talk about in the game so I'm not 100% sure on that), been sheltered from how bad the world is by her father for god knows how long and suffers panic attacks when under stress. That doesn't make her disabled. I suffer from panic attacks myself and if I'd been through all that at such a young age I wouldn't normal and I'm fairly certain most of you wouldn't be either.

As for episode 4, she just watched her father get shot and then brutally torn apart by zombies right in front of her. That'd fuck anyone up, it's no surprise she 'ceased to function' as Carlos would put it.

In regards to her death, I was disappointed, I loved the character of Sarah, she felt real. In a way it was like looking back at what Clem was like when we first meet her in S1E1 and I thought that maybe at some point in the season we might actually get to teach her how to take care of herself like we did with Clem when playing as Lee, especially after I got her to snap out of it and come back to the ruins. Unfortunately that is not going to happen and as disappointed as I was that none of that can happen now, I am still satisfied with how it ended. Almost the entire episode we have Jane teaching us how she survived and that sometimes you're not always going to be able to save someone. So to me, as much as I didn't want it to happen, Sarah's death made sense, it was emotional (or at least it was for some, myself included) and fit with the story.

Just a side note to close off the comment. Out of everyone causing a fuss because it's a female character and complaining about sexism, misogyny etc etc, I guarantee if Sarah had been a male character instead, 90% of you wouldn't give two shits about it if people were still complaining about the character for the same stupid reasons.

  • edited August 2014

she was 15, and yeah i agree with you, the tumblr crowd is hyper defencive about female characters and doesn't give a sh*t about cis white males, in fact being a cis white male is usually grounds for hating a character (unless they ship them with a male character)

What else did you expect from greg miller? He's a prick. And pricks say prickish things, I'm glad he's being held accountable by this. He's not saying sorry because he offended people, he's saying sorry to save face.

Fuck wall street, err, Greg Miller

  • Not gonna lie, I'm a little bummed we can't dislike comments now. Especially if they deserve it.

  • Just noticed it a little while ago but I thought it might have been a formatting issue. If its not then I think its a good idea to take it away there was too many people troll-disliking others for no particular reason.

I get that, but it wasn't too difficult to distinguish the troll dislikes from the actual dislikes. For the most part, trolls are ignored here and aren't that big of a problem.

  • I find it funny that you think the oppression of marginalized people are "deluded" and will "never make it into the real world" as if only hurt feelings is what they experience. It's not the fact that they are easily offended, its the ignorance belonging to the privileged and how defensive and offended the privileged get when they get called out for being just that: Ignorant and privileged.

  • You say that now, but what if you were in a Zombie Apocalypse? People's opinions and feelings towards things such as this change and sadly, there are many out there who dislike the disabled and mock them for being so.

Excuse me? People don't hate the disabled. I'm sorry you feel so jaded as to suggest that, using a videogame as proof, but you're wrong. Why are so many people here so ridiculous and extreme in their views? It's incredibly sad.

  • Search the words "Aaron Hill Autism" in google.

  • The thing is though, the fact he's Autistic is completely irrelevant to the story. What article are you more likely to read? "Man brutally beats minor" or "Man brutally beats Autistic Minor"? He's a fully functioning human being, it just sells for a better story with the word "Autism" in it because it's a scary word with sometimes, not often, people on the lower end of the spectrum e.g. Down syndrome, people who can't eat, shit, dress and clean themselves on their own. For some reason people associate Autism mostly with the lower end rather than the high end, like Asperger's or High Functioning Autism (HFA)

  • I saw some bits, a lot of drink at a party, taken out into the garden and told to fight and when he said no some other arsehole attacked him. I also saw another version about a girl tempting him out with promise of a date or something, and he got jumped by 7-8 people... I don't really know what's reliable.

There are specific things the girl said (probably after the fight but its the girl lured him) that is around the net some where. Unfortunately I would prefer not to post them here partly because I'm afraid of others cyber bullying her ect. since its not censored ect. Its unfortunately easy to find her on the internet also others have already threatened her sooo yeah I kinda of just don't want to encourage anything here.

  • I'd hardly say that saying the word "right" means the telltale employees are agreeing with him.

  • I totally agree with you. I was able to relate to Sarah, with her being a younger character and all, and I'd probably react the same way she did to everything going on. She's the first character that I'm genuinly mad at TellTale for killing her off.

  • If she lured him to get his shit kicked in, she deserves every bit of it.

  • Unpopular opinion: Fuck Sarah, I'm glad she died. She was season two's version of Ben. Watching her get eaten alive by the walkers was a real good shocking/satisfying moment for me. The op has the smell of typical rad feminist bollocks.

  • I believe the point is that since it is only his opinion, of course it will be biased. So will my opinion, your opinion and all other players' opinions be. As far as I can tell Greg Miller has never claimed to be unbiased, and I fail to see why his opinion should matter so much. There are plenty of people who disagree with him, after all.

  • Hmmm I love how "This is such a tumblr post" is tacked on to a statement as if it's an insult. Because godforbid wanting some decent exposure and treatment to those who don't is considered so awful and that stating that on their personal blogs is considered "immature".

I wonder what the people of Ferguson who are fighting for their rights for protest in a non violent way. They're vocalizing for equality and are treated in turn by violence from authorities. You can state how immature Tumblr is because of a few uneducated eggs here and there, but I don't see what's wrong with calling out people for being what they are: Ableist. And people have a right to be offended when they're tossed to the dogs with the characters they identify with especially when they are seen so few and far between .

Because the collective mentality there is that of angry first world babies who cry ableist/racist/sexist at everyone or thing that doesn't go their way. People over there parade around with all their self diagnosed "disabilities", and "illnesses" like they're shiny "look at how different I am, acknowledge it or else!" stickers, it's them who are desensitizing people to the reality of these illnesses/disabilities, because they treat it as though it's a fad, but get "triggered" when you call them out on it. I sincerely doubt that even half of Tumblr actually has these any of these illnesses/disabilities. Call me ableist if you want, that word no longer has impact either because of how carelessly it's thrown around. Try being "offended" in a third world country, and see how that bodes with the people there, and then tell me how "oppressed" you are in this "terrible" country.

  • Technically Duck was just as much 'disabled' and 'a liability' as Sarah was. He was a white male and everyone hated him as much as they hated Sarah. Kind of annoying really, how in zombie games someone can't be a normal kid not toughened so hard it's unrealistic, without the entire fanbase hating the character.
