I don't think by acting mature they'll treat Clem as an adult. I didn't said that. I just said that mentally she's kind of mature now but like you said she's still just a kid. I'm just saying that Clem's opinions sometimes matters now. That's it. Sometimes, not always.
it's nice to think acting mature will make people treat a child like an adult, but they wouldn't, remember they have survived just as long a… mores clementine in the ZA, so she is still just a child, the only adults who would rely on clementine for guidance and leadership would be people just brought out of cryostasis or possibly bunker dwellers
It would be neat if instead of killing Kenny or Jane off in season 3, they just left somewhere somehow. So instead of them just being dead they might be alive, but just somewhere else. The story could still work in that way...but then TT wouldn't be able to taste our delicious tears.
They would have to have separate story lines for Kenny, Clem and AJ .... Jane, Clem and AJ...... Clem and AJ in wellington with Kenny gone..… more It would be very hard to pull off because either Jane or Kenny would be killed off unless they have 2 entire different branches until the end.
I just don't think TWD will be as interesting without her.
I understand what you say, you may be right but I still feel like there is much more to do with her character. Plus she is still loved by a lot of people and her story is still interesting so I don't understand why Telltale would get rid of her like that. But in this episode it looked like they really wanted to end her story.
It is simple as this.
* Clem's story is over - a shitload of people will be mad.
* Clem's 5 endings will tie together in the new story - less people will be mad.
Yeah, but they will be more mad if Clem story ends, even if you play as a new character and just meet her once on the way. If she was at least a side character that'd be fine.
I'm not gonna put my hand in a fire and guess what Telltale will do, but they certainly realize that most of the money they get from this game is because of Clem.
They should end her story. Honestly I was 100% satisfied with the endings and I don't see how they can manage to do 5 different story lines at once. People may say that their decisions "Didn't matter" well of course they did! They mattered for the ending of the season and the impact it had on you.
I would be really annoyed if they just shortly explained why Kenny disappeared or died (if they decide to get rid of them). I chose the Kenny ending, that is why. That is a massive cop out.
I agree with you. I'd be incredibly pissed if we don't see Clementine again. I want to see her mature through countless trials and horrors into a strong, young woman.
Yeah, but they will be more mad if Clem story ends, even if you play as a new character and just meet her once on the way. If she was at lea… morest a side character that'd be fine.

If there wasn't going to be a season 3 I would say that the endings provided adequate closure, and more than adequate emotional abuse. Since there will be a season 3, however, I want it to continue Clem's story since that's why I'm invested in the game in the first place.
Great idea! Make episode 1 different depending on the choices you made in ep5 and then episode 2 could be the same with some small differences, Perhaps?
One more option is to make a season about what happened in the blackscreen - when Christa Omid and Clem left Savannah and after Omid died. That would take care of multiple endings since they would stay. Problem is there wouldn't be element of surprise since we know how it ends, Christa and Clem end up in a forest without Christa's baby.
I agree with you. I'd be incredibly pissed if we don't see Clementine again. I want to see her mature through countless trials and horrors into a strong, young woman.
Yep, I feel like at least my ending in Wellington was a great closure for Clem, and I'm ready to move on, but I don't really care who I'll play as as long as the story will be good.
And we can't expect them to make 5 different games, neither can we expect a decent plot device to combine all the paths together, it's unrealistic, it's time to start a new page.
i would prefer clementine being a side character again over being her being protagonist again, but no i bought season 1 because of telltale and the walking dead combined, i bought season 2 because of lee and his character and i wanted more like it, sure his connection with clementine was a big part of lee's character but season one wasn't about clementine.
i was "meh" about clementine being announced as season two protagonist, but i thought i would give it a good chance based on season 1 and 400 days and now i am still "meh" about clementine as protagonist of season 2, i love her as a character but that doesn't mean i want to be her as protagonist or that she is the only reason i bought the game.
i think most people bought the game because they wanted a quality story, not because of clementine

It wouldn't be too bad for it to be concluded with this season. What would be really cool is playing another character and eventually bumping into Clem and AJ + the character you saved (if you tagged along with them)
We know that Kenny and Jane are determinant, so neither one will figure much in S3. The one thing that won't change is Clem and AJ being together, because they end up together no matter which ending you choose. That would make it possible for a slightly different beginning episode for S3 as others have said--Clem is either on her own and finds a new group, or is with them already at the beginning, and she tells them how she and AJ got to where they are.
That would probably involve a time skip, though, and if I recall correctly the series has to stay within the time frame for the comics. I forget how much time has passed in the comics--at this point I believe they're a bit over year or so ahead of the game, so the oldest Clem could be is about 13. AJ would probably be just starting to walk.
On the other hand TTG could avoid a long time skip by having Clem and AJ end up at Wellington without Kenny or Jane:
Kenny somehow gets in, but is eaten by walkers on a scouting mission (or something).
Kenny left you, so you don't know what happened to him, but you are at Wellington.
If you went with Jane, the hardware store situation goes bad (either the family is bad, or there are walkers) so Clem and AJ push on to Wellington.
If Clem ended up without Kenny or Jane, she just goes to Wellington without them.
All the versions of TWD are different, but there are certain themes, and I'm thinking the game will continue one of them.
WARNING, possible TV show, novel, and comic spoilers! Go away if you don't want to be mildly spoiled!***
In all versions, somebody has lost an arm and lived. In all of them, there's a baby. In all of them, somebody covers themselves with zombie goo (or leads disabled zombies) to get through herds. In the comics and TV show, there's the prison. Cannibalism has figured in the game and show (I don't recall seeing it in the comics...yet). The governor is in the show and novels. Eugene and his cure are in the comics and S5 of the show.
OK, mild spoilers over
The game has had one settlement--Carver's group. But I'm thinking that since the other settlements in the other versions were a bit different and bigger, the game might stay at Wellington, since it's a different and bigger settlement. Clem's character could go a great new direction there--so far she's been wandering around a lot, killing zombies, but if there's unrest in Wellington she might get a chance to make a real difference, maybe starting a rebellion or trying to stop one from wrecking the safety of the settlement.
Something like that could really move the story forward--in most post-apocalyptic storytelling, that's a serious issue. Wandering around killing zombies gets pretty old, so you have to go somewhere from there and you've got basically two choices. One is a Kung Fu/Fugitive format where the character finds a settlement, solves a problem, and moves on. The second one, which I see the opportunity for, is to put a lot of humans together against the zombies and see what happens.
I will actually say yes, let's move on. I don't want Clem to come back only to realize that the end choice the player made will end up being irrelevant. It always happen to characters who's lives are determinate, TT make their roles reduced then eventually kills them off. I don't want to see Jane die or her role reduced and she ends up dying off screen anyway, she's too awesome of a character.
If TT will actually commit to these end choices, only then will I feel comfortable for Clem to return
The most logical thing for TT to do is to create a season 2-3 DLC bridge to tie everything together for a lead-in to season 3. If nothing else, just to make S3E1 easier to create.
Totally agree. Plus, a new character with a new back story will allow us to explore different themes. We dealt with redemption, forgiveness, and trust. Let's learn some new themes or explore the alternates paths of the ones we have done. Watch next season we get a new protagonist and by the end of that season, everyone will beg for that person or the deuteragonist to continue on in season 4. TellTale has a way of keeping their fan base engaged, even when everyone questions their motives.
Yep, I feel like at least my ending in Wellington was a great closure for Clem, and I'm ready to move on, but I don't really care who I'll p… morelay as as long as the story will be good.

No. Season three has to be about Clem. She's the center of Telltale's the Walking Dead. I probably would not be interested in the game anymore if the third season would start with new characters.
I say have Christa star in season 3 and show everything that she went through in season 2 without Clem. Then for season 4 timeskip and focus on Clem's story again.
On one hand, I didn't get much more closure than I did with season one.
On the other hand, the only way I can see them continuing is if they pull a Christa and have whoever Clem ended up with disappear, essentially invalidating any value that season 2's final choice had.
I feel like we should just have a new group in Season 3 that meets up with Clementine in Season 4, so then our choices with Clementine's fate are all concealed and it will lead to allot of speculation.
I don't think they should. I think continuing would kind of cheapen the endings. With how different all of them were, Telltale would have to really stretch to make a game that could potentially fit all five of them. I would rather just see them go forward with a new character.
I got the ending with Clem, Jane, AJ and the family, and I really liked it. They're in a safe place, they can grow vegetables, and even if the man has a gun it really doesn't mean anything, he could have used that to threat us in the first place, but he didn't. Even if new groups of survivors join in, the place is big enough to create a quite large community. I loved everything of this ending because it's an open one, and is up to you to consider it full of hope (like I did) or not (if you think that the family is dangerous for Clem, Jane and AJ).I really hope that Telltale doesn't waste it by making Clem the main character from season 3, especially when we have lots of other characters whose fate is unknown and that could fullfill that role better (Christa, Lilly, 400 days characters etc etc).
mmm ive come around to the people saying new character for s3, and I respect it now don't agree still, but even if I'd agreed w/ you I don't think they could. I mean from what I saw theres a BIG, and still, story to tell. multiple ending, kinda, so I don't think they can do that. hell ill tell you this, I am excited for this season 2 DLC if there is going to be one.
You know what? Maybe they'll make DLC for season 2 with Clementine where Telltale will direct all the stories based on endings to the same point (with different events in each endings) so season 3 could start in the same way for everyone? It's just theory, of course.

IDK, ja I mean right now TT can do so much. I mean the s1 ending could've ended clem's story, lets be honest, now theres so much here that they can work with that's clem's story. I actually wouldn't mind a new character would be interesting with a fresh face if done right. Maybe go back to close to the start of the outbreak and see it from another characters view who hasn't been seen before. That being said I wouldn't mind continuing Clementine's story either. I'm sure I'll be happy either way and after playing through this latest one I'm sure it'll be good either way.

I hope they just have teams of writers writing the season 3's episode one beginning.

Why can't they just have a few teams of writers, Writing depending on what choices you made in ep5? Thus creating multiple beginnings.
I wouldn't.
I believe they will somehow merge them together by using a "7 years later"

Still. Not. Possible.
But then I'd definitly want to see an extended prologue showing what happened because otherwise the final choices wouldn't matter.

The typical differences like Clem telling people what Lee told her, but the direction of the story would be synced up.
