Arvo might have also been paranoid and panicked. He certainly wasn't thinking rationally when he did what he did, as it made no sense to attract Kenny and Jane's attention to what was happening. Seeing the girl who he thinks killed his sister point her gun at him is certainly going to put him on edge and the standoff between her and Mike was tense. Even if you had absolutely no intention of shooting Mike, Arvo didn't know that. He might have still seen Clem as a threat so as soon as he saw a chance to neutralize her, he took it. But I guess if you don't excuse Nick's actions either, then there's not much more to talk about.
I don't disagree with you that what Arvo did was messed up. And I don't give him as much slack as I do Christa. But I do give him some slack given what he's been through. It doesn't mean that I immediately forgive him, only that I don't completely despise him for what he did. But it would certainly be a "leave him on the side of the road" type thing.
Maybe Arvo is also "trigger happy" (I'm not sure why this is an excuse) and saw Clem as a threat to his and his group. I mean, she was point… moreing a gun at them and he's seen before that she's not afraid to shoot.
He pulls his gun on her first, unless you beat him to it. Also, he shoots Clem even when she gives her gun up, which kind of erases that argument.
Nick was just paranoid and he panicked. I don't even excuse what he did either, but it is not the same thing as the Arvo situation.
No...she was still a child. And what does it matter? Is executing a 15 year old really so much better than executing an 11 year old?
Where has it ever been said that she was 15? Maybe Christa should be judged harsher for this reaction, I don't know. All I know is that what Arvo did was messed up, and I won't give him any slack for it.
Ok so in Arvo's mind, when she STOPS getting CPR, she suddenly goes from unresponsive on the floor to reviving and crawling away. Did he really not notice her making zombie sounds and have the zombie face already? You dont get that face unless you turn before your brain is destroyed you know?
Either way, if Clem did kill his sister its his fault for trying to get his stupid gang and his sister to rob clems group. Dont use your sister as an armed thug if you dont want her to get hurt you Derpbag
He never thoroughly looks at her to see if she had turned.
Plus, Kenny holds him hostage and only sees her crawling away during the struggle, and assumes that she's trying to crawl away from the gunfire.
Did he really not notice her making zombie sounds and have the zombie face already? You dont get that face unless you turn before your brain is destroyed you know?
He didn´t hear her and he couldn´t see her clearly.

Again, I ain’t asking you to forgive the kid—just give him a break. If you have any humanity at all, you’d give him a break.
He started it. He tried to rob the group , and in a life/death situation that can only end one way. Don't give me this bullshit that he is some innocent kid, he was probably stealing from his own group why else would he put supplies in the trash can, then blamed Clementine (det.) if you did not steal from them, because Yes the supplies probably still went missing, that is because ARVO STOLE THEM HIMSELF.
Personally he didn't do anything to me so i don't have a problem with him, but Clementine doesn't like him. She thinks he is a asshole. You know what, so do i, but he has a few hilarious 1 liners.
I know someone already said this, but if an 11 year old girl or boy (doesn't matter), killed my sister, I would never shoot them. You don't shoot a kid. Also, he could've realized that girl wouldn't kill his sister in cold-blood, but he was too angry to even think about that possibility.
That's different, she shot his sis and he thought it was murder. It's not like he just shot it for the lulz, you aren't going to forgive someone for that
Well, that's all up to your morals I guess. If you don't think shooting an 11 year old girl is any worse than shooting a 50 year old man, then so be it.
ITA with that. Everytime I complain about Kenny beating him while he was bound and helpless, someone says, "Well he shot a kid." Yeah, that completely justifies everything Kenny was doing to him before that.
What's worse is that by making him shoot Clem no matter what, they've retroactively justified Kenny being a bigoted, abusive ass towards him… more. It's okay that a young, disabled, frightened boy is forced to lose his family and then constantly be beaten and terrorized because he eventually shoots a kid.
Just because someone is wrong for reacting to abuse by hurting innocent people doesn't absolve the person who hurt them in the first place. Indeed, it actually puts them at fault.
It makes sense for Arvo to shoot Clem if you were a jerk, but I was nothing but nice, and who cares if i shot his sister, i would've shot her had she not been a walker, cause she was pointing a gun at us. Most importantly i don't like him cause him shot ME like me as clem (I am clem), i play in the way if anyone shoots me they're a bad person (i.e. bandit), because i would be nice no matter what, so that guy was nuts...
Not really. The Walking Dead Game subreddit is far more mature and considerably calmer than this forum. You won't find heated arguments or shit-slinging there, only the odd rational debate or friendly discussion. The content in general is also better on the subreddit.
I would go there from time to time to read the funny stories, a long while back, i have no idea what it is like there now. Sometimes they take things just way too far, besides the government frequently monitors all traffic through 4chan.
Clementine tries to stop Jane from robbing him, gets dragged into an ambush that he helped instigate, shoots the sister that was crawling towards her after she had clearly bled out, tries to defend him from Kenny, and potentially gives up her weapon so that she can be robbed of all the vital supplies that she and an infant need to survive. Then he feels the need to shoot her.
I'm sorry, I know there's two sides to every story and that grief makes you irrational, but at this point I have trouble seeing much defense for the guy.
Arvo doesn't know Clementine at all like we do! Clem brings him only pain and suffering. We have this pre-conceived notion that Arvo's a bad dude because Kenny's always yelling at him and never letting him speak for himself. In the firefight, he didn't want any bloodshed. He was blindly trying to save his sister (who was already dead) through CPR and when he saw her reanimate then shot, it was like snuffing out the light from a candle, all his hope was gone and replaced with a deep setted grief and anger at the people who only brought him misery. He had no power at all and no control up until Mike and Bonnie (d) take him with them. Given the gun, he took the opportunity to seize the power offered to him but instantly regretted shooting Clem. It's so sad that TellTale never gives him a chance to change his perception of Clem. No Arvo will remember that moments, hardly any chance for interaction. What a waste of a character.
Fuck Arvo. I didn't shoot his sister until she was dead and trying to eat me.
I gave him every chance I could for him to understand that MY Clem is a good person.
He shot her when she was unarmed and posed no threat to him. Fuck him. I hope he dies in a fire.
I read like 3 or 4 lines, maybe? It's a garbage post. Protip: If you're going to troll you need to put in the minimal amount of effort required or else you've only managed to troll yourself.
Would love to beat Arvo to death with a club fashioned from his sister's skull and spine. Should've shot him at the start of the episode. Definitely should've shot him when you get to the unfinished lake-house.
He could've tried to talk to her, he could've asked her why she shot his sister. He didn't even let her a chance to explain herself. And he was mean to her even before that, lying about her stealing from him when she didn't.
Blame the writers. They didn't give Arvo a chance for redemption at all. No reversal of character or anything. Nope, he was just a plan old Russian villain, fueled in this belief by Kenny's bigotry. I hate that he wasn't ever given a chance.
He could've tried to talk to her, he could've asked her why she shot his sister. He didn't even let her a chance to explain herself. And he was mean to her even before that, lying about her stealing from him when she didn't.
I wish being nicer to him would have at least changed something, like maybe if you were nice to him, he would say "I'm sorry!" Or "I didn't mean to!" After he shoots you. As far as being nice or rude to Arvo goes, it doesn't even make a single difference, and stealing or not from him hardly made a difference, except for like one dialogue option.
A lot of people disagree. I'm not one of them - in real circumstances, CPR would do jack shit without the proper medication - but I'm drawing parallels between Lilly's irrational belief and Arvo's.
Huh, just like how people believed that performing CPR on Larry would have brought him back...
Larry was unsalvagable. Besides, what does this have to with what I said?
Yeah, this about sums up my viewpoints on him. When I saw the option to shoot his sister, I didn't shoot and I got a non canon death, so this was like TWAU Spoiler how in the fight in episode 5 of TWAU you always have to stab Georgie so he can die End of spoiler so when that happened I knew this would have to come back and haunt me. I'm a bit sad that it had to happen so the plot could go on.

I honestly don’t care what you’re opinion is on him—I gave it my best effort to try and make you see the opposite side to make a proper judgement, that’s all.
Took a while to write that up, anyway, so I’d appreciate people not calling it garbage. People, man. Just… pathetic to the point where they try to make others feel like shit to get themselves to feel better, that's what it comes to?

Someone else to shoot it, there have been several instances in the game where if you don't shoot or do some sort of action the game still progresses. Don't shoot the walker on Kenny? Kenny shoots it. Don't press Q when you fall in the water? Don't worry, nothing changed. I was hoping something like that would happen, but it was a blind hope.
Don't worry, Lemoncakes is one of those rabid 'fanboys' who make the whole idea of being a fan seem embarrassing. Or a troll. Either way, you can ignore him.

I bite my lip and wait until I get a chance for payback personally, it worked for Carver and just about everyone in that accused camp. There is a difference between bravado and just plain stupid....Kenny always likes crossing that line, but I admire him for it because he does it for those he cares about. Arvo only does it to retaliate for pain caused to himself and everyone else can burn. He was even stating during the standoff in ep.4 in Russian "I don't want to die"....and then gives up when his group is killed and bargains to live by saying he knows were food is. Arvo could have buried the hatchet during this period...but he doesn't because his mind is already made up as to what Clementine did to his sister.
Arvo is no victim other then of circumstance and his own poor choices really...
If you try to negotiate with Arvo in Episode 4, he clearly regrets that his group went too far and tells Clem that he wished they met in bet… moreter circumstances. "You were kind. That is not common." It's also not at all his fault that his sister died when it was Buricko who started the gunfight, and likely one of Clem's group members (Kenny?) who shot his sister. Also remember that as far as Arvo was concerned, he saw his sister crawling towards Clem and assumed she was alive when Clem shot her.
And what's wrong with him being defiant? People admire Kenny's stupid bravado when he took Carver's beating, and so do I. Even if you know that it'll hurt you, it's admirable to stand up to people abusing you rather than simply sniveling and cowering. I LIKED that Arvo was strong enough to tell Kenny to fuck off, and that he refused to beg for mercy while Kenny went off on him like an overgrown child.
Arvo is stupid. Once Clem drops the gun she is no longer a threat. By shooting her and alerting everyone you have lost your opportunity to take the truck that would save your life, and you have lost the trust of Bonnie and Mike who you need to survive. If Bonnie and Mike did not follow him then he is practically as good as dead, can't see him surviving long on his own.
Simply because they didn't use that exact phrasing doesn't deny that a lot of them felt perfectly justified in hating Arvo and being okay with him being mistreated BECAUSE he ends up shooting Clementine.
What'd have been braver on Telltale's part would actually be challenging that hatred and making Kenny out to be unsympathetic, but of course they didn't have the guts to do that. "Edginess" is only acceptable when weak people are made out to be deserving of hate.
95% of fans' thoughts on Arvo boil down to "I felt bad for the kid until he shot Clem. Fuck him."
And? This doesn´t have to with wha… moret I was talking about. I just said that I never saw a Kenny fan justify the abuse of Arvo because 'they MIGHT POTENTIALLY hurt someone innocent'.
