Are the Kenny-haters just a REALLY vocal minority?
I haven't found genuine anti-Kenny sentiment anywhere outside of this forum, which makes me wonder if the fans who are opposed to the character simply compensate for their small numbers by being twice as loud and abrasive.
They've been granted a chance to kill Kenny for good, but even a determinant death isn't enough. Nothing other than a random, appropriately "pointless" demise like Luke's would appease them.
For those who think Telltale lavished too much attention on Kenny, I'd argue that Telltale put Kenny through the worst of ANY of the characters simply by keeping him alive in this harsh world. But season 2 has officially wrapped, and the haters are still baying for his blood.
I'll probably quit the forum before too long, at least until season 3 begins, because all this bile is wearing me down.

The people you're talking about could never get over the fact Kenny returned for season 2 at all. They were the same who were warning Telltale they wouldn't play if Kenny returned, in an obvious attempt at blackmailing Telltale into obeying their will.
I feel kinda sorry for them, their hatred for this character must have partly ruined their gaming experience. The very sight of him made them sick because they didn't want this character to be back, and that's why now they resort to accuse Telltale of bad writing or favoritism.
Now all they've got is their little anti-Kenny crusade and the energy they spend on preying at every comment praising Kenny, the lengths they go to try to twist and turn even his objectively redeeming qualities into reasons why people should actually despise him, it's quite amazing.

Probably. I think they're just vocal because they're mad that other people like a character they don't like.

Either that or they're so stupid that they don't notice that about a third to a half of people side against Kenny which is hardly a tiny minority and they just want to pretend they're in the vast majority because humans are biologically programmed to feel comforted by that

Do you base this on the numbers of who killed Kenny and who not? If so, I must point out to you that it doesn't tell anything about those people being Kenny-haters. I know that even some fans of his chose to shoot him and then felt like shit after doing it. There's other reasons to shoot him than just hating him you know.

Although I really respected Kenny for what he does in his endings, I don't like the message being portrayed by his character here. The most emotionally satisfying and arguably "happiest" ending requires the player to stick with a man who himself thinks that he should probably be put down for becoming the monster that he is. It doesn't matter that he killed people out of bloodlust or tore the group apart with his obsession. Stick with him. That's the only way to reach safety.
