Unpopular opinion: Fuck Sarah, I'm glad she died. She was season two's version of Ben. Watching her get eaten alive by the walkers was a real good shocking/satisfying moment for me. The op has the smell of typical rad feminist bollocks.

  • Not gonna lie, I'm a little bummed we can't dislike comments now. Especially if they deserve it.

Problem is, everyone has their own idea of who "deserves it". The dislike function was also too much of a perfect tool for trolls.

  • Sarah was never meant to be anything more than what was presented. The value assessed to her by some is clearly outside of the developers' intentions. She never said/did anything to warrant the praise she is given. I could see an argument of her treatment based on her disability because it's the excuse for her being fodder but not the WoC angle. She just happens to be Carlos' daughter and was meant to be useless in general, not because of her sex or race.

People use that quote as a reference because Sarah was treated as a child, and not as just another person trying to stay alive. Chuck doesn't say to leave a child to die, but that the child will die inevitably if not properly prepared, no matter how much they're protected and sheltered. Lee realized the truth in Chuck's words, hence why he began to train Clem and let her make more adult decisions. If not for Chuck's speech, Clem would've ended up like Sarah. And what Chuck warned Lee about is just what happened to Sarah, she died because she didn't know how to fend for herself, and because all the adults continued to treat her like a child.

Fuck Sarah. Seriously. I'm not an ableist by any means but the fact that she never put any effort into toughening up or improving, was boring as hell, and a one-dimensional character gave me no emotional investment in her. All of you are blowing this way out of proportion. Telltale killed her twice in the same episode not because they hated her, but because they were lazy and didn't want to split the plot

    She was annoying as hell

  • I'm proud to say that I was a dick to Sarah the entire season and left her at the cabin to get eaten by walkers.

  • Having your statements called offensive, gross, or sexist isn't "censorship". It's people telling you they find your statements offensive, gross, or sexist. That's part of their freedom of speech, just as your right to make the statements is yours.

Joke: something spoken, written, or done with humorous intention. Honestly the fact that someone can say a joke and be called offensive for

"Do what you think is right" ~Pete

"People think the world is over, let me tell you a secret.... It's not." ~Walter

  • Remember when Clementine yelled at Lee about Ben and said, "Ben is my friend, and we don't leave friends behind"? Because it seems like a lot of you don't.

  • The game itself didn't bother me so much; I mean, yeah, I was disturbed by Sarah's death, but it didn't seem to me like she was being singled out for bad treatment in a game where far more characters have died than survived. I never felt that Jane's opinion about leaving her was something that was being pushed as the "right" decision, and it's worth noting that Sarah's eventual death (assuming you saved her earlier) wasn't her fault. She was just standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That interview was really disturbing, though. True, Sarah's fictional, but the fact that the interviewer sums her up as worthless to the point where he's gleeful at her death says something about who he is, and who you are affects how you treat people in the real world.

  • I've tend partially to blame Carlos for Sarah's condition, but I stopped after reading this.

For me, it didn't seem that she was just overprotected. It was in her moves, the way she froze, the way she talked when scared. Read more carefully this thread before saying anything else.

  • I've got to say whether she had problems or not, the point of ep 4 is it dosnt matter. The walkers dont care, which is why they were the ones to kill Sarah and she was brutally killed off like many other characters because the world dosnt care, she did cease to function and die and sadly proved Carlos, Carver and Jane right about her. That dosnt mean every single person with disabilities is like that or would react like that. Furthermore are you suggesting Sarah should not have died purely as it would have caused offence to some people? why can Nick,Sarita,Walter etc all die and people not have this reaction

What people like you fail to realise is that you are being more judgemental and generalising when you think there treatment of Sarah shows what they think of an entire group of people, in your view every one of those people is the same and their view of them is the same. Greg miller hates Sarah he dosnt hate all people with conditions. I dont think they (tell tale) hate Sarah at all they just wanted to show what would probably happen to Sarah in that situation, she was an example of a person that could not handle it and died because of it.

But this post was just another way to look at the situation, just an interesting point. Why you're being so defensive about it?

  • Im not so defensive at least not compared to how aggressive many people are about bringing it up in the first place. Also its the same point again your suggesting they hate all disabled people because of how they treated Sarah like all disabled people are exactly like Sarah.

Why do you keep putting words in my mouth? I never said that. I feel like you're not even reading what I'm saying and arguing here with someone else who is not me.

It's not the same point. This post is more about Carlos, it explained his behaviour, and I only shared it because I'm interested in Carlos as a character and thought that some people would be interested in this too.

I was more replying to your whole thread not just that point, and on that note that was sort of the point. Your putting words in telltale and gregs mouth and now you know how it feels it isnt nice. I know you likely dont feel that way but I'm just showing how easy it is to twist something you say. Don't get me wrong greg still wanted Sarah dead but at the end of the day she is a game charcater.

Thats how people often feel when they are accused of this stuff, your twisting everything they said into something else. Now can we please try to let this go and all be friends, its pretty clear both parties involved in this wernt trashing a whole group of people maybe one of them hated a particular character a bit much but again Sarah isnt real, the situation isnt real.

I don't see how her gender made people hate her. I couldn't care less that she was female, she was just annoying. The only time I care about someone being female is when I want to get laid. I haven't seen anyone hating on her for being female. Bloody tumblr feminists, trying to find sexism when it's not even there...
