If it were real life, people would already know about zombies and how to kill them, any form of media about zombies dont exist in things like the of the dead series or TWD. If it starts out with a "patient zero" like most do, it wouldn't really spread the country that quick and it would make it to the news, which then a lot of people wouldn't believe and people like myself would go to the biggest shopping centre near by. I'd say the military would do like you said, they'd have a few safe zones like they did in Left 4 Dead, World War Z and 28 Days later and Day of the Dead.
The initial outbreak would only be hard because of people panicking and looting, when everything calms down it would be much easier. My mall idea would be kind of hard if it was during the day seeing as how it's always absolutely full of people, guns are also hard to come by in the UK so that'd be a thing too although I do have a friend who has a few guns she could use. With that many people, if a zombie bites someone, they'll all scatter, and fight to get out first. So me and my friends will just have to wait in one of the sections until everyone either leaves or dies :P

I bet in real life many people will be at sites like shopping malls and etc that's if the military wont secure i… moret first then force everyone to fall in line for food, shelter, water, etc. That's when things can get hot and uprising can start.
I would hope to be with a small group someone ware away from too many other humans but land ripe for food like animals and plants and water, living in a high fortress type of shelter with alot of weapons.
The fallout apocalypse was one of my favorites. But when you hear ppl planning for the apocalypse or groups, and fractions etc, one should see if they will live long enough to reach that point after the start of chaos. I would also replace [zombies] with a more likely case of a virus since I myself see real zombies physically impossible to exist in reality. Even then not everybody is up to date on the mainstream culture of zombies. Plus a bullet in the head would halt more zombies from doing damage to humanity in general if everybody did know how to kill them.
If a apocalypse did happen depending on the cause of it my plan would vary.
Deadly virus or another natural disaster: Stay away from huge amount of human beings for a while, cutting myself off from civilization, excessive protective bio hazard gear, keep close with my family if I manage to still be with them, and avoid military or concentration camps

Without medical facilities and proper equipment, most pregnancies end in death. Ranging from infection, to blood loss, to plain illness. Babies are also much more likely to die because we will be immunized from a lot of illness's we can't give them shots for like we got. I don't want to risk getting pregnant, and I don't want to risk losing something I carried for nine months.
I'd be more worried about getting society up and going to worry about re population. If we create a stable environment that can be sustained for many years, like up to 10 - 20 + years, yeah, it would be safe for other people to have kids, but again, me personally, I would never have kids. Also throwing it out there, rape would more than likely happen, and if I got raped and ended up getting pregnant from it, I'd kill myself. I wouldn't give birth to a baby someone else forced on me, and I wouldn't give birth and leave the baby either, I'm not that mean. So my only alternative is just end it for myself, I can't handle that sort of thing.
