Official Arvo (Opposite of) Appreciation Thread
Arvo, try to make me hate you more. . .you can't.
Don't give me this BS that Kenny was too hard on him . . .as it turns out, he was right! Not a single person on this forum can honestly stick up for this harry potter looking doofus.
Clem, at least my Clem, was nice to him before and after the shoot out and the kid is still giving me dirty looks. I mean this kid gave me the same look you give someone who is talking too loud on their cell phone at the movie theater and I didn't do anything!
Aww boo hoo you lost your sister, not like everyone else has lost someone they love. . .oh wait yes they have! I loved Mike this episode and I understand Bonnie and Mike wanting to go but seriously if I ever see Arvo again there will be no second chances.
I haven't replayed an episode yet of this game (besides 400 days) but I will actually go back and replay episode 5 just so I can encourage Kenny to whack the Russian accent out of this kid. Arvo, my Clem has a finger pointed at you and when and if I see you again you better hope the game doesn't give me the option to kill you.
Arvo. F U.

I never thought I would hate a character more than Carver and Troy, but Arvo proved me wrong.
I felt bad for him until he shot Clementine. After he did that, he pissed me off
Why must I be the only fan of Arvo here? It gets kind of lonely.
Hm, I wonder what Clem would've done in Arvo's situation. If a random group of strangers murdered all of her friends and family and then abused the shit out of her for days, and Clem was then given an opportunity to escape her captors but was caught and had a gun pointed at her. Don't know about you guys, but my Clem would've shot, no questions asked, and booked it :P
I'm an Arvo fan :P
whoops repost
I really don't know why you like him so much, I can't find anything likeable about him.
It's already a little less lonely.
Oh, except if Clem hands the gun over quietly to Mike and agrees to let them leave, Arvo still shoots her. Even if Clem asks to come with them, to which Mike smiles and agrees, he shoots her.
Funny, that.
Same here. It's partly to do with him being so vehemently hated.
He kind of reminds me of a male Sarah.
There's also the fact that, from Arvo's point of view, Clem murdered his sister. And I'm not really sure Arvo knew that Clem wanted to leave with them. No speaka da English and all that.
I thought it was original . . .and slightly humorous
But Kenny did those things to him because his group tried to kill our group . . .idk seems like a pretty legit reason to me lol.
I mean in this discussion there IS a right or wrong since Arvo ended up shooting Clem (for no reason.) If you are a fan of Arvo you are just a hipster who like unlikeable characters.
LOL. "If a random group of strangers murdered all of my friends"
LMAO, uhm dude you kind of forgot the part where his gang initiated the gun fight and threatened our group. Kind of crucial part of the story.
Which was still wrong. She didn't. Arvo just wanted her to die due to his own irrational way of coping with grief. When Clem's freezing to death after she fell into the lake, before Kenny even laid a finger on him, he keeps giving her a death glare[one of many in the episode].
You don't think he understood? Pick that option in the scene, and as soon as Clem says she wants to come, watch his face. It was a look of "no way she's coming with us", to me.
FUCKARVO
Actually, the Russian translation blatantly showed that Arvo's group was just as reluctant to shoot anyone as Clem's group. They only wanted to take back what was stolen from them and not to hurt anyone. They only fired because Clem/Kenny shot Rebecca, for which no one was to blame. That whole shoot out was tragic because no one wanted it to happen.
I don't know, I kinda liked Arvo, I mean sure he shot Clem, but I just like to think he didn't understand that his sister was a walker when she shot her, like his group hadn't learned that (Given the language barrier from other groups)
Plus my Clem robbed him, so he is more understandable that way
Cheered Kenny on every time. I was pissed that they don't even give you a chance to kill him on the spot in the truck encounter. Tried, but no luck.
I feel like the Arvo situation is a lot like The Stranger, where it makes a whole lot more sense if you do all the "evil" things.
Like, if you robbed Arvo and said "he deserves it" when Kenny was beating him up, you could understand why Arvo would want to shoot you.
I guess Clem shooting his sister could be motivation enough, but it's 2 years into the zombie apocalypse, I think he probably knew that she had turned.
The fact is that Arvo likely didn't know that. He was clearly convinced Natasha was alive because he was pumping her chest. He never saw her turn because Kenny was holding her hostage, and only got to see Clem shoot her in the face. No one ever tells him what actually happened. Clem never tells him that his sister turned.
So his reluctance to let Clem come makes perfect sense. Besides, his facial expression is actually the same throughout most of that scene no matter what you say.
I'm not a hipster, it's called opinions kirb, remember when you predicted episode 5 would release in October? You stuck with your gut, and I respected that, could you please respect the opinions of people who like Arvo?
You are wrong on so many levels.
1) Idc about the Russians translation. . . they initiated the gun fight by drawing guns. Because Arvo is a little baby who can't persuade his friends to put their guns down, doesn't change the circumstance.
2) Nothing was stolen from them in most playthroughs. . . if anything they should be thanking us for NOT stealing their things.
3) Clearly, that was not the only reason they fired. Kenny/ Clem shot a member of their own group . . .so I don't think that would have initiated anything.
Buricko started the confrontation. He was the one who demanded that the group take "everything", despite Arvo and Natasha's attempts to negotiate and calm things down. And it was he who started the gunfight by taking advantage of the shock caused by Rebecca's shooting.
So what, it's Clementine's fault that she got shot now because she didn't tell him the obvious? Say what you will, nothing excuses shooting an unarmed kid with an assault rifle, after she agreed to let you go.
My Clem was always decent to him, there was no reason for him to shoot her if not because he wanted her dead for some irrational reason. The fact that he shoots her no matter what says a lot about him.
No, I replied to Kirbinator93PC on my screen.
Except that my Clem didn't steal from him. We gave back his stuff and let him go. He was probably hiding it for his own use when we saw him and then just used us as scapegoats when his group noticed it was missing. I mean, he told them we robbed him when we didnt, and I doubt he was talking about the gun Jane didn't give back cuz no way they would risk getting into a firefight with armed strangers cuz of one dinky gun.
Hmm, I wonder why Arvo did what he did. Could it be because he was afraid Kenny was going to beat him to death like he tried to do several times? Anyone would do the same thing if they were scared.
Uhm no. . .are people really this dumb? He started the confrontation through Arvo who could of said no, could of opted out, could of told them the truth (if you didn't steal), could have kept everything cool but nope Arvo really messed up. I mean essentially he killed his own sister but is too dumb to realize this.
Uhm actually no. I understand he was scared. . .but you realize Kenny was right, right? I mean Arvo shot Clem for no reason. . . after disobeying Kenny on the lake. Now, I won't go as far as to blame Lukes death on Arvo but Arvo was 100% in the wrong throughout the entire episode. I don't care the justification of him being afraid/ him thinking Clem killed his sister/ or him being bullied , it doesn't change the fact he was wrong.
The opposite of appreciation is called depreciation. Just letting ya know.

I am so pissed at him, he made me cry like a baby, damn I wasn't expecting that first I felt betrayed cause of Mike and Bonnie and then in the next second I see him shooting Clem and I was just so sad and angry, I can't believe I felt bad for him because of Kenny, I shouldn't have, cause in the end he is just like Kenny, tries to kill for revenge, even if its not the person's fault.
Also, there is no way his group doesn't know that you come back even if ur not bitten. It's been like 2 years since the outbreak. No way no one in their group died of something else in all that time. Or is he so stupid and delusional that he thinks his sister just resuscitated herself and then crawled towards Clem to ask for help, and that Clem then callously shot her in the face?
It's been 2 years since the outbreak. No way no one in their group died from anything other than walkers in all that time.
Arvo's POV of Clementine:
No, what was he right about? They did find a place and it did have food in it. Kenny had been abusing the kid from the start and thats why he kept trying to run away. Just like Mike said, if Kenny hadnt been hurting and scaring the kid, maybe he would have settled down and Luke might be alive.
Pretty much, yes. Just like how Lilly was convinced she could've saved Larry if Kenny hadn't interfered. Just like how Kenny thought Sarita could've been saved if Clem hadn't cut her arm off. People become irrational and stupid when their loved ones are lost, we've seen it before.
As Kenny said in episode 3: "Man, fuck that guy!" I hated Arvo more for the fact that he fucking shot Clem!!
My Clem was practically a pacifist the whole game, and she' forgiven people for some awful, horrible things. However, Arvo has sealed his fate at this point. He better not come anywhere near her and any other PCs if he knows what's good for him. Bonnie and Mike, too.
