[Poll] Will you buy Season 3?

I've made a poll for everyone to find out whether everyone is excited or sceptical for Season 3 after finishing Season 2.

Feel free to explain your reasons below for what choice you chose and why.

  • I'll chose the second option although it did not fit perfectly. There were some problems in season 2, but they would not keep me from buying season 3. Let me put it as easy as it is: if season 3 goes on telling the story of Clem, I will buy it right away. If not, I won't buy it. For me it is just as easy as that :)

  • Hopefully it clears uo the obvioua problems Season 2 had (Boring Characters, Short Episodes, Little interactivity) and returns to the brilliant formula they had for Season 1.

  • I think I´ll probably buy it but if it´s a completely different cast I don´t think I will.

  • I am not sure yet it all depends on if I can play as Clementine again and not just her being in it

  • This.

  • Just returned from my daily task and it looks like there's slightly more than half looking forward to Season 3, while the runner up is hoping to see Season 3 fixing the problems that Season 2 had. Looking interesting so far.

Looking at the comments posted here, maybe I should have put in more diverse options, like say an option to see if players will only buy Season 3 if Clementine is in it. Oh well.

  • Why of course. :D

  • Definitely gonna get Season 3. Season 2 had its problems sure but its still a highly enjoyable game and is my favorite game of the year so far(Only PS3 gamer so I won't have the chance to put Mario Kart or other exclusives up there.) Looking extremely forward to Season 3.

  • So long as the story is good I'll get it, I don't care who the protagonist is.

  • I'll buy it cuz I'm a Walking Dead addict. :3

  • I'm totally buying it! Season One seamed better at creepy tension and the "illusion of control" but this is still, by far, the best game series out there.

  • "I'll buy it, but only if Season 3 promises to fix the problems that Season 2 had."

  • As long as I'm part of this community, I will buy their games. I enjoy the discussion around here.

  • Yeah, I do too... or better I DID. Now it's mostly Kenny vs. Jane. It has gotten less after a while, but there are still so many children fighting over those two.

  • I will absolutely buy Season 3. But I hope they think of something good about Jane and Kenny. Either they go the awesome way and let the one you went with alive and thus change the story a bit (at least of the first episode), or they go the boring way and have them die in the first few minutes. Let's hope the best :) .

  • I'll buy it... hopefully this happens...

  • I'm going to wait and see what the season is like this time. If I find that the story ends better with the season 2 endings then I'll quit there. If season 3 is good and takes the story to fantastic places then of course I'll buy it. I'm more excited for a second season of The Wolf Among Us though.

  • I'll buy the first episode and try it out to see if they've improved, but I won't shell out for the Season Pass like I did with Season 2.

  • i'm definitely buying the season 3 ! i'm way too much attached to the characters !!

  • I'll be getting it for sure, this game is too damn good! To the people that say season 2 had "problems and hope they fix the problems" how do you know that anything will be fixed unless you spoil the story for yourself? and the problems most people have are a matter of your perspective so good luck trying to be informed about the next season without screwing yourself over.

  • I'm buying it because I love the Walking Dead so much. Idc if its a different protagonist or what, I'm playing it. I just hope s3 ends up being more like s1.

  • I'm surprised so many people have issues with season two. I think it might be the best game ever made.

I'll admit I've become a bit of a fanboy about this game, but hey I guess something has to be good to make someone a fanboy

  • Thinking about it, David Hayter would be a great voice actor to add to season 3. He'd have to tone down the cheesiness substantially though

I'll buy it... hopefully this happens...

  • Fuck it, i'll buy it. Hopefully it will be better than S2, with more Nate Action.

  • True.

  • Well, I probably won't pre-order it again. I'll watch the first (maybe even the second) episode on Youtube and if it seems to be good, then I'll get the season pass.

  • Great points. I have virtually no negative points to say about season two, in fact the only points I can think of are just ways I'd like to see things done differently in future for the sake of keeping things fresh

Of course I'm buying season 3! Despite the issues with season 2, there has been more good than bad IMO. Story, characters, emotion, and surprises still make TWDG one of my favorite games. I do hope that the writers take into account what made season 2 both good and "not as good as season 1" when creating season 3 though.

  • season 3? Of orange is the new black? yes.

  • I'm definitely getting it, even if Clem isn't a main character. I'm here for the story, not just here for Clem, and Telltale is good at stories.

  • lol ok

  • I will buy it without question. TWD has been one of my most memorable gaming experiences on PS3. Usually,I can never play a "story game" more than once, but I've been able to play through TWD (S1 and 2) multiple times before getting my fill.

Yeowch, either the negatives for Season 3's arrival have voted altogether as of late or someone decided to make multiple accounts and choose the 'No' option.

I'll bet my pound that it's the latter.

  • I voted "No".

There are other games to play, and I'm just not interested in what TWD will do next anymore. I probably won't even look up spoilers or anything.

I was surprised to see that I was in the majority though. Yeowch.

  • Whoa, wtf? Now, I'm not exactly shy about my disdain for season 2, but I thought it was pretty well received. How is the most direct 'no' option in the lead?

  • You're all gonna buy season 3. It's like the people who swear they won't watch Star Wars 7. You'll be there opening weekend and you know it.

Honestly, with the handling of Kenny this season, and the general messiness of branching endings, I don't hold much hope for this upcoming season. Kenny was familiar territory to the writing staff. He already had a backstory, and the writers already had a basic outline of his personality. I don't think that the new characters suffered because of Kenny returning; I think the new characters suffered because Telltale was rushing things, and the expectations were massive following season one. Lets face it, the new ideas Telltale came up with had potential, but they never really developed completely. Without them bringing some sort of distraction for this, I think this season would have been an absolute train wreck. This is evidenced by the fact that they essentially recycled all of the basic Kenny elements, as pointed out in the OP of the "Kenny shouldn't have returned" thread. With the new season coming out in 2015, the Game of Thrones coming this year, the Tales of Borderlands being worked on, and The Wolf Among Us begging for a sequel, Telltale is going to have a massive task on their hands. Kenny's handling this season indicates a larger problem to me. I will have to withhold my judgement before continuing with this series. They are not going to get my money right away this time around. I love your games, Telltale, but you are walking a dangerous line here. Quality over quantity.
