i played the games telltale did but never watched the tv series and never read the comicsm that why i asked if its worth my timeto invest in them, since i'm so late! tv series 5 seasons and the comics its been years
Yeah, they cant really do that on a tv show though. Look how much people complain about season 2 when there was actually a lot more going on than that. It's because zombies werent jumping out of the closet every two minutes, but in every episode, there's a least one.
Okay, I haven't but I've read all the comics and they disappear from that for a long time. I don't know the show that well and assumed they followed suit.
It's awesome!!! Just don't get too attached to some characters, they could just die because well... it's the zombie apocalypse... so pretty much characters don't have plot protection

I'll tell you one more thing. The show got ragged on so much during the first season that a lot of people didnt think it would last. Look at it now, going into it's sixth season. I think thats a good indication of its quality. If it was bad, what is it, 16 million people wouldn't be watching it every week. I'm probably the biggest fan of the show on this forum and I'm really proud of it because I think it has really grown a lot and is a genuinely great show. It's not just about zombies chomping on people, it's about how the living cope in their new world, just like the comics and the games. So there, that's my endorsement for the day. I do hope you give it a chance. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fine, but at least try the first episode.

I've dropped off since the midpoint of season 4. I keep watching but it's like The Strain. I'll watch it, I'll enjoy it somewhat, but at the same time there's always this feeling of 'wait, why am I watching this?'
Also, Season 4 at least has some of the cast from The Wire... soo... Now that you mention it, I guess The Strain does too...
I watch both shows too, but it's only Marlow so far on the Strain, right? It's fun to see The Wire actors appear in the latest shows.
And to the OP, the comics are amazing. Way better than the show, and has the same feel as the games. This is coming from someone who hasn't read a comic in like ten years. A must read for TWD fans.

Yes, so far it's only Marlow. Unrelated to The Wire, one review site is clamoring back for Regina King (Bolivar's agent), who was in both The Boondocks and Southland (both of which I love), but other than that, yeah only Marlow. The Walking Dead has D'Angelo Barksdale (Stookey) and Cutty (my favorite character) (Tyreese).
I feel like the comic books are way too fast. At first I saw the volumed ones, where it was 100+ pages per one, and I could take my time and enjoy. Now reading individual issues, it just seems way too fast to really get a hold on any plotline (plus, I'm not sure about before, but they only come out about once a month)

YES for sure. It is one of the most underrated shows currently airing but is probably one of the best shows current airing. And honestly, I like the show more than the game because I'm more attached to the characters and I like the story a lot more (maybe thats just because of the way I have felt about the game in season 2, so maybe that will change).

Okay. And I agree with those people. But it's by no means critically underrated. The Walking Dead show is huge. Go to Comic Con, I'd call it overrated from the buzz it gets.
For me, it felt like the same storyline just being repeated in a different setting. After awhile, I asked myself if I still wanted to pay to read that and I decided I didnt. I dont get excited for it like I do for each new episode of Fables. I will check in sometimes to see where they are in the story.

I have seen every episode (surprisingly) and yeah the "odd zombie" you see stumbling around in the background. They made a show in the zombie apocalypse but it does not feel like an apocalypse because there are rarely any zombies. And they pose no threat anymore, when you see an "attack" and I can't even remember the last time that happened.
Being that no one is as frustrated with the pacing and inconsistent tone, or the underdeveloped characters (comparatively to their comic counterparts), I would call it really damn overrated.
Believe me, I have have been a fan since the beginning, and the show gets its share of criticism. What it doesn't get is awards and I think it deserves some acting awards at least. That's why I think it's underrated, it's better than people give it credit for.

Okay, critically underrated possibly, but I will give you that some of those actors deserve official recognition. Glenn was perfectly cast and is more likable than most anyone on TV.

You're welcome!
You dont have to marathon them to catch up, if you dont want to. Take as long as you want, the show will still be there, just avoid spoilers lol

The tv show is good.Especialy s1.Vut to many stupid deaths

Apart from Rick and Carl... probably Daryl too.
I love the show. I would definitely recommend it.

Yeah, I think those three are safe. I'm hoping Michonne too.
I think the show is great. It has its dumb moments like other shows, but I find it really enjoyable and entertaining TV.
Really? Why?
It just got too repetitive. Keep in mind, I've read most of them.
I honestly can´t understand why do you find the comics repetitive, but okay.
It kind of seems unrealistic for her to die... she survives and slaughters whole herds of Walkers that Communities run away from lol
yeah. but I don't think out get the greatest story of all time. its all entertainment purposes.
Shills.

Daryl sims to have some trouble. But after my personal favourite (Hershell) died , I am still sad and mad.

My fav was Dale. RIP old man.

Underrated? By who?
Some people are just like "oh, its turns to shit after season 1" and stuff, which imo is underrating it.

Wow, someone who feels the way I do.
It's popular, it's not overrated by any means.
Shills? What does that mean?
It's like calling them sellouts. Someone twisted their arm into putting a zombie into every scene.
Darn it, the old badasses keep dying
You can live without Season 2, well at least watch the first episode and then the last ones xd

Yes you should watch it. It's good.
How good? Very good.
