For some strange reason, I think "I'll miss you" has more impact and conveys the same emotion as "I love you."
Also, I'm too lazy to go back and check, but don't Clementine's parents say they love her on their last message on the answering machine? It's not in person, admittedly, but they are telling her they love her.

Your absolutely right. However Clementine never heard the tape

Ah, good point. Dang... I always thought that was the most depressing part about dying suddenly; not being able to leave behind the words you wanted to. Even if people know, there still is no replacement for hearing it.

It just seems odd to me, you would think someone would say the words because their life is constantly at jeopardy, so people would say it out of the fear of not saying it when they die.

Clementine doesn't need something as petty as love any more, she needs stability. Food, water, shelter. Those things are what keep people al… moreive, not love. Y'know who wanted love? Luke. He's now a frozen corpse a good twenty feet underwater.
Clementine needs something she can strive for, something that will objectively keep her alive and well. Something concrete. Not tenuous like love.
Actions speak louder than words. But words can mean many things just as actions itself too. You maybe right about that. I wanted to say that to Clem too. But I REALLY I wanted to say; ''I'll always be with you. No matter how things getting darker at any moment, there will be light, sweetpea.'' I think devolopers going to add ''I love you.'' option at first, but they thought if they put that in the game, the other dialouge choices would be pointless. That bond that Lee and Clem shared just... so original. I mean, if some little girl I found 4 months ago, asking me to not leave her, I would feel so happy like you can't imagine. I mean... just look at them. If that isn't the love of the father and daughter then I don't know what it is.

Did I?
That is odd, i normally only hear those words after the money is exchanged.
......I........I...I love you george.....
I told people i loved them before pulling the trigger. Ahah Memories
This may be extremely corny but; food, water, and shelter means you survive, feeling loved means you're alive.
Well thats what you get for going into your liquor cabinet ay george lol, they were told... hehe
Very poetic, me likes
I wasn't drunk at that time, unless you count adrenaline.
And now I'm hungry.
