I mean Edith, There's probably a lot of people in Wellington so could she seriously know every name? I guess we'll have to see what happened to Christa in Season 3 but I'm just saying that you never know...

Maybe she doesn't, but you'd probably know if you'd heard a certain name before. :P Plus, in an unused audio file that you can find on the wikia, she says that she'd definitely remember the name Christa because she "has a niece named Christa". Seriously. There's a link on her wikia page.

Actually a community of 100 to even 1,000 people or so isn't that large. If you've been living and working with the same people every day for years, then I think it is possible to learn everyone's name. Especially in a community post-ZA where there's probably a lot more one-on-one interactions going on than today. Back in the day say 50 to 100 years ago or so, a little town or village was usually very close-knit because everyone saw each other every day, and everyone knew each other. If you've been to a school with a fairly big class, think about how you've learned the names of your classmates over the years and have gotten to know them. Even years later I remember up to dozens of my classmates' names because we used to see each other every day. Though role call every day probably helped too lol.

It depends how long they have been rejecting new members honestly. If it was only a few days ago she may not have meet all the new people. If they haven't accepted any new member in six months then their is a good chance that she knows everyone there.

Here is a question for you. How do you know the place they showed up at was Wellington.
The only thing Edith says is "That is what a lot of folks, call it." Which could mean that its actually somewhere else, but people refer to it with the wrong name.
