Clem asked for it by disobeying orders and trying to stop Carver from teaching Kenny a lesson! Troy did the right thing by hitting her - what if she got to Carver and got beaten up even worse?!
But Lee was awesome. Troy was a stupid, abusive, dickless (at least now. Ha) freak. Lee was her savior, Troy was just another obstacle for her journey.
The only person I've seen mention anything about this is the OP, and that was in passing.
Troy raped Jane.
It was much more blatantly suggested in some dialogue that didn't make the final version, but all the subtext was still there. I picked up on it in my first playthrough, before I had confirmed my suspicions with unused files. I was leaning into some implications that that is what had happened, and then the instant Jane had the opportunity she shot him right in the dick without hesitation. That was the clincher. It wasn't barbaric sadism on Jane's part. It was a statement.

I didn't hate Troy, people aren't perfect. I feel he was redeemable especially after saving Clementine's life. I wouldn't of shot him , and when Jane did it turned me instantly against her, pretty much for the rest of the game.
Oh, she is! She's just been busy with her job, lately, so it's been tougher for her to pump out updates.
I was writing a pretty popular s… moretory about Nick, Sarah, and Sarita for a while there, but I kind of abandoned it due to having literally no idea where it was going. I might pick it back up, but it's dubious. Right now I'm considering writing something now where the group takes down Carver from the inside rather than escape, as a way to expand on dead characters as well as the neglected 400 Days cast.
Yea. Thats why I don't get why people say Jane is bad for doing that. His behaviour suggested he would do something like that. The way he was excited at the prospect of smacking Sarah around made it clear to me that he's not a good person.

Because they're mostly guys, and they're blinded by sympathetic pain over his injury rather than what Troy was actually guilty of. I've already pointed out that Jane was also being quite pragmatic in ensuring that Troy's screaming would provide convenient bait for the zombies.

Sorry to interrupt but this fanfiction sounds really interesting.
Out of curiosity, are Clementine's group members still assholes or did your friend re-write their characters off screen?
That'd be really cool if she did.
But Lee was awesome. Troy was a stupid, abusive, dickless (at least now. Ha) freak. Lee was her savior, Troy was just another obstacle for her journey.
The same reason why I don't like Larry: bad and stupid. Larry tries to throw a little boy out into the walker herd without be sure about whether he is bitten, while Troy treats Clem like trashes. And both of their brains stop to work once a lady is before them.
First episode. When they left Clem out in the shed, despite her being a little girl needing medical attention. That scene rang so many alarm bells for me, it wasn't even funny. That's just one example but it's the biggest one I can think of.
I only ask because if the group reappears in the story and haven't been re-written, I won't be able to sympathize with them, and I really want to give your friend's story a chance.
Troy was doing what he had to. In Carver's camp you follow the rules or you pay the price. The only problem is you don't have choice to be part of his group. He made me laugh a few times so he was not to bad.
Yeah, I hated Carlos for suggesting Clem be locked up and then having the audacity to chastise her for SAVING HER OWN LIFE. Funny how people overlook that in favor of hating Rebecca (reasonable) or Sarah (not at all reasonable for any reason).

Most fans do anyway, probably because they take his overprotective-dad act as face value. I personally liked how his mistreatment of Clem showed the downsides of being such a selfish person, but I don't think anybody else saw it that way.
Fuck yeah man, that was some fucked up shit. And like, the next day he acts like it never happened.
Telltale doesn't even let you tell him to fuck off.
How am I supposed to sympathize for this man?
I dunno, I like Troy. I feel like he should've been given more as a character rather than being written as a 2D mook.
By the way, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest he raped anyone. That's a very serious thing, and no one should take it lightly, even in a fictional context.
WHAT?! Who's being flippant about the subject of sexual assault?
If you are right about it being a grievously serious matter, which you are, then the accusation you have levelled that people (and I can't help but feel that was targeted at me since I brought the subject up.) are taking the entire concept of rape lightly is equally not to be taken lightly. I've got half a mind to go all research paper on your ass.
That was a damned cruel thing to imply, and you haven't heard the last of it.from me. I'll be posting the thing here too, but you can expect the longest private message in history in a week or three. I'm talking CHAPTERS, son. Not to prove you wrong, you think whatever you want. But I'll be damned if you get to say I base my assertion on nothing, and then go on to use that as a jumping off point to accuse of me of being all Pollyanna about the entire gruesome concept in general.
I take it lightly when that happens to people? How dare you? Fuck you, asshole!

This. I'm tired of all these people calling Troy a Rapist when he didn't rape anyone. People called Nate a rapist too because he talked about a chicks rack.

See: all of CrazyGeorge's comments. Apparently its an assumption that Troy wronged Jane in some way and its easier to assume that Jane just shot him in the balls because she thought it was funny or something than to believe someone like Troy is actually a bad person when every single time he's on screen he's proving he's a bad person lol.

He's got a great hairstyle, a badass attitude with no patience for mushy shit or mouthy kids, and he even saved Clem from a zombie!
… moreSo why do people hate this guy? I really don't get
This is going to sound weird however he was one of my favorite characters this season. I was soooooooo disappointed when Jane just killed him without giving the player any sort of interaction or choice in the matter. I think most people see Troy as a evil guy because he hit Clementine a few times. That doesn't make you a bad guy. Jane fans have believe he is a bad guyto because if they don't consider Troy a bad guy then her lies will fall apart.
(Which lies am i referring to, the I've never hurt anyone that hasn't wronged me speech." )
I never really thought he was that bad of a guy. Does the wood chopper in TWAU deserve death for beating up on Faith, i felt Troy was redeemable. He just needed some Anger Management Classes, with DR Phil and he would of been right as Rain.
Eh, CG also likes guys like Carver and Nate (who ends up murdering an old couple in cold blood.) I'm not singling him out, though, because there are plenty of other guys here who like those characters as well. It's why I made this thread.

Not that I disagree with you. Troy, like a lot of lousy young men, is the type to abuse their power and take advantage of women under their control. Carver did it with his 'affair' with Rebecca, and I'm sure Troy would have taken advantage of girls like Sarah if the opportunity presented itself.
I don't actually know if he had sex with Jane, but it seemed to me that she was manipulating him with the promise of sex in order to fulfill the goal of escape. That falls into the male fear of "evil seductress", but since it's a child-beating, ungrateful, dim-witted jackass like Troy I'm rather unsympathetic.

I hope we can blow up is zombie obstacle head in season 3.
You're mad at Jane for killing an abusive punk?
Don't worry, it is.
The guy admitted this thread is satirical.

It's a trap.
He's luring you peeps in to admit your love for a sociopathic loser.
It's pretty genius, actually.

Because hitting kids is badass and no big deal!
Almost everybody ate the bait for the first day or two. Mission accomplished.
Not entirely sure what you mean by that, because I don't consider the cabin group to be assholes.
It was a joke, friend. :>
I hated him because he was attached to Carver like a good puppy would.

Good job, Bokor.
Everyone is proud of you.

I thought Clem's face was messed up... but then I saw Bonnie.

Clem: jane
Jane: yeah
Clem in Lees voice: do you have thoughts about Troy

George, you're craz-
Actually no. You're right. I agree.
He didn't save my Clem. My Clem ice picked that zombie.
Mike too!
I was not expecting that, he looked so strange.
Because he's an asshole. Nuff said.
