I like all the endings...

I played through the last scene several times to get all the endings. I have to say I liked all of them. Each sad in their own way and none of them happy in the zombie apocalypse way. I will be honest and say that on my first play through, I shoot Kenny after he killed Jane. But I don't know if that is the ending I will use if they connect the next game to Clementine. I think each ending is good in its own way, and I look forward to the next season of th WD game.

i love all the endings as well.

depending on how your previous decision looked like the final decision you are likely to make is the perfect conclusion for you character ark.

  • k, but the alone endings are the exact same way, the only difference is who you killed or left behind

Incorrect. There are a total of 7 endings. There are 3 alone endings.

Yeah, but some of the endings are the exact same. With Clementine smearing herself and AJ in Walker guts and then walking into the herd.

  • I also liked all endings. It gave us a variety to choose from and I think Clem´s personality is also affected by which one you get which is super cool.

  • Wasn't a fan personally. I think I might have been content if I had got the Kenny Wellington end first but I seriously didn't buy the end event and black or white choices required to get there and, as a result, ended up with the alone ending contemplating not Clem's fate but wondering what exactly happened in the writing. And Clem's alone ending is a total non-ending.

I played through to see the other endings but they couldn't have the same emotional weight given I was just playing the last bit to see those endings - that's not the fault of the game, it's just because I played it that way. The Jane ending felt like a bit of a non-ending too. Either Kenny one felt much more satisfying but severely tainted by the fact that this emotional dude looking out for me is a guy I just watched murder someone, which isn't exactly cool.

And then I came here and saw the KvJ apocalypse, vitriol and some of the most unintentionally hilarious comments I've seen in a long time and I went and prayed to Telltale never to make a divisive ending ever again. Simply put, the result was ugly.

So I'm a season 1 ending guy all the way. A single end point, details fluid but the main core beats all hitting the same. It guarantees Telltale can tailor a story with a satisfying ending that always works and it makes us all part of the shared experience. The ending of season 1 had so much impact and a huge part of that is how Telltale controlled it. A [leave Clem with Omid and Christa and go hang out in a bar] or [find miracle zombie bite cure] ending or whatever wouldn't have been as satisfying because a great story ending is not disposable.

I thought the two Kenny endings easily came across as the best of the five in a conclusive sense. Either way, Clem or Kenny give something up for the sake of the other with some clear hope for the future.

I ended up with Clem alone though, wandering the wasteland with an infant. I appreciate that you're not forced to go with anyone in the end, but it isn't particularly satisfying if you're looking for closure.

  • Played all the endings myself. I liked them all, but in different ways. They had me feeling something different every time with the alone ending it felt more symbolic if anything that Clem is ready to take on the cruel, dark, monstrous world on her own (not saying if she'll succeed though). The Kenny ending staying at Wellington made me cry like a bitch, but leaving with him felt like a happy ending with the two smiling and walking away as a family. The Jane ending made me feel like Clem could start a community and build something safe for herself, but with that part where Clem notices the gun and the kid's dialogue at the end made feel a little uneasy. Then Clem can turn the family away making it adequate for those who can't trust anybody anymore and just wanna stop with the drama bullshit. So yeah my hat's off to Telltale.

  • Never tried any other endings because i dont care about them.

  • I agree about the two Jane endings back at the hardware store. Either one had a very strange vibe to it, like 'I better watch my back now' feeling to it.

  • I tried my best to stay out of the KENNY VS JANE kiaju war going on here because I didn't want the ending ruined for me. (But being a Android user ruined that for me since I had to wait three weeks before i could play it.) To be honest, I'm surprised that big flame war even happened. People...it's just a game. Granted a very well written game, but still just a game.

I will agree with you that the two Wellington endings are about as close to a happy ending you can get to in the game. Either you are safe behind the walls or you are still with your friend as a family.

  • And that is something I like about Season 2. The choices they give you to either stay content with the ending your Clementine reaches or to try a little 'What Ifing' to see what would happen with different choices.

  • I got all of them too, I liked all of them except Howe's not letting the family in and saying you trust no one, that felt odd, not like my Clementine at all, but yeah I thought they were all pretty good, I liked staying at Wellington the most though, staying with Kenny was cute but... Eh I liked both Howe's/letting family in and Wellington more, it's a really good scene though but I thought that Clementine was being childish which is reasonable and makes sense (and honestly there probably needed to be more moments in season 2 that let you act that way), but I thought Kenny probably should have made her stay regardless of what she wanted, which would have been even sadder but you know, that's just like my opinion man.

  • That would have been great, Luke was far from perfect and evena coward at times but he's the one I trust more to not hurt Clementine, besides even if when he's mad at Clementine he doesn't act like an asshole, he just acts reasonably angry, unlike Kenny who acts like a complete asshole when he's angry.

  • I ended with Jane at Carver's old camp, what Carver says to Clem in his office in episode 3 stuck with me. Clem is going to be THE survivor of this apocalypse if I have my way. Carver was insane, but had valid points (don't judge, I watched him die). I just try to think about what the zombie apocalypse would be like for an 11 year old girl. I want her to be human, but she needs to be a total badass at the same time. I want her to be intimidating and endearing at the same time, but she's still a kid and she needs people to help her. Hope I get to lead my own camp at Howe's next season, that would be sweet. Clementine is the only character in a video game that I've ever been emotionally invested in. This game deserves all the awards it gets, and with all the different endings it will warrant multiple play throughs too. Telltale is quickly becoming one of my favorite companies, and has produced the only form of TWD that I enjoy, also the only one to bring tears to my eyes. Glad season 3 was announced, but in the meantime bring on season 2 of The Wolf Among Us, it's a nice change of tone from TWD and has me totally wanting more. Sorry to get off topic of the thread, it's my first post and I had a lot of praise to give.

  • I only thing I didn't like about the Jane endings were the feeling of having to watch my back now. Either ending makes me feel like the danger of this new family is going to hurt Clem in some way.

  • Yeah I was hesitant to let them join, but I also don't trust Jane. I just think it will make for an interesting third season.

  • Very true. I think the closest to a 'happy ending' are the ones at Wellington.
