Luke of course, he is so much more reliable, stronger, and all round just better at everything good than Jane.

Its cliche because its true.
Clementine couldn't even pull herself out of the water so it's even less likely that she could pull Luke or Jane out of the water. The fact that Luke is heavier and injured means that the most logical solution would be to save Jane - even though it's still incredibly unlikely that Clementine would be able to succeed in the task.
Dude, don't analyze it or go for realism, if this game was realistic there wouldn't be zombies.

Haven't they dropped the whole realism ball by now, i mean they had Clementine break down a door, fall into a river without drowning, or getting sick, beat a grown mans ass in physical combat...
They dropped it since season 1 episode 4, Molly climbing a bridge with her icepick, Molly kicking Kenny's ass and Lee's, Vernon beating up Kenny, Clementine picking up Lee and dragging him through to store, Lee not dying from blood loss, etc.
They dropped it in season 1 episode 1, Walkers.
Alright, fine whatever, if that makes you happy.
I base my decisions on what makes the most sense. Saving Luke in this scenario doesn't make sense to me. I can be as realistic as the story allows - Jane is lighter and uninjured, the smart play is to save her because it's more likely to succeed.
Yeah, but I can still make the most realistic decision available to me.
Would save Luke hands down.

Luke of course. He saved Clem from getting chewed up by walkers in episode 1, and that puts him okay in my book. Jane pulled Clem out of the ice-cold water, and was about to drown, but i like Luke better, and we've known him longer than Jane.
