Is Clementine's story... over?

No, just that Kenny and Jane will be dead no matter what you do ..and it's gonna be Clementine and AJ.
No. Season 3 starts with Wellington/Howe's falling and Kenny/Jane dying 10 minutes into the episode then Clem takes off to somewhere else.
It might be over, or Telltale might continue her story by maybe putting a timeskip after where Clementine will end up there no matter which ending she had.
I think it is over for them, there are way too many alternate endings for TT to do another series with Clem.
Looks like Season 3 will be a fresh new start maybe?
The endings weren't necessarily happy but at least she didn't die, so it would make sense to finish her story now.
It is still sad though.
Same here. I think Arvo, Mike and Bonnie may reappear as supporting characters in Season 3, but we'll have a new character OR Christa. This is a good way to conclude Clem's story on a hopeful note without having to kill her off.
Well shit
I hope that Telltale will do a Timeskip and one final season with Clem.
Bonnie is determinant though.
Ending where she's alone with AJ in the herd doesn't really provide any closure. We don't know what happens with her and the baby.
Depends on your definition of 'happy.' The ending I saw of Clem, Jane and AJ allowing a new family into Howe's Hardware provided a hint that they could have started a new society run by smart women. They even had a little black boy who liked Clem's hat.
Come to think of it there was a lot of tribute to Clem from TT before the episode came out and in the trailer at the end it said "Who will you become?".
So I think to conclude her story they have given us the choice of where we want Clem to end up.
The implication is that Clementine is smart and strong enough to last on her own and raise a child without needing unreliable adults.
In my opinion, her story hasn't concluded. All the endings feel too miserable for me.
The perfect ending would be:
Clementine, maybe on a train or something, surrounded by people she trusts and likes. Imagine if we start in season three after a timeskip with a 14 year old Clementine. We get to know what happened after the second season, and Clementine ends up alone again. Then, throughout the season, she meets people who get along with each other and who she can trust.
The perfect ending would be that after various obstacles, a person asks Clem if she's fine. She looks in the camera, smiles, and answers: "I am."
God, the feels.
You are right and If she is on her own going through the herd it shows us that she is a survivor and she can cope in that world, if she goes to Wellington she is either still with Kenny with a bag of supplies and the hope of returning back to Wellington in a few months or she goes straight into Wellington which does seem like a good place after all.
So there isn't a real bad ending.
"Empathy. Humanity. Survival."
I suppose Empathy applies to sticking it out with Kenny, as it implies that you empathize with his pain (at the cost of ignoring his cruelty and irrationality.)
Humanity applies to sticking with Jane and convincing her to form a new community out of Howe's - you push a survivalist to regain her humanity.
Survival means ditching both of those adults in order to raise AJ on your own.
I don't know how I feel about this. If it's it for Clem...
I would be really disappointed that there wasn't a proper closure.
The "perfect ending" for me would have been reuniting at Wellington with Christa.
If they'd have done that, I'd be fine with the story of clem ending. Problem is, I want a happy end. If clem would have spotted christa, ran up to her, and christa would've asked: "How are you?", and Clem would have answered: "I'm fine", smiling, I could've lived with that. But I want a happy end for clem, she deserves one, and the season two endings were alltogether too miserable for me. Especially the Jane ending sounds horrible.
That feels more like a FINAL season ending.
Yeah, that's why I said I don't want season two to be the last one with Clementine as the protagonist. I would love to see her again at some point. She deserves a happy end.
I think its time for Clem's story to end. Too many divergences, too many choices wrapped up in choices, and her just reappearing is going to get stale.
Let's focus on Christa now.
Please don't.
I think the Howe's ending is my least favourite, it just doesn't feel like an ending to a series. I'd say my best is the one where her and Kenny stick together. I like the one where she is on her own too that was a cool ending for me!
I think that the 'happy end' for Clem will only occur once the series itself is over. And god knows when that will happen...
There are no happy endings in TWD.
The Kenny ending seems kinda of a happy ending if you decided to leave Wellington and go with Kenny.
If the comics would have ended with 126, it would have been a happy ending.
Nah
Well did the comics end with 126?
But you can survive with either Jane or Kenny depending on what happened at the fight between them and if you forgive their actions.
Which sounds about as good as you can get in TWD. Bittersweet.
No. You can end the series on a positive note though. What happens after the ending is up for discussion. But I'd like an ending with a happy clementine so that the whole series does not feel wasted.
I hope that her story is over, because this is exactly how I liked her story to end anyways. I don't want any more deaths of Clem's friends. Time to move on guys. We have ~1 year to prepare for whats coming. Have some faith in TTG.
How about Eddie as the playable character with Nate as the antagonist?
I actually quite liked the Howe's ending because Clem encountering a new family to take care of felt vaguely reminiscent of The Road. It provides hope that the mistakes of Carver's community can be learned from, and even introduces a boy who might perhaps become a friend of Clem's.
Only if you trust Kenny. Personally, I think Clem is safest in a community like Wellington or Carver-less Howe's. We can see from the entirety of Season 2 now miserable it is to live in the wilderness.
Bringing Christa BACK would be nice, but let's keep Clem as protag.
Agree. It was incredibly fun playing Clem. NO character can replace her.
I think Christa would work as Season 3's protagonist, as this would allow for another time-skip and have us return to a teenaged Clem in Season 4.
