I don't think she had the right, but Kenny didn't have the right to lash out at Clem, so I think we're even. :]

I ask the same question to Kenny, regarding his words to Clementine.

all the sh*t that he has been though

Has he been the only one?

Disclaimer: My Clementine and I understand why he did it. He still was a dick about it.

  • Yes. She's been through just as much as he has, and he was taking all of his anger out on her.

  • She had the right.

She most definitely had the right.

  • Well she had a right, but saying that only served to piss him off even more.

  • What she said was the truth. He really wasn't the only one who'd lost people. He's not even a little girl with nobody to care for her.

you guys are right my friend and I were Arguing thanks for clearing it up :D

  • Both were in the wrong. But I can't blame kenny, considering what he has gone through and want he just went through. But the same with clementine.

  • Thanks AmazingAura01

  • I dont see clementine as a bad person but Kenny has been being a c*nt to Clem so i think he deserved it.

  • Yes, she had. But I still didn't call him like that. I just... couldn't.

  • Yes she did, Clementine was getting a lot of shit from Kenny she didn't deserve and Clem had to tell him that he isn't the only one who lost people, so he has to stop acting like it.

  • She had the right. Kenny was being unreasonable this episode.

  • I'd say it wasn't out of line. I mean, I guess she had the right because it's true, Kenny is not the only one who has lost people.

It's not like she was calling Kenny an asshole for the hell of it, or because she was taking anger out on him, she called him an asshole because that's how he was acting, and he had no right to act like everyone else didn't know what loss was...

He has been through so much, but so have a lot of the others... I don't think he realizes it, but Clementine also lost her entire family, she had to see them as walkers, and has to think about the fact that they're still probably roaming around as walkers, if they haven't been killed by a survivor yet, and she also had to kill/leave the last person, Lee, who she felt like was family to her...

  • I actually thought I deserved everything he said. I felt horrible about Sarita that I was already blaming myself. Kenny there is nothing you can say to me that can't make me feel worse than I do already.

To my credit at the end of ep 3 when it came to the choice of chopping Sarita's arm off I didn't see another option. Must've been a bug or something because it took too long for the prompt to show up and I was worried I'd miss it so I didn't consider any other option and just went with the the one it was already on.

But in Clem's perspective she killed Sarita because maybe if I hadn't went for the arm like that we could've gotten out of there and then dealt with the bite. Still not sure how that works but Reggie said he survived a walker bite. So I took Kenny yelling at Clem because at the time I felt it was well deserved.

In season 1 Kenny didn't have any trouble killing Lilli's father in order to avoid him to turn into a walker, so he really can't complain if I did the same thing to his dear Sarita. At least I was trying to save her.

  • looking at it this way, I suppose this is true.

She absolutely had the right. He called Clementine a "stupid fucken kid." Ok, cool. Then you're a redneck asshole.

  • Where was Kenny when Sarita needed him?

  • Kenny was being a douche so yea i think he deserved it.

  • Fuck yeah, she had the right!

  • She spoke her mind in that tent and she definitely had to get some sense into him harshly or not. Kenny needs to realise that he still has Clementine and a baby to be responsible for, He only knew Sarita a short time and Clementine he has known since the beggining and there should be a solid bond there like Lee's and Clementine. He needs to snap out of delirium and stop being a selfish asshole.

  • I've asked this EXACT same thing. But nobody has given me a good answer.

(Now watch people answer my question with another question. "Well, where was Clementine?" Or, my favorite "well, how come Kenny gets blamed for stuff he couldn't control?" That's always a good one.)

  • Kenny was being an asshole. I call people assholes, when they are being an asshole.

  • Considering that Kenny does the following in the early stages of Episode 4:

    1. Separates himself from Sarita for God knows why when Carlos had the sense to keep Clementine and Sarah close to him.

    2. Gets angry at Clementine no matter what she does to Sarita after she is bitten and leaves her behind in a walker hoard in a fit of anger.

    3. Continues to give her hell upon their reunion and makes her out to be the one that causes problems for everyone.

    4. Stays in a tent to feel sorry for himself and assume that he's the only one that suffered out of everyone.

I'd say bravo to Clementine for standing up to Kenny and calling him out on his bullshit.

  • "Had the right"? Of course she did at the moment, Kenny was being an asshole to her. Even if he had just lost Sarita there's no reason why he should've took his anger out on her. Clem done right doing that to him.

  • i thought that calling him that was rude i told him that he helped me all the time

  • I didn't think Clementine had it in her to lash out at him but i think it was a good thing telltale let us experience that.

  • He pretty much behaves the same way as Sarah, only his manliness makes his grief more aggressive and intimidating. There's no way Clem could have slapped HIM into emotional coherence.

How would you know she called him that until she did? Cause the dialogue option was "I shot Lee." It wasn't until after that she said "so don't be an asshole and pretend that you're the only one who's lost people."

Besides, although I was clapping at that moment, it really wasn't meant to be a "diss." She was trying desperately to get through and reconcile to Kenny with that dialogue. She had never opened up that much with anybody in season 2. So, I take it as an almost cathartic moment for Clementine.

Although, the "asshole" thing was a bonus for me.

Yes, she had. But I still didn't call him like that. I just... couldn't.

  • Yep. That's what I said to Kenny. He was being an a-hole and a baby. Clem has gone through everything that he has and more. She has lost her family, and her second family, is way more vulnerable than Kenny, and has still kept her self together. Kenny just keeps giving up. He gave up on the group in season one, and abandoned lee and Clem when they needed him most. But he just wanted to go feel sorry for himself and cry until Sarita saved his stupid ass.
Now he is pulling the same trick. No thanks Kenny, you were once a decent enough guy, but you have lost it. You obviously had some intense brain damage when carver smacked you around and that's on top of the PTSD that you have from whatever you went through when you abandoned lee in season 1. Kenny is a bozo.

  • How would you know she called him that until she did? Cause the dialogue option was "I shot Lee." It wasn't until after that she said "so don't be an asshole and pretend that you're the only one who's lost people."

Before picking that option, you must choose "Carver didn't kill you, whether you like it or not" and I thought that line was a bit harsh for me.

It's mostly because of my personality. I can let people yell at me (since it happens very rarely, because I always follow the rules and try to do everything right), but I have no guts to yell at someone. I prefer to think that I'm just non-confrontial, but let's face the truth - I'm boneless. When someone is mad at me, I'd rather remain silent or just say endless apologies. I try to be as nurturing and as I can. I can't call someone an asshole when they need to lash out on someone and throw away their feelings. It's just the way I am. I grew up in a family where everyone has temper, except me, so I'm tolerant towards people who are hot-headed. I can still call someone else an asshole though :P

However, I agree with you that this moment was cathartic for Clementine. Having dialogue options like this makes her personality much more realistic. Everyone has their own, different Clem.

How would you know she called him that until she did? Cause the dialogue option was "I shot Lee." It wasn't until after that she said "so do

  • Heh. My temper has gotten the better of me before, and if a guy like Kenny were to yell at me I'd respond without even thinking.

Regardless, I still had Clementine avoid going down to his level because I figured that meeting anger with anger would not improve his mood.

  • Oh, I've seen plenty of times when anger meets anger. My mom and my sister can't shut up sometimes :/
