If Nick Survived Episode 4

  • Finally Nick's tallness is put to use : ]

    Nick will be missed...

I wonder if we can get a picture of his facial expression when the "I'd eat the shit out of that raccoon." is?

  • I like the fact that you pushed him into the last episode, with a hope he may survive.

But trust me, no determinant character survives 3 episodes.

  • Well in The Wolf Among Us, Prince Lawrence survived the entire series, and he became determinant in episode one.

  • Never played the TWAU, so I can only judge on The Walking Dead, and well, Season 1 had only Clem, Omid and Christa survive, and Kenny, if you want to count him, and they weren't determinant.

This Prince Lawrence, deserves an award for surviving 5 episodes as determinant.

Yeah, a lot of people thought Prince Lawrence would bite it because he was determinant, but he lived. In fact, three determinant characters survived the season, with Lawrence only being one (though each had a smaller role, incredibly small, once they became determinant, though that's no different from Nick and Chet).

  • I'm hoping that if there's a Kenny/Luke or Mike/Bonnie choice then whichever you save can follow in the footsteps of Prince Lawrence. So if I saved Kenny, he would carry on into Season 3, much as Luke would if someone saved him.

It wouldn't be hard to do, if TT put their mind, effort and time to it.

Oh and congratulations for remembering Chet, only the die hard fans do.

Personally, I'd take Nick over anyone in the group any day.

Chet Is Love, Chet Is Life. Nick Is Love, Nick Is Life.

  • Choosing between two different characters wouldn't be as hard to do because they could just replace their respective roles (like Carley and Doug) but they'd bring a different dynamic, like Carley with her pro aim and seriousness, and Doug with his mechanical know how and sense of humor.

  • Spectacular work.

  • The only problem with the Carley/Doug determinant choice wasn't that they died, it was that they died at the exact same point. It makes it seem unrealistic and very linear. It would have been better if Carley had the same death but then Doug's was changed, like he fell off the train or something.

  • I love Mike, too, but I have to agree with everyone else. Nick fit his role very well and it almost feels like Mike was created and put into the game simply because Nick was determinant and would die off soon. And now Mike is probably going to die off soon with no development as well.

Telltale needs to get out of this lazy habit of cycling characters without finishing their arcs. It's ridiculous.

  • Someone made a great fanfic about what if he did live, I am pretty sure its by TinyCarlos.

  • If Nick had to absolutely die, I wish Telltale could have at least made him die at the shootout in EP5 instead of doing it offscreen.

That way he could have said goodbye to Luke. I doubt Luke would be able to brush it off , then.

  • Does anyone else think that Nick was originally going to be a double determinant? I kind of felt like it would've been a Nick VS Sarah decision originally.

  • Fuck Nick. Besides Alvin, Carlos, and Sarah, I prefer anyone else

    Yeah!

Its like, save nick or mike.

  • Yeah, but if he'd been double determinant he probably would've done even less XD

  • They need to lay off making characters determinant just so it seems like there's more choice impact. I think that's what happened with Nick and Sarah, maybe even Sarita and Alvin too.

I thought it was kinda well done... I liked that they died because of different reasons but still in the same way, but that's just my opinion.

  • They weren't vastly different, but I see what you mean. I still think they should have been different, maybe even in different episodes, just to keep that unlimited, your choice, feeling and not that TT is controlling your game feeling. It was well done, but it could have been better.
