The fate of 400 days characters?
There were some nice characters in 400 days dlc and i'd prefer to see more from them in season 3, since their roles were pretty insignificant in season 2 (not including Bonnie of course).
However, after the walkers stormed through howe's, i dont think there will be much hope to see them anymore.
In this picture, you see all those blood stains on the roof, where they were shooting the walkers. Could that blood possibly be from the howe's crew, which got overrun by the walkers?

I figured that they probably all died and reanimated, and then left with the horde to follow various sounds off in the distance. I'm sure at least one survived though. The main thing that confuses me is the lack of corpses on the roof.
I think the 400 days cast escaped while the rest of the community died.
Only Tavia and a few guards we're there. The other 400 Days characters weren't there. They probably escaped.
IMO I think that some survived and others died. I don't think they're all dead, but then again, where would the survivors go? So, yeah maybe they are all dead.
As far as Season 3 goes, I think it's totally up in the air as to what might happen.
Well...could be walker blood. But I think that's kinda wishful thinking on my part.
They were surrounded by walkers. Nowhere to go.
I doubt that they are all dead because really according to the 400 days ending, only Bonnie went with Tavia for sure, meaning that the fates of many others like Vince, Wyatt, Shel, Becca, Russell, Eddie, Nate are all up in the air. This gives Telltale a LOT of room to put these guys back in the story in Season 3 because none of them are dead except for Bonnie (determinant).
Well I don't think they were all guards. Shel and Becca didn't look like it so maybe they escaped.
You seem to forget that they were surrounded by huge horde.
I doubt they got away, but I can hope.
Telltale sure put themselves in tough situations They should think through these things first. If its determinant character, its easier to just kill it, rather than making more complex and fascinating story.
Lol, I know right? I think Telltale knows that to which is why they make sure their determinant characters have little to no impact when you do save them. (See Nick). It makes sense that we won't be seeing Bonnie anytime soon either, or if we do come across Mike and Arvo again, they could just be like "We lost Bonnie to some walkers" or something like that.
My theory is that they are all alive! Why?
Because they could've escaped, so what if Walkers got to the roof? It's not impossible for Tavia and others to kill the Walkers and throw them down to distract the others. Besides, the 400 Days characters aren't on the roof, we aren't shown the rest of Howe's, they could've trapped themselves within the Hardware Store, or could've just escaped. We don't know what happened, so we can't be too sure. But the fact of the matter is that people just go missing and you never see them again or discover their fate... I feel as though we may never know what truly happened.
I think if there is another DLC it will follow the story of the 400 days characters a little bit more, but with Tavia instead of Bonnie.
Well so was Clementines group, maybe they figured out a plan. Or maybe they hid in the warehouse shelving (the thing Clementine was on when she got the radio) until the horde passed by.
Again, I think some of them could have locked themselves up somewhere, like Mark in the military base. That store is a huge place.
Maybe they escaped in the truck that brought Clem's group to the camp, Tavia said she needed to get the bay door fixed in the storage room, the place where Carver's dies and where the truck is parked.
Unknown
Yeah. 400 Days sequel with that garage area as a hub would be cool. Not a relaxing hub, temporary refuge while everyone needs to barricade, grab gasoline and supplies, fix the door etc. The more you grab the more you can give people when you escape, like the grabbing food from the Drug Store part with Kenny, only it comes in useful in the ep after they get out of Howes. Unless the entire ep is all the different characters reuniting to get out of Howes (Big camp, we could explore lots) with that truck as the goal
One thing to keep in mind about the horde attack is that they saw it coming well in advance. Many days in advance as far as I can tell. And if I remember correctly, they had also been attacked before. In fact, Clem's group probably had far less time to work out a good escape plan than most of the people in Howe's.
So they knew what was coming and they knew the place well. And some of the 400 Days characters could have been close given that they were together at the end of the one-off episode so I reckon it is entirely plausible that they escaped. They may well have done a better job of it than Clem's group.
They might bring people into season 3 who weren't the protagonist of the stories, like nate and eddie. We saw Roman too
Never a horde that big.
Sure, but they still had plenty of notice and still had some kind of prior knowledge of what goes down when a horde hits Howe's. Clem's group got out with barely a plan so it's not inconceivable that others did it better.
I'm still rather gutted that a storyline wasn't developed for Becca being the hateful antithesis of Clementine. I'd have much rather had a subplot of Becca bullying Sarah and Clementine.
As for the topic, who knows? It's very clear to me now that Bonnie was the true centrepiece of 400 Days all along. I predict that the fates of the others will be left in the air until Telltale decide to develop something for them in future episodes. Even if only Bonnie went with Tavia, they're still left to be alive in the WD canon.
It's funny that Bonnie turned out to be the only 400 Days character to play a big role in s2, because she was the least favorite for a lot of people.
I personally really liked Bonnie's story arc in 400 Days and especially in retrospect: when I play through Season 2 her character is so multi-faceted that my opinion of her often changes. She's warm but so terrible a people pleaser that it can be hard to dislike her. I felt her singular flaw was naiveté and gullibility; if you do not try to help Luke in Episode 5, she turns into an unreasonable, cold hearted bitch. Honestly, I hope she returns for Season 3 as a main character.
She was certainly my least favourite. But I grew to like her in season 2. I never fully trusted her but I liked her.
I think Bonnie's heart is in the right place but her downfall is that she can strike as quite manipulative in order to attain approval.
they ded
I think you're spot-on. And I don't think she even means to be manipulative - as you say, her heart is in the right place. She's afraid and her choices often seem motivated by fear. She's a nice person and warm but I don't think she's particularly strong.
One thing in the Walking Dead is that weaker characters can often be dangerous: Bonnie, Ben, Arvo etc. Fear leads to poor choices, lack of commitment to plans and so on. It's not that they're bad people, they're just scared.
I completely agree with your second point. It's also interesting that of those characters listed (and perhaps add Stephanie from 400 Days too) that their weaknesses also make it extremely hard to place trust in them.
Yep, which I guess is why the stronger characters like Carver and Roman and even Kenny and Lilly end up running things.
Well, I imagine at least some survived since there weren't many supplies left in Howe's when Jane and Clem come back. But yeah, I at least hope Tavia is dead.
