Does Kenny kind of remind you of Joel from TLOU?
I think he does.
Not just cause his new beard, but also their stories.
Kenny and Joel both lost their families in the early days.
Both became angry men, and could be brutally violent.
And both had a child, ironically both girls, bring back their humanity.

Kenny came first. Hail Kenny
Yup, a better version of Joel tbh ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ノ
Yeah actually, they have a similar story.
While they have their similarities, Joel is calmer and more rational (in some areas) compared to Kenny, but not quite as sociable and group orientated.
Yes and no
Joel was definetly the more stable though
I don't know about that.
Joel was even more violent than Kenny!
Please explain, I'm curious?
Well said!
Except Joel is a phenomenally well written character complete with genuine character flaws and interesting moral dilemmas.
Kenny is a boring character who is either pissed at everything or a caring and seemingly copasetic survivalist.
How is the Last of Us..
On a scale of 1 through 10, how would you rate TLOU?
I think I might play it.
Odd that i'm helping you out here as we're arguing on another thread XD , but yeah- The Last Of Us is a great game, I definitely recommend playing it. The first few minutes of the game managed to make me tear up, Naughty Dog is great at story telling.
Scale from 1 to 10? 14,
Don't look for ratings, play it,
facepalm
Ugh. You state this as if it is fact. I think most people will agree that both Joel and Kenny are superbly written characters.
Both do have some similarities but joel is more calmer than Kenny while Kenny is an loose cannon. Joel is far more violent than Kenny.
No, I state it as personal opinion... I shouldn't have to put a disclaimer over all my opinions just because they go against the vast majority of users here, just like you shouldn't have to because you're opinion is one most agree with.
Oh wow, I was actually thinking this the other day! They are a bit similar, aren't they? They're both broken people who can do awful things, but still have a heart of gold and just want to keep the kid they met safe.
I'd say Joel is a lot better at keeping his cool, but also a lot more violent. mild TLOU spoilers? Joel used to be one of those bandits that would kill random people for the sake of stealing their supplies, like the ones that were all over Pittsburgh in-game. I even remember his brother Tommy saying he has nothing but nightmares from early days of the apocalypse due to the things Joel did to keep them alive. Despite all that, Joel's still a very lovable character.
I think the fact that I've played through TLOU so many times really made it even easier for me to stick with Kenny at the end.
That's a big reason I like Kenny more than Joel.
Plus, Kenny never did stop caring about people, which was proven by his caring for Clementine, Sarita, and Alvie.
Joel stopped caring about everyone really, until Elle came around.
Interesting.
Though I would honestly say that Kenny is the better man, wouldn't you?
He never intentionally robbed anyone, nor hurt/killed anyone all for the sake of their stuff.
Remember the Station Wagon incident in Season 1; episode 2?
No one really knew if it was really abandoned or not, so it's not like Kenny took those supplies with malicious intent, but rather for the sake of feeding his family.
And I'd also say, Joel was more dangerous.
The fact that he was able to keep his cool, even in times of violence, made him even more dangerous cause he was able to still think clearly.
I agree! Kenny's certainly done some bad stuff, but nothing as bad as Joel has done.
Joel was a complete monster of a human being compared to Kenny.
Joel is a beast and a sexual tyrannosaur.
Kenny was trying to steal Joel's shine...
Kenny is a god compared to Joel
Well, in Joel's defense. It was implied he cared for Tess.
Nope, Joel was nice, Kenny is just an intolerant fuck
I actually agree with Everyone'sClemInTime
Ummm I'd say they're about equal.
XD That's an epic face you got there! And BTW Cartoon Network is running an Attack on Titan Marathon!
How is that bastard still standing after taking a hit like that?
What exactly do you mean by intolerant? It could mean it in a lot of different ways.
Thank you!
I gotta say, if I was in a life or death scenario,, I'd want a guy like Kenny to have my back.
Yes he's got a temper, but he has stronger humanity and decency about him, as opposed to Joel.
Kenny is more of guy who'll stick by you.
I guarantee that bastard won't be standing for long.
Makes sense I guess. Joel was also willing to murder people to protect people they love.
Hell Joel doesn't even get to claim insanity. he just wasn't willing to let Ellie go even though it might have saved humanity.
Kenny's crazier though. But I still like him.
I give it a 9/10
Some of the best gameplay and the storytelling is superb. Great production values and it squeezed every ounce of juice out of the PS3. It also has a very fun multiplayer that easily put a good 300+ hours into.
We don't have CN in Israel
Watch it (◞≼◉ื≽◟ ;益;◞≼◉ื≽◟)
This character is gud cuz he good.
This character bad cuz he bad.
k
Joel was incredibly generic for me. The guy who's lost everything and won't give anything back to the world. Yeah, we haven't seen enough of those in the year 2013 cough BIOSHOCKINFINITE cough. This guy has more oneliners than facial expressions or even personality traits for that matter.
Yes they are similar. I made a thread comparing Kenny to Rick Grimes and Joel and how they all do what needs to be done for their loved ones. Kenny is a perfectly written character.
Nope. Kenny reminds me of another sailor, captain Morgan.
.
You know, with those kinds of character traits, Kenny could seem like a lot of characters. There's an entire section on TVTropes about broody male characters with young girl companions who bring back their humanity or whatever. It's kind of a boring, overdone character setup, if we're being totally honest. What matters is how it's done. Kenny had some good things to his story, but a lot of it just felt rehashed from the first season. I don't know how Joel's story plays out since I haven't played TLOU.
One of the things I loved about Lee and Clementine was that Lee never became a brooding jerk who needed his humanity brought back. He could be violent and get angry for justifiable reasons, but although he was living in regret for what he did, he pushed it aside to take care of this little girl he just found and was going to protect. It was never about Clementine saving him from himself or whatever, but more about Lee proving himself to be better than how he would have been deemed by society in the past.
