Sure. So long as it's integrated like any other plot point. Walter's portrayal was excellent because it was done exactly how this kinda thing should be - exactly the same as it would have been treated if Matthew was a woman. No big deal made, they're just two men who happened to be in love. It's like any other relationship in the game. They don't draw attention to the fact any more than they would a straight one, and they never once gave me the impression that they were just trying to show how accepting they are with it.
I'm all for representation. I just don't like it when it feels like it's done for the sole purpose of representation.
Fucking hell...I'm not asking for the characters gayness to be the central storyline, having them running about like 'omfg I'm so gay'. I would want it to be a side thing as well, maybe just a reference to one guys boyfriend pre apocalypse. You're acting like I'm asking each episode to be gay zombie fucking.
I honestly don't understand why it is that people seem to think that every videogame/tv show/movie is required to have representation for every race, sexual preference/identity, (and most recently) mental illness/disability under the rainbow. Or else it's problematic or something, I don't know. Really though, it's Telltale's game and characters, and they decide what they want to do with those characters. We don't get a say in that, and personally I don't think we should. We aren't the ones working on the game.
What one are you talking about? Are you from Tumblr? They were simply stating that they disliked stereotypical gay men, no one was being insulted. He used a god-damn word. Get off your idiotic high horse for one god-damned second and sort out your ego.
You just insulted every stereotypical gay person. A "normal" gay person? Wow way to insult those gay men out there that are a little more sensitive, and different from what you perceive to be normal.

This mentality annoys me. Every story does not need to cater to every group of people. If someone writes a story that involves no hetero white males, but it is a good story, then I won't care. This reminds me of a news article I read on Google news a while back about some college deeming it unethical for Christian clubs to only be run by Christians. I'm not even Christian, but that's some bullshit.

If that's what the writers want, then that's what will be.
I personally do not agree with queers; nor their lifestyle,( and I am entitled to my beliefs), but if the writers have some in the game, then that's the way it is.
Well no not really. It'd just make it even more dramatic and more serious. a good way it could work out in season 3 is like you meet a trann… morey or a gay/lesbian at first and build a great relationship. He/she doesn't tell you about their sexuality until you guys meet a big group and later they ask him/her about it. they're honest and the group disagrees and bullies/hate him or her. You can have a choice to leave the group with him/her or leave with the group.
Or if you want it even more dramatic, kill a homophobe or let a homophobe kill him/her in like a jane kenny situation.
Just saying, it'd make it really good and interesting.
and no, this wouldn't have to be the main point of the story or whatever. I mean it could all happen in a episode or in 2 episodes while trying to make it somewhere or whatever. It could be a part of the story.
How does it make the story more interesting? Why does it matter if a character is transgender, Black, Latino, Asian, or has Autism? It seems to me that those traits are seen as "plus ones", or "extra points" to many people, as though them being gay, non-white or disabled, automatically makes them a better character/person. These things wouldn't be important in TWD, and I think it would be weird to add them in solely for the purpose of being those things, especially in a video game taking place in the apocalypse. That isn't the subject matter of the game, nor is making characters that are "relatable" the point either. It's how well the character's personality is written, their interactions with other characters, the main conflict, and the events and unpredictability of the story line that makes it interesting.
I wouldn't mind it hinted at or briefly touched upon. As long as they keep it suttle, like the other relationships in the game (Lee and Carley, Luke and Jane/Bonnie), and not have it be a main focu because none of this shit matters anymore in the apocolypse. As Chuck would say, there's no old, young, gay, straight, race, gender, or anything. Your alive.
I agree.
Nowadays, if a show doesn't have a homosexual person in it, these rights group's get a stick up their ass about it.
And why?
There's no reason for it.

It's beginning to annoy me too. I see people getting angry, and saying it's racist/homophobic/ableist if some show/movie/game doesn't have enough "representation". As though having this "representation" will make the show/movie/game better somehow. Nobody is obligated to "representation", if it bothers someone so much they should put the time and effort into making their own game.

Exactly. Next, WWII movies are going to have the SS and Wehrmacht be full of Africans and Asians. Vikings will have to be replaced with Indians, and Indians replaced with Mongolians.

I remember reading an article about how the people casting "The Hobbit" wouldn't cast a Samoan as a hobbit, and the public was in an uproar over that. Saying things like "you can have dragons, elves, and talking trees but having a Samoan hobbit is going too far? Racists!".-_- And it's just like..does it not cross their mind that the author of the books had a very distinct and clear image of what not only the hobbits, but every single character in his books looked like? That maybe the story takes place in a region where the race is predominately white, and having one random Samoan character as an extra would stick out in a bad way? That just because there aren't any non-white characters doesn't mean that the author, or those working on the movie are racist and close minded? It just gets on my nerves, how entitled people are nowadays.

I personally don't want him to be gay.
I just don't see that in Daryl.
There's been to many hints that he's straight.
For example, the way he and Carol were.
She made many passes at him.
And he was genuinely upset when Rick banished her, even though he knew she killed to members of the group.
And how about the time he and Beth were together?
There seemed to be something special growing between those two.
And she was the first person Daryl really opened up to, about how he felt, and what he was before the apocalypse.
Beth brought out a genuine goodness in him, and gave him a sense of hope, more so than Carol ever did.
And honestly, I find Beth to be more appealing than Carol.
She has a genuine innocence about her, which is actually quite refreshing.
Not to mention that she has such a hopeful spirit.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that Beth is damn cute.

If anyone is "butthurt and offended" here it's you. You don't seem to like that I disagree with your very Tumblr like opinion. You should probably look up the definition of Social Justice, because then you would know that what I'm asserting is the complete opposite of Social Justice. Or maybe you're calling me that in an attempt to come off sarcastic and/or clever. Either way, it doesn't matter. I didn't say anything about wanting every character to be white/basic, I just don't think the character's race/sexual preference/mental stability is a significant factor that must be addressed all the time, or else the game is boring. Or that there needs to be a certain amount of poc or else the game is boring. Chill, It's my opinion. No need to deflect your own problems on me.

I think political correctness is stupid.
Perhaps politicians need to use it, but why do we need to, as ordinary citizens?
I will not use it.
If someone is black, I'll describe them as black man/woman.
As opposed to African-American.
In fact, the word "Negro," ( which is Spanish for Black), use to be a very dignified term to describe a man of the black race.
Not to mention, it sounds more fancy, as opposed to saying black.
If someone is a Mexican, I will say Mexican.
As opposed to Spanish-American.
If someone is Homosexual, I'll say either homosexual or queer.
As opposed to LGBT.
I will not use the word gay, as in the dictionary, the word gay means happy and carefree.
And I don't know about you, but I've personally ran into many homosexuals that are rude, and very hostile.
Just like anyone else.
Despite their claims to be open and tolerant of others.
That's how I feel about it.
Political correctness is strictly for politicians.
I see political correctness as sugarcoating and censoring our thoughts as to not offend others who think differently. That in itself is just stupid, so I rarely, if ever, downplay my opinions. If somebody gets their feelings hurt over an opinion, then oh well.

Being a hard-of-hearing individual myself, I was wondering how a deaf character would be portrayed in the Walking Dead universe myself.
But I'll be shaking my head if the character ends up killed off because of their disability, being seen as a liability because of their disability, or if they were identified as the 'deaf guy/girl' and nothing else.
And as for deaf/hearing-impaired VA, the actress who appeared in CSI and Heroes (Deanne Bray) would be a good candidate.
No hunty, i'm just going with what I'm seeing and what i've seen. And no, not really. If you resort into that, then it's obviously you.
Anyways, you seem to be against telltale adding people with problems and different races into the game since it's irrelevant and you see no benefit from it. Or maybe you just take offense from it since that's all tumblr users are good at. getting offended over nothing. Everybody besides Nick, sarah, rebecca and clem were boring and basic as fuck. If you actually look at those characters, they're unique and they're different from the others. Nick is depressed and obviously broken, Sarah obviously deals with anxiety and I think is possibly autistic with many more things. Rebecca is colored and pregnant. And Clem, well she's her. These people are the main reason I play TWD, why i care for TWD, and why I hate Amid The Ruins. If you think i'm pulling this out of my ass and think i'm lying about my love for these characters, you might want to read back and ask members of this forum.
You want people who are basic, mentally stable, and not of color to be in twd only because it's the "z.a" and it isn't "necessary". Whatever you say is wrong anyways. Season 1 and 2 proved you wrong.

why do you keep calling me hunty? It's kinda funny, you don't seem to remember that you once defended Tumbr and it's users on a different thread against me. Selective memory, or are you just being contradicting and hypocritical? So you only play a game, or like a character, if they are a different race and/or have emotional issues? And that all other characters are supposedly boring and bland if they don't possess these certain traits. You are only proving my point here.
I didn't say anything about only wanting characters that are white, mentally stable, or basic. Nor did I say that I don't enjoy the characters that are non white/unstable/gay. You are putting words in my mouth. All I'm saying is that I don't think there is a minimum requirement to how many poc/gay/unstable characters a game has to have, or else it's boring and problematic. I don't think we should get a say in it either, because we aren't the ones working/creating the game. Honestly, just calm down.

I agree that political correctness can get out of hand on occasions, but at the same time, I really don't see the harm in addressing people by the way they want to be addressed. Sure the term African American can seem out of place, (since a White person could immigrate to the US from Africa and thus be considered an African American) but that doesn't mean that some Black people don't want to be addressed as such. I mean, I don't call Asian people oriental or yellow regardless of where they're from, or if other ethnicities are born there, because some Asians consider those terms to be disrespectful and in the end, I just want to be polite regardless if it's politically correct or not.

Sure why not have a character or two in the group or something.I'm bi so I probably won't be offended unless they do bi stereotypes.
Why?
I want to meet a blind or deaf person. That'd be pretty cool. It might be hard to find a VA to play as a deaf person though.

how many intact couples did you see in the walking dead?
this is not like ethnicity in america.
"acting" transgender people are so rare, that you can barely add one to your story without her/him looking token.

If you get easily offended DO NOT READ THIS I REPEAT DO NOT READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this is going to sound bad but whatever.. Telltale please don't do this... I don't want to see a faggot in The Walking Dead Game.
why do you keep calling me hunty?
