Do they actually say he is a veteran? I don't remember that. I didn't like him because of how quickly he turns Duck. Without even trying to figure out if Duck was actually bitten, Larry is ready to just toss him out.
And also, even if you're a complete asshole to him and don't feed him he later says "I... I'm just being cranky because I'm hungry." as long as you tell Mark he's just looking out for Lilly.
With right dialogue choices Larry says that he's fucking sorry when he learns that Duck has no scratches. So, he was afraid for the safety o… moref his group and made a bad choice in the heat of the moment. Then he was talked some sense and he apologized.
In my books that doesn't make him a bad person. Maybe he is bit rude and doesn't always think things through before wanting to act, but inside he is a good person. He even saves Lee's life in Episode 2, despite the fact that he doesn't trust to Lee and thinks that Lee is a threat to the group.
I don't care why he's a grumpy blowhard. He's a grumpy blowhard. I hate him because he was a loud mouth asshole from the start even before he tried to get Lee killed.

"All that is known about Larry is that he was a retired army commander that had a history of heart problems. Larry married a woman and together they had a daughter, Lilly, who is also a survivor of the apocalypse. According to Lilly, Larry went through a great deal of suffering and loss during his life, including coping with the loss of his wife, keeping his wedding band in his pocket at all times to remember his late wife.
His losses hardened him and caused him to become immensely harsh and judgmental towards life and anyone whom he thinks might threaten Lilly and his own welfare as he only has her to protect and live for."

Oh! I thought they would both miss. Mark tries thats the importantt hing. I never know with Larry I never trust him with the axe lol. Dale? Whose that?
Isn't Dale the guy you could choose besides Carley at the pharmacy? I honestly cant remember now lol. And I think your right that Larry just watches while Mark on the other hand swings and misses but Larry waits until you get off the truck then takes out the zombie but I could be wrong, it has been awhile since I last played this episode.

Yeah? Well from what I can clearly see that's an opinion from just some talking murderous lagomorph! Bunnies can't even type, obviously you are evil and immoral!
I doubt he really meant that "Sorry" he determinantly throws out. And in my books his actions during that scene make him a scumbag. He outright tells Duck that Duck is going to turn into a zombie and eat his own mother right after Larry is finished breaking his father's nose. Does THAT sound like a guy who's concerned for the group's safety? Because that sounds like a guy who's an asshole to me.

Well, Larry saw Lee as a threat. He knew him for being a murderer, when deep down, he was a good guy to the core. Larry didn't know that, and it didn't seem like he wanted to. Either way, they both had a reason to dislike each other. And since we (Lee) are disliked, we fight back.
I actually like the old guy because of his lack of people skills. He usually says what he thinks in a honest but very rude way.
At that point Larry doesn't consider that Duck and other newcomers are part of his group, so he is suspicious towards them and thought that they might be a threat. He does show concern about the safety of his own group. However eventually Larry even shows some respect towards Lee, even if he still doesn't like him.

Does it really matter if they were part of his group or not? He had every right to suspect Duck of being bitten given that he was covered in a bunch of nasty crud, but when he just defaulted to "Let's throw this kid out" without bothering to confirm the bite, my opinion on him took a nosedive that it would never pull up from. And the extent to which he tormented Duck as well as his parents during that entire scene really turned me against him. There's a difference between being concerned for your group and being sadistic.

We have already repeated every argument there is, so let's just agree to disagree. Larry has always been a controversial character, but in my books he is one of the good guys. He isn't flawless and he said some nasty things, but compared to the stuff which other group members and Lee actually did during the game, he isn't that bad.
Although, I can't help but wonder if you hate the Cabin crew as much as you hate Larry, because of what they did to Clem.

He tries to kill lee.If clem would try(yes it 's a weird ex.) i will hate her.And he is a dick .I don't care if he is a veteran ,us air force etc.And did i mention that he is a dick?Except ben i hate him soooo much
But still... in episode 1..... he was trying to kill duck because he thought that he was bit... when he wasn't, Larry wanted to kill Duck without checking him first if he had any bites or not ........and in episode 2 when Lee brought Ben and that school teacher to the motor inn .... he was like yelling at Lee and Kenny, saying like why did you bring more people, you should have left them to dye... Even Lilly was saying that...... and even when he pushed Lee to the floor almost getting him killed.... that made Clementine worried and scared, you don't knock someone out saying that they arnt coming with you, you don't do that in front of a child. I do understand that Larry has got a few good things about him... but... I still hate Larry. he would always blame Lee and Kenny for stuff. and he would always wine about things like.. if you give the axe to Mark, Larry get angry... BIG DEAL... its an axe...

At first I did hate them, with the exception of Pete who stood up for Clem when no one else would. As a consequence, he was my favorite Season 2 character. Though I think that the Cabin Crew's reaction to Clem, while still wrong and stupid, was more justified than Larry's reaction to Duck. They inspected the wound first, then they all came to a consensus and even afterward Luke and Pete argue to let Clem out of the shed during their House Meeting. And as peeved as I was at Carlos, Nick, and Rebecca for that, They went on to prove that they were decent people. I don't feel that Larry ever did.
In my defence I'm bad with names in real life as well and I did get the first letter right lol and honestly who would you rather have in an apocalypse, a lady who can shoot really well or a dude who can use TV remotes?

Yeah, sorry. Bad day.
Fair enough. :P I don't hate him, but I'm definitely not a fan either, lol. He reminds me of someone I know.
I posted a video I made and went offline. I don't religiously monitor every comment chain.
its fine . And i understand why you got mad. If i was called a Kenny extremist just because of my profile pic, i would be pretty pissed too.
listen man, I'm really sorry i was rude, i just thought it was a little weird thats all, can you forgive me?
Sure. It's okay.
thanks . but Shrek is not retarded *sobs in corner
Lilly tells you in the drug store if you're good with her if I remember correctly. Either then or at the St. Johns farm
Ah, wiki says this.

I can confirm most of that.
This game needed a grumpy old guy pissing off the player from the very beginning. I don't see the problem.
You're attempting to justify it. Something that is unacceptable can't be justified.
He's an asshole.
I normally do that too but doesn't Mark miss with the axe causing Carley to come to the rescue? I can't remember if Dale does the same thing though.
Oh! I thought they would both miss. Mark tries thats the importantt hing. I never know with Larry I never trust him with the axe lol. Dale? Whose that?

Oh! You mean Doug lol. I recently did a playthrough saving him and yes he comes up and saves you after Mark misses.

Carley will always save you if she is alive. In order for Mark or Larry to save you, you need to save Doug in Episode 1.
He apologizes to you if you try to kick duck out.
The guy was a "piece of shit", as Lee says. Never gave Lee a chance and he treated him like dirt.
Ah I see, I only picked Doug a few times so I can understand me not seeing Mark save me. Lee+Carley 5 eva.

I understand him but i don't think his actions have a justification, still i don't hate him i actually like him to certain degree

Why don't you step out of the shadows mr. generic sideways picture and say that to my face!

The fact I find him hilarious might make me a little biased.

But all well, doesn't matter anymore I guess. lol
I dislike him because I will never be as charming as him...
DALE! Its funny when characters are forgotten about. I bet more people know who "Gary" is, before they remember anything about old Doug.
You do realize Lee is a convicted Murderer right? People in the armed forces would see him as a threat.
