Which characters do you hate the most?

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

There are a bunch of likable characters in Season 1 and Season 2. However, there are a handful of characters who just get on your nerves, as well.

Here's what I think, (in order, from "oh god I think I'm gonna puke" to "gosh dang this character")

Season 1

  1. Larry I just can't stand this guy. His voice is obnoxious and he is constantly angry for no reason. He's just a scary, and ugly, dude.
  2. Lily This one's pretty self-explanatory. Her voice stresses me out and she's constantly angry, even before her dad died. She also shot Carley (or Doug); and that is when my ship sank. I didn't have the heart to leave her on the side of the road, though. After she said she was trying to protect the group, for one moment, for just one moment, I felt bad for her. Until five minutes later when I realized that she stole the RV and, did, in fact, shoot an unarmed woman in the head.
  3. Mark I don't really hate him. I just don't like him. I don't know why, for the most part. But, I do think he complained a little too much for my liking. Yes, I understand that his situation sucks, but the entire group's situation sucks, too. He should've been a bit less whiney. However, he still didn't deserve to get his legs chopped off. Poor dude. I kinda liked him a little tiny bit.

Season 2

  1. Carver Somebody needs to be fixed.
  2. Troy God, what an idiot. He thinks he's so tough just because he has a gun. The gun's tough, not him. He's such a numbskull.
  3. Rebecca (temporary) In the beginning, she is so mean to Clem. I know she's pregnant and going through a lot, but still. Later, though she makes up for it.

There are many more in both S1 and S2 I could mention, but I'd love to see what everyone else thinks!

  • "Poor dude. I kinda liked him a little tiny bit." Yet, you place him on your list of characters you hate the most? Sounds like you somewhat contradicted yourself there.

    Anyway, here's mine:

    Season One

    1. Larry - Exact same reason you do.
    2. Lilly - Again, we're in agreement.
    3. The Stranger - For very, very obvious reasons.
    4. Vernon - "You're a good man Lee..." At one point I thought him an alright bloke when he said that. But when I finally learnt of his true colours he became the biggest scumbag of the first season.

    Season Two

    1. Troy - I hate this guy. Hate him, hate him, hate him. While I don't have much to say about the other Season Two characters (especially since I saw Carver as one of the more "Compellingly fucked up brilliant" characters more than a one I disliked) I will say this, Troy is the most disgusting, dislikeable character of the entire TWD franchise in my opinion. Bar none. I preferred him when his mouth was shut in A House Divided. His ONLY redeeming factor was the fact he saved Clem and even that doesn't mean much for him. And the worst part is? It should! He saved Clementine! But it doesn't work! I still hate the guy. He acted too tough for his own good on more than 3 occasions and whenever something cool was happening via my actions or dialogue choices it always felt like that prick was the one who ruins it. Sorry if this sounded like a vent, but I really, really hate Troy. And the fact he's voiced by Owen Thomas, who voices one of my favourite TWD characters Omid is even saddening somewhat. That's nitpicking though. Owen did a great job. I prefer it when he plays funny likeable characters though.

Troy is the only Season Two character I actually loathe. There's characters who are "Meh" to me in Season Two (Jane and Carlos mainly) but I don't have any characters. But even with just Troy the competition of worst character is still strong with Troy alone.

  • Oh, hey! A fellow Whovian!

Anyway, I only 60% hate Mark, but other than that, he's a good guy. I just don't like him, you know? It's confusing.

Also, that's totally okay. Venting is 100% welcome here. God, Troy is so annoying.

Now that I think about it, too; Carver, even though I hate him, is kind of interesting. He's smart and he's tough, but deep down, he's definitely a coward. When he feels threatened he just beats the crap out of anyone he sees to save his ass because he's scared.

    I hate Cluke the most!

  • Michelle. I don't care about Season 1 since I liked or respected all of the main characters.

  • That ship is a little... you know... strange. I agree.

In case you didn't know, it's the ship name for Clem and Luke.
And Clem is 11 years old. So. Um.

I hate Carver to no end. He broke Carlos's fingers, killed Walter, (who was the nicest guy ever) slaps Clem, ( which made the biggest asshole of them all) made Carlos slap Sarah, beat or kill Alvin, (if you save him in episode 2) kills Reggie, (who was also nice) beats Kenny, ( which even made him more of an asshole) and he thought he couldn't be touched. I would have brutally killed him myself if I got the chance.

  • Season 1:

Duck, Mark, Stranger, Vernon, and St. Johns.

  • I didn't actually start hating characters until Season 2. I guess Telltale just made their characters more annoying. I started out hating Rebecca because of her bitchy attitude, but that cleared up when she became nicer over the episodes so I ended up not hating her anymore.I didn't hate Sarah at first, but she became worse and worse each episode and I hated her by Episode 3. That's about all I can think of.

  • I really don't like Nick.. I know most of you love him, but I never liked him.

    • Sided with getting rid of Clem.
    • Pressured to lock her in the shed.
    • Shot and killed Matthew for no reason.

Yes I know he apologized and I accepted that just for the sake of doing so. About Matt, whether or not he was trying to protect his friends because he thought they were in danger, it cost the life of a man who just wanted to help. He raised the gun 1st. I just really can't forgive him for that. I'm not gonna bash him xD I just wasn't too fond of him. Hopefully you respect that.

  • Explain please?

What? How is Walter one of the people you hate the most? He was always really nice to everyone and forgives Nick for killing his partner. The only thing he can do wrong is not saving Nick, but would you save him after being told he's just an asshole who shot your best friend for no reason?

  • Season 1:

Kenny: Delusional, irrational and absolutely intolerable.

Carley: Well, I didnt really like her, I only hate her out of spite for the fanboys

The St. Johns: Torturing Mark? Yeah, I dont like you

Vernon: Although the theft of the boat was kind of glazed over by the fact that I had bigger concerns, it was still the biggest scumbag move in the series until that point. What a piece of shit.

    Stranger: Put me through hell.

    Season 2:

    Kenny: Same ol' Kenny.

Carver: Murdered Walt, imprisoned Clem and the group, hes a real crazy bastard.

Bonnie: The girl who always is looking for the easy way out. Attacks the group at the cabin, condescendingly tries to befriend Clem, goes with the group only after she thinks Carver is becoming too much of a danger to even her. She was just about useless in Ep.4 and in Ep.5, despite her attempting to help Luke, shes too much of a moron to make decisions and should just listen to people..

Arvo: Dont understand why you wouldnt hate someone who you let be on their way and then tries to rob you at gun point. "duuuuuh, well he didnt have a gun." Well no, he deliberately approached you so you would let your guard down so you could be robbed. Seemed incredibly obvious.

  • No need to hate anyone. Me... I dislike Christa.

  • When Clem was surrounded by walkers after Kenny complained about his work partner and fought Mike.

when did troy save clem? he bashed a gun in her face and acted like a complete perv twoards her in the beginning of episode 3

  • Why do people always think "11 year old Clem" when they think of Cluke? Many of us ship them as adults, or with age gap narrowed. Really, many of us aren't like miss You-Know-Who Porter.

I didn't care for Nick either. He gets really uppity anytime anyone points out his mistakes. I told him he was out of line in Ep1 and he's just like "whatever." Someone who "just goes off" and "goes agro" probably shouldn't be handling a damn gun. Case in point, Matthew. I just stayed silent when Walter asks if Nick was a good guy or not and even though I told Nick to come clean a minute ago he tells Walter he didn't do anything. So I can't say I felt all that bad when Walter let him get eaten. Maybe if he were a little more willing to fess up to his mistakes in less than ideal situations he'd still be alive... Well actually he'd probably just die off-screen in episode four, but still.

  • I hated... Nick. Nick is the only character I hate.

  • Season 1
Mark- I thought Mark was just a whiney bitch all the time and offered like nothing to the group.
Lily- She was annoying as hell but the reason I hate her is because of what she did to Carley/Doug. No regrets leaving her behind.
Vernon- Traitorous cockroach. And I was half considering leaving Clem with this man.
    Season 2
Michelle- Do I really need to explain? Fuck her!
Rebecca- More annoying than Lilly and a total bitch the first time you meet her.
Bonnie- Another traitor and a bossy one at that.
Troy- Perverted and stupid. Glad he's dead.
Mike- Same as Vernon. Trusted this guy and used to like him up till his final moments.
Arvo- I think if we see him again, I can possibly forgive him and he could redeem himself but as of right now Arvo is the WORST to me.

  • Don't get me started on Arvo. He WAS a bad guy, strictly because my Clem didn't rob him and yet he still allowed his crew to attempt to rob her group. He even said that Clem robbed him earlier, when it was Jane and she only took his weapon (I mean he was acting sketchy, even I didn't totally buy his story). My Clem was sympathetic towards him when he mentioned his sick sister and let him leave with his supplies and how does he repay her and her group? By almost killing them all!

I didn't approve of Kenny being an eternal jerk to him and always told him to stop, but Arvo was definitely not a good guy. He could have walked away with his crew and then no one would have had to have died.

  • If it makes you feel better, I was part of the minority and saved Doug. I honestly thought that Doug was so much better than Carley. I liked Carley, but she was kinda dumb. Yeah, she was a crack shot, but she couldn't even put batteries in the right way. Doug had some technological skills and was able to improvise on creating security measures at the motel, plus he stayed neutral during the arguments and he was generally a kind hearted man. Rest in peace Doug :(

    Season 1:

Lilly: She's an obvious candidate for my hate list. She treated my Lee like shit, was a general bitch to everyone, killed Doug, reveals your past to everyone, even if you're friends with her, and if you let her back in the RV, the bitch steals it. I think that if you left her behind, her comeuppance should have been getting devoured by walkers.

Larry: Larry...don't even get me started on Larry. He's just an old racist piece of shit who deserved to die for the way he treated everyone. Especially Lee. Lee didn't deserve the abuse he got from Larry. I'm glad I let Kenny smash his head with the saltlick.

Stranger: That guy is a scumbag! He's an obvious pedophile too. Here's what made it obvious for me. He was obsessed with having Clem with him, goes to great lengths to keep her locked away when he does have her, and he even says to Lee "I'll be with her while you rot in the street." That's definitely something a pedophile would say. Another reason why I hate the Stranger is cause he got Lee killed. If that piece of shit didn't kidnap Clem, Lee wouldn't have gone outside to look for her, he wouldn't have picked up that radio which led him to getting bit. Fuck you Stranger!

    400 Days:

Dee: I could not stand Dee. She was nothing but an old sea hag who treated Bonnie like complete shit. I myself have no problem with Bonnie since she drowned in my game. Dee tried to leave Bonnie for dead, called her names like bitch and junkie, and even tries to kill Bonnie. Dee is bad news. Then again, some people probably like Dee now that they hate Bonnie.

    Season 2:

Michelle: That stupid fucking bitch held Clem hostage and killed Omid.

Rebecca (Only in All That Remains): I wasn't nuts on Rebecca the first time I played. Like everyone, I thought Rebecca was a bitch. I didn't care that she was pregnant. I blackmailed her sorry ass and I didn't regret it. She did redeem herself in A House Divided when she became a lot nicer to Clem.

Bonnie (Only in A House Divided): When I first saw Bonnie at that lodge, I was ecstatic to see her again. I hadn't seen her since 400 Days, and I honestly thought that she was going to be on our side (which she is later on in the season). When she returned to the lodge, revealed to be one of Carver's henchmen, I fucking despised her. During the wait between A House Divided and In Harm's Way, I'd purposely play Russell's story in 400 Days, just so I wouldn't kill the walker by the diner, so that Bonnie could nearly get killed by the walker. Hell, I even purposely got Bonnie killed in that game.

Carver: Even though I hate him for being completely insane, I also had sort of a liking to him. Carver is one of those characters that I liked, but I hated at the same time.

Troy: Fuck Troy! That guy was a douche with a capital BAG. The way he treated Clem was sickening. I wanted to strangle that asshole for the amount of times he hit Clem, called her names, and generally treated her like shit. I also wanted to punch him for smirking when Carver hit Clem in the beginning of the episode. Also, his "everything come out all right girls?" question was very unnecessary. It ain't his business. It's Sarah's business and her business only.

    Arvo: You all know why.

tl;dr version: Season 1: Lilly, Larry, and Stranger. 400 Days: Dee. Season 2: Michelle, Rebecca (only in 201), Bonnie (only in 202), Carver, Troy, Arvo.

    Season 1:

Larry - almost killed Lee , was an asshole

    Lilly - killed Carley.

    St. John's - cannibals , killed Mark.

    Vernon - stole the BOAT.

    Stranger - caused Lee's death.

    Season 2

    Michelle - killed omid.

Carver - injured Kenny , Killed Walter , Alvin and Reggie.

    Troy - hurt Clem.

Jane - did the thing with the baby.

Arvo - I hate him the most of all for obvious reason.

  • Season 1

    • The Stranger - 2 reasons, he indirectly killed Lee by kidnapping Clementine and he shattered mine and Clem's relationship in Ep4
    • Vernon - Arriving a Crawford I was beginning to like the guy, escaping it I felt the same. Then... when he asked to take Clem, that's when the dislike came in. Then when he took the boat... you can guess...
    • Can't think of another so I'll save it for S2

    Season 2

    • Arvo - Didn't like him from the off, stole his supplies, he came back for more trouble, we killed his group, I could have happily ended him there and then, but Mike loved him too much. When he shot Clem, I wasn't even surprised. Caused the death of Luke.
    • Bonnie - I initially trusted her, she betrayed me, I disliked her in Ep3. Respect started to grow in Ep4. Then Ep5... she betrayed me, the cycle won't repeat next time.
    • Mike - Biggest s***-face of them all. Why? Because I actually liked and trusted Mike. I got suspicious when he got protective over Arvo, wasn't show whether it was inverted Stockholm Syndrome or something. The final knife in the back wasn't when he helped Arvo escape, not even when he wanted to run off with all the supplies. No, the biggest betrayal was that when Clem got shot, he didn't even give a toss.
    • S2 Bonus: Carver - Pete and Luke were the only cabin group members he didn't cause the deaths of directly or indirectly. Caused the deaths of, Walt, Alvin, Reggie (Directly), Carlos, Nick, Sarah, Rebecca (Indirectly). Worst of all he slapped Clem so f*** him.
  • no, he lost his sister and had nothing left, he wasn't a bad guy.... he just blamed clem for his sisters death, and he was sick of being treated like a slave

  • Those traits didn't get him killed.

well i just dont like how hes so optimistic and generous and not serious. those are traits that get you killed in the ZA

  • What? If he didn't save her there she would be dead. No question.
